Mine went missing when I moved (probably in some box I've yet to unpack in my storage unit), and there's zero need to purchase a brand new stapler when I know I can get an old reliable Swingline from a thrift place like this (plus, I remembered on my first amble through here that they had a whole basket of staplers). Sure enough, I was able to acquire a stapler. But you can bet your ass that I brought along some staples to test out said staplers... the first one I picked up had a busted spring, but the second was fully functional. Both had been priced at $3. I mention this simply as a word of warning to consider testing before you buy.) I also picked up a bobbin thread case and a quart sized bag of crayons (both priced at $3) while I was there. This place is good for finding the kind of craft stuff your granny would keep around at a low price. And honestly, you're doing the environment a BIG favor to snag this kind of thing off a thrift store shelf rather than "convenience buy" it off Amazon or whatever. You can save money and feel good about yourself. The rest of the store has stuff like glassware, clothing, kids stuff, and holiday decor. It's not all amazing stuff. I reckon a lot of folks donate stuff they don't care to sort through when an elderly parent finally kicks it. The employee behind the checkout counter was a little slow to bother acknowledging me, but once we were interacting, they were friendly enough and wished me a good day; seemed like they were happy I actually bought something instead of just browsing.

CAP thrift store is absolutely horrible to their employees. I am angry for my friends and family…read morethat are just now leaving there. In the past, I left for similar reasons. After years of hard work and dedication to this store, someone close to me had let their manager know that a future date will be their last day. In the same day, an HR lady came in, told her to grab her stuff, and leave- with no good reason. There was still a long shift left for them to work the next day. They did not get to say bye to any of their close friends that they made a long the way. After years of minimum pay and mistreatment, you would think that they would let their employees leave happy and feeling respected.

For the quality of the items - they should be listed at least under 15$. Items I found had minor stains on them (some due to age, some due to questionable sources). A shirt I really liked had tiny specs of something on top, which I would have been fine wearing after a wash, but buying outright for 25$? Um... not really... I'm bad with money, but not that bad. I also found a shirt with a hole in it listed for 22$... and I did end up buying it because I can maybe crop it or hem it, but 22$ for something with a hole in it? That's a bit crazy, and I probably should not have bought it. (Plus when I asked for a discount due to the damage on the stained shirt and the shirt with the small hole, I was told no. So... Yeah, I mean do with that information what you will.) I understand it's second hand items and they won't be in perfect condition, but the benefit of shopping secondhand is you can often get 3-6 items for the price of one. I spent 42$ on a pair of shorts and a sweater (which, again the sweater had a hole in it and the jeans were clearly worn and old (fraying, more natural aging, etc)! I vaguely regret getting it... but hey ). 42$ for two things is the same amount I can spend to get the same thing at a Target. Sadly probably won't go back, but it was cute to step in once!

Honestly, for a thrift place, things were remarkably well organized and not in too bad of disarray-- I've seen A LOT worse, lol. It was also pretty big, so I was there awhile scrounging the aisles. You will find a fair amount more clothing and footwear that's female-coded than male-coded in this store (I use those terms simply because I don't think clothing is restricted to gender-- I'm a guy who wears both "men's" and "women's" stuff). The ratio is skewed in that direction though, just to let you know. There's also plenty of children's stuff. And knick-knacks galore. Furniture, electronics, kitchenware. Just lots and lots of your typical thrift shop stuff. It was hopping inside. Possibly because it was Tuesday, which is Senior Discount Day (20% off), but yeah, people were enjoying looking around. I'm always glad to see people thrifting and reusing stuff that still has life in it. I personally came out of the shop with some nearly-new winter shoes for under twenty dollars, plus some very affordable thank you cards + envelopes! I was pretty happy.

I had a free 75 minute appointment with a personal shopper who had loaded up a dressing room with clothing, jewelry, shoes, and purses in my sizes and colors. She gave me advice on fit and colors and took away things that didn't work and grabbed me things I needed. I walked away with I think 13 items for $94. A scorching deal!
