Donated and found what I was looking for. It's the new shopping experience my friends and I can do as a hobby.

Have been thrifting in many places since the late 1970's and have been going to this "Bins" for several years, likely have made 20-30 visits, even during Covid. I love it! It is orderly, clean, and has a hard-working staff. Yes, they are strict but it makes the place run like a top. People of all ages go there from high schoolers following trends to folks older than I who are looking for deals. There is a rhythm to how the bins are brought out maybe every 40 minutes. They now have all the housewares and shoes in shelves along all the walls and you can browse to your heart's content. There is competition for the clothes but I have only seen two loud "discussions" between buyers which the workers quickly ended. Yes, once or twice people had a wallet stolen so don't leave it in the seat of your cart. Most wear crossbody bags. No food or drink allowed. The etiquette of the place is simple, pick a sheet or towel from a bin and cover your shopping cart of stuff. Have not seen or heard of anyone rummaging through others' stuff. Have had no issue myself. Be aware that your shopping carts must now be parked in the back of the big room. You cannot approach the bins with them but people do use Ikea bags and Hulken- like shopping bags on wheels. Usually good quality merch though we all know stuff is being syphoned off at the donation point. Goodwill sells it on line. The resellers still come here and seem to be satisfied. I was a reseller but not any longer due caring for my 99 year old mother. I have been to five other Bins but I like this one best. read more

I got intimidated by the reviews of workers and competition between shoppers. It may have just been a coincidence, but my first time going today was beautiful! The workers are stern but friendly, and the shoppers today were super approachable and friendly as well. Rules were set in place nicely, and merchandise was full! read more

I came here for the first time hoping to donate some clothing items I no longer need/ have space for. This is probably the largest Goodwill I've seen since it's an outlet store. I won't be in a rush to return. Maybe it's because we're just starting the new year so people are still in "out with the old, in with the new" mode, but the store was beyond crowded. Fortunately, they had parking out front and I found a spot. Immediately when I walked in and asked about donations, the employee directed me outside to leave my donations with their inventory. She was nice but clearly overwhelmed with work. The bins looked like trash bins but when I asked to confirm that it's not trash, she said it was donations. The clothes were just out in the open exposed. It didn't seem the most sanitary since anything could just get into the bags. After I dropped off my clothes, I thought about browsing the store but that was a lost cause. The checkout line was so long. It looked like people were buying whole wardrobes. So I just left. I'm sure there are probably some good finds but it wasn't worth it. read more

As I drove by the highway, I used to see this store and always wanted to go inside and see it. Finally, in one of my trips, I took my mom there and she loved it, I loved it too. It's a lot of fun as they bring vins out each hours with new stuff. This is a great location to donate your unwanted items. I saw so many nice items and antique items as well. One lucky shopper found 2 antique paintings. I found a lovely Stappler that looks heavy Duty and Antique. There are LOTS of books at .40 cents each. Yes, I quickly found 1 Good book ...jajaja.. can't say no to books. I will not describe everything you can find here, but is everything new and/or used. It's just great for a treasure antique hunting experience a d fun activity to do if you have the time, it was absolutely fun. Because my mother is a senior, we got the senior discount. My mother found a lot of things and we left with my car full of stuff, and the bill was 80.oo. This is a great way to re-use, recycle, while saving $$$$$s. I did found an excellent night table, solid wood, that would had cost me 150.oo in a store, it was 6.oo here. read more

It is a hot mess in there, but that is expected. The workers are nice, they do their job. Be ready to be overstimulated. I recommend going with someone and not by yourself just to find some grounding. Or to bring some headphones. read more

I'm struggling with this review. If you are expecting a thrift store, this is not it. If you are faint of spirit or easily skeeved out, this is most definitely not the place for you. If you are looking for something in particular, this is not the place for you. If however you are the kind of person who drank out of the hose and ate dirt as a kid and are still up for an adventure, then take the plunge. The place is made up of huge rolling bins that are littered with various random items of clothing. Totally random. All of varying degrees of condition - meaning dirty, stained, semi clean, to almost new. The good stuff unfortunately mixed in with the bad stuff. And there are throngs of people. To be honest, as we dug, we can across underwear and used, visibly dirty cotton face masks. That said, we did dig through a bunch of bins and managed to land some bargains. My friend found a zip up sleeveless shirt that is currently for sale at $35, two pairs of jeans, two flannel pajama pants for $5 total. Things sell by weight. So all clothes are something like $1.39 a pound. I got some garden and house decor for $15. All in all - a steal. But you have to be willing to handle the ick factor and take the stuff home and wash it with laundry sanitizer. If you are on a tight budget and willing to do the work, you can find some very reliable and affordable options for your family. That's my honest review. read more

