Namely, a selection of locally made artwork (paintings, prints, postcards) was a hidden treasure that answered all my souvenir needs!! The artist happened to be there, too; meeting her made the experience even more special, as did the friendly shopkeeper. Instead of leaving PR with a bag full of shot glasses and keychains, I have artwork that truly conveys the beauty of the island. My favorites are the scenes of Old San Juan.

For example, the same hats in the Old San Juan district were $24.99, but at this shop they were $14.99, and at the airport they were $29.99. Magnets were $12 for 4 or $12 for 3, depending on the type you wanted. I saw magnets in Old San Juan for $6.99-$7.99 each and at the airport for $8.99-$9.99 each. The bottom line is that most everything is made in China, Thailand, or elsewhere, not in Puerto Rico, so does it really matter which store or where you got it? No, not really. On a side note, it's lame to give a business one or two star because their hours aren't updated on some random webpage that isn't associated with the business. Do better, Yelpers.

I got my boyfriend's sister a cute halter top from the awesome sale section at the front of the store and scored myself some cute and super cheap earrings. The sales associate was warm and friendly and noticed bf's Cuban accent immediately. She asked us about our backgrounds (it is weird to some people to see an Asian girl speaking Spanish in a Cuban accent). I forgot a few things while I was on my vacation so I came here. Check-out was friendly and efficient. Next time I travel here, I may not pack as much. I'll just shop here and get a few items. They offer a lot more clothes catering to a tropical, warmer climate. Prices were identical to prices back home at the Marshalls in Virginia where shop from time to time.