Before each rotation the staff play a power trip and have to explain the 'rules' of shopping the bins. They deliberately prolong the process and treat customers like children. I have not seen this at any other bins stores. How about you post the rules and stop treating shoppers so poorly. Spend the time rotating your bins, the bin roll out process is way to slow. They need to expand the room with the bins as the amount of customers this place gets needs way more than what they have. Also put more than one person at the checkout, the wait time to check out is ridiculous. Again, my biggest gripe is the fact that they treat customers like morons and deliberately delay the shopping experience as they gain pleasure from the idiotic 'rules' exercise. For 125,000 sq feet, It takes way to long for the turns and to checkout. This is the only pound store like this. At this size and for what they are paying in rent for NJ, It should be doing twice as much or even more. Even on the weekends, there is only one register open. It takes sometimes over 30min- 1 hr. for the turn and 1 hr and 1/2 to check out. I feel for the one the poor person at the register. What are you going to do if she leaves. I know there is a few shirt and tie badge wearers upstairs and or other employees around. It only takes 15 min to come down and help. I do not know why all stores do not run the same protocol. I've seen other stores across the country where production is constant. Also no furniture where there is plenty of room for it. Please do better. I know with this square footage its a lot to operate. Also mind your cart, even if covered in the next room as I had stuff taken out as well. Update: the carts are coming out with other goodwill store leftovers. A sign that they are not processing whatever fresh donations they are getting. Media gaylords and not rotated and are pretty much garbage cans, they took out what they consider better stuff up front so it looks like a ghost town around the front by the register with bikes on the ground like it was a junkyard. read more

The one recommendation I'd have for this massive Goodwill outlet is: time. You'll need plenty of it in order to take stock of the various bins of goods, roughly organized by type. There's plenty of clothing, shoes and accessories to choose from, but it's a bit of a slog to go through them, unless of course you have developed that sort of thrift-store radar that can smell a hidden Prada purse, a pair of Bruno Magli shoes or a Nutcase helmet from across the room. Make no mistake: You'll probably encounter that kind of eagle-eyed shopper here, so it might make sense to bring along a buddy or two. It's all quite civilized, though. There's no pushing or shoving, and most people aren't rushing through the items in the hopes of striking proverbial gold. The warehouse-sized main room provides plenty of room for moving around. An initial lap around the entire room can help orient you to the hot spots, or the things you're interested in. The adjacent room with the cash registers has some interesting goods (plenty of electronics) in glass display cases, and no you can't wander into the sorting areas. And you have to dig through all these big buckets We were herded out of the floor without anyone really explaining. Then put in lines while a very frustrate man yelled at us-no one could hear him because of the high ceiling. Then they chosen line to go inside after the bins were out. Then the yelling man punished us by telling us we weren't following rules we could hear, that were not posted anywhere. So he just kept screaming for about 5 minutes and wouldn't let anyone get anything. I read reviews saying this place was horrible and employees were screaming, yelling, treating customers poorly etc. but my experience was wonderful. It was my first time here, they have you stand and wait for the bins to be brought out and you can't touch them until they say "shop", some people do go a little "crazy" but I stayed away from where the crowds were focused and it was a calm experience for me lol I was going to check it out & had no expectations of finding anything but I still left with a big bag of clothes, shoes & vintage records for only $47. I would say this is definitely worth it. Only thing I would say is bring/wear gloves, some of the stuff can be super dirty while digging through bins. read more

I'm not sure what people expected at The Bins...they certainly exceeded my expectations!!! I had an impression of digging for buried treasures and I certainly wasn't disappointed. I went late on a Saturday. Some strategy I've seen is to go later in the day to get what others put back. I'd free time and nothing to lose so I went! I had an amazing time and got a lot of treasures. From what I understand each Bins location can set their own prices. This location has different prices for different categories. I learned my lesson too. I found two fabulous lamps. One was very heavy, which I loved because to me it meant amazing quality. Well, the lamps were weighed and sold by the pound. I thought they'd be sold by quantity. My two lamps were $53.98, a lot more than I would've paid in an actual Goodwill shop. There is a bank of plugs to test them and bulbs too so I wasn't taking a chance on them. Okay, so that was 'expensive' for being at The Bins. Let's talk luggage. I got a Lands End huge rolling duffle bag, not at all damaged and a vintage suitcase. After I saw how much the lamps were I was getting nervous. The luggage was $1.99 EACH PIECE so it wasn't weighed. Score!!! Clothes were weighed. I got two blankets, one was brand new. They were weighed too. They were expensive too. I found several single shoes that I never got the matches for--the competitor in me said they had to be there somewhere. The associate said not necessarily!!! They got put back. I'll go in the morning at some point--I just don't know when. I'll have to wake up feeling ready. I brought gloves but didn't end up using them. The actual bins weren't deep like I thought they'd be. I thought they would be 3 to 4 feet deep. These were maybe 18 to 24 inches. I liked that a lot. For some reason that made a difference for me. Next time I go, I'll have a better idea of pricing for my choices. There will definitely be a next time! Go, have fun, bring shopping bags and find those hidden gems. read more

This place is not your usual goodwill. Poorly organized, in fact nothing is organized. You need to wade through bins of clothing, it's quiet & apocalyptic and dare I say dangerous in the age of COVID. The cheap gallon hand sanitizer they have stationed around is sticky and awful. Why can't they organize their bins according to size/age/gender? Otherwise you're churning time. And plenty of stuff is ripped/stained/holes/frayed....do their workers even go through the donations? I like the staff. Helpful and pleasant. I like the organized way they flow throughout the day with new bins. The pricing is ok more expensive than most goodwills. What keeps me away; the other customers can be horrible a-holes and rude. 1. Talking about people in a foreign language is real petty and might be smart so you don't get beat up. 2. Invading space. I don't understand why people have to be so close to you when there is so much space. 3. They don't listen. Don't touch anything until the staff says "go". It's so simple. 4. Throwing clothing over people. Just put it another bin. So simple. I don't go often and I really want to but the other customers can be triggering. I just want to shop and not get into a scuffle. prices are excellent since they charge clothes by pound. their stuff smells though so i highly suggest you wear gloves as you search through the bins. just so you know, this isn't like other thrift stores. their items are in all sorts of conditions and it's disappointing a lot of the time but that's what you're signing up for. read more

This place is a nightmare. We were herded like cattle, being drawn into a large room, yelled at like criminals for not following rules that were not posted or explained. My family and I were singled out out of a crowd of at least 100 people, separated and told that since we weren't waiting properly in line that we couldn't enter with everyone else. I've never been so humiliated and dehumanized and told the staff in so many words. We complained to the manager who said this has been an ongoing issue and would discuss it at the staff meeting. I have no faith that this will happen anytime soon since there is a similar review to mine 11 months ago. Needless to say I will never attempt to shop here nor will I ever donate to Goodwill. read more

After reading some of the terrible reviews I was scared to come here. This was my first goodwill outlet experience ever. But I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was very nice and the rules that ppl complain about are simple. Don't touch the items before they say to, no fighting, no snapping things out of ppls hands and no photos or cell use until you leave the room. If you can't follow those then you're the problem not them. I even asked a few of the team for help because I was so confused and they were so nice! When I left they asked how my experience was and I said great! Moral of the story just don't be an asshole. read more

i always wanted to go to this Outlet since i see it from Route 80. HUGE building. I was able to come here last week. It has 1 aisle. You cannot even touch the item(s) from the shelves yourself. MUST have a worker retrieve the item for you. I thought this place was one of those bin type goodwills. I did put 3 stars because the workers were nice on this particular day. Well, I gave it another try. This time I was mentally prepared and had a little more of a strategy. In spite of all the tik tok teens foaming at the mouth over a denim jacket most likely worn by someone's now deceased grandparent, or the evening gown worn by a mousy teenager in 2005, I was able to find some pretty good stuff! I was surprised. It took hours of digging and multiple cycles of new bins but it's safe to say I had fun and found some pretty rad pieces! I guess I got lucky this time. These places always tend to be a hit or a miss but regardless I still enjoyed myself. Or maybe I'm just used to all the pushing and shoving and grabbing. Who knows. The employees were pleasant this time around and actually very kind and helpful. Per usual, It was still loaded with the arse hats who grab MOUNDS of clothing every new bin cycle and stuff it into their carts, without even knowing what the hell they're grabbing, could be sh** stained for all they know. I have never seen anything like this in my life. This is not your typical goodwill store. There is a room with large bins that you have to dig through. It is mostly clothes. There are some shoe and household bins but not much. Everything is weighed by the pound. About every 1.5 hours the bins are switched out for different ones. You can put your cart to the side or pay but you have to wait outside while bins are changed. You could be here all day!! There are people who bring their chairs to sit while they wait for "the next round". If you like a bargain, this is for you. If you don't like digging, don't bother coming. There is a small area in front for the nicer items. It is addicting I have to say!! read more

I can't say I was crazy about my experience. This seems to be the type of place where you need to come early and be prepared to spend the better part of your day pawing though junk in order to find the rare diamond in the rough. Some of the clothes and other items were absolutely filthy, so definitely bring gloves. There is certain etiquette's here as well. Between the sorting room and where you check out there's a space where the bathrooms are. In that space they're were a bunch of carts. People were rifling through some of them, so I did too, as I was waiting in line to check out. What I didn't know was the one cart I was looking at was items being held by someone else, which I found out real quick when she went ballistic on me. Apparently if the cart is "covered" with a sheet, tablecloth, etc. then the basket is claimed items by another shopper. Well according to management you cannot record or anything else interior side of the factory building whatever this is you're not allowed to I don't know why but that's what their regulations are. I like this place because they have a lot of different things and stuff I mean it's not like your traditional store but the remaining area is in here and everything else I mean everything shifts every two hours so it's always consistent and different I personally haven't been here enough to really give an idea of what's going on. read more

Good afternoon, Well it wasn't a good afternoon for my friend and I who went to this Goodwill and were kicked out for picking up a piece of clothing. We did not understand the rules and the employees did not do a good job of making the rules clear. Instead of kindly telling us we were doing the wrong thing they kicked us out. They were extremely rude about it and did not give us a chance to even shop when we drove 30 minutes just a shop there today. We believe the rude employee's name is Pedro. Please find a better way of explaining your rules and find some nicer employees to work there to make the experience better for everybody. The way we were treated today was honestly atrocious and we will not be back until we know there's a change. Shame on you Goodwill and shame on you Pedro. We were some of the best customers there, we went there on a weekly basis and now you just lost us as customers today because of our awful experience. Learn how to do better. Do not go here thinking that this is a regular Goodwill, with clothing hung on racks and shelves for the housewares, etc. It's an outlet, where the things that don't sell at the regular Goodwill stores are sent to breathe their last. The attendants there were rude; one of them actually waved my husband off without saying a word when he asked for the exit. In fact, I saw them being used to almost everyone. read more

Great finds here! I found tons of name brand clothing in pretty decent condition! I went on a Saturday and they let you in in sections, not sure if that's only Saturday or their standard policy during COVID. Anyway I'd recommend if you're an avid thrifter on the hunt (because you will have to dig) and want to look for some treasures. read more

I have not been to the South Hackensack location lately, however I have heard new procedures are now in place pertaining to waiting on line. You now need to leave the building after every time change and wait outside the main door. Good great idea! However now people are putting large rocks down on the walkway to reserve their spots because they do not want to wait in the cold. (iodic) If I do go to the your location I will not wait behind any of the rocks. If you are not physically there oh well you will lose your place on line and if I trip on any of those rocks and twist my ankle the police will be called. Believe me I am not afraid of anyone who thinks they run the show. So I suggest your company take care of this problem so I do not have to intervein. read more

BEWARE!!!! This rating is for the merchandise I purchased from shopgoodwillonline.com that this location had listed. The shoes I purchased where counterfeit although they were authenticated. After doing some research I found out the company that Goodwill uses to authenticate items got very bad reviews and many complaints that they were saying items were authentic when they turned out not to be. I am very disappointed with the purchase and the fact that Goodwill is essentially cheating customers out of their money. read more

I shopped at the Long Island City,NY location for years. I can tell authoritatively that that place is a mad house. This place here is so serene. It's definitely huge and better handled. There are less buyers here, which makes it less of a headache than the New York one. read more
