Went here when I went to UNO, as it is very close to the university. This is not your regular goodwill/thrift store, and was very unfamiliar to me. There were very large bins instead of racks (my first time ever seeing that), and everyone was scrambling to get the items they wanted, which were not particularly organized in any way from what I could tell. It was definitely not something I was accustomed to and made me feel slightly uncomfortable. If that experience is more your speed, then I'd recommend, otherwise a more calm, tame environment is the way to go. read more

Any thrift store is a hit or miss. This visit was a miss but that just means we will be back. Our main reason we went was for the good bytes. Very cool stuff for my computer nerd son. He was excited and now is going back to start some projects. The ware house part is very interesting. You pay per pound. This is a warning. When searching for stuff be careful. Watch out for sharp objects but really watch out for what you find in pockets. While looking through a purse, I found a used tampon applicator. Gross! This purse was very used. If you suffer from any kind of social or general anxiety - this isn't the shopping experience for you. Trust me on this. Every few years or so I cycle through a "let's give this place another chance", and every few years I find myself in deep regret. I stopped into the Goodwill warehouse last week during my lunch break. Parking was a nightmare. There was literally one spot available and three cars waiting for it. I parked much further down the lot (not even in front of Goodwill) and headed inside. Nothing could prepare me for the complete and utter chaos going on inside. Kids screaming and running all over. One kid riding a scooter with a chain attached to it that another was pulling. A general feeling a ickyness in the air. People flinging stuff from the bins with such a fervor that I was almost mesmerized. I took a few steps further inside. Debated about getting a cart or not and decided against in. Peeked inside the first bin. VHS tapes, ripped books, and broken glass. Fun times. Tried to look into the next bin and was nearly mowed down by a lady stepping in front of me and pushing her cart in my way. I kept walking, glancing in all of the bins as I walked around. I didn't see anything worth my while. I glanced into the overflowing carts people had parked in the middle of the aisles, and even then didn't see much. I found the entire Paw Patrol crew in Beanie Boo form in one of the bins, and considered grabbing them for my boys, but I was getting nauseous by that point. My anxiety just can't cope. I love thrift stores. I love Goodwill. I just can't love "the bins". read more

As far as Goodwills go, this one seemed to be stocked with reject merchandise slated for the dumpsters. It also felt like some kind of reality show competition as shoppers yelled and shoved one another. If you're looking for some kind of 'special find' this is definitely not the place. But if you're an adventure-seeker there's no shortage of thrills to be had. Will I cut my hands on the kitchen knives included haphazardly in the bins? Will I be charged $20 for an old suitcase because it's heavy? Will the grime wash off my hands? Yes, most of it is indeed just junk. But every once in a while, you might find something you deem useful or valuable. I'm kind of geeking out over old video game gear at the moment and am hoping to find some gems from the NES all the way up to the Sega Dreamcast. Unlike the other Goodwills, they require gloves, but don't state that in their site. No gloves are available from them so if you are surprised by this rule you are simply turned away. Meanwhile the lady that turned me away is working away in the mess not wearing gloves. Goodwill needs to figure out their policy because it's extremely hypocritical to tell me to leave for not wearing gloves while actively not wearing them! read more

I'm an avid thrifter. This place has become my newest addiction lol. I usually look for anything I can buy and resell, or deals for myself, family or friends. Most people who have never been here have a perception that it's straight up dumpster diving and it's not. Lol. I've actually don't that before and it's nothing close. Although it is a little more intense thrifting than those quiet little Mom and pop shops. I've found some of my best deals here simply because their system. Everything goes by weight. So on some items it may not be that good of a deal, but mostly it works out in your favor. I come up on something every time I hit the bins. read more

This Goodwill is for a special shopper. Items sell by weight. If purchases total less than 20 lbs you pay $1.37/pound. If 20 to 50 lbs pay $ .97/lb or if over 50 lbs pay $ .67/lb. Is that a good deal? Depends. A cute coffee mug I found weighed over a pound so rang up at over $1.37 I was thinking 50 cents so I put it back. If the shoes I spotted would have fit they would be a steal for under $3. My advice is keep your wits about you and pay attention. You could find a great deal but you could also easily pay too much. The clerk was nice enough to point out a scale to pre-weigh my items to estimate the cost. Ok, that's price but what about the stuff? This is a big warehouse filled with counter height tubs. The tubs are about 6' x 4' with random items dumped in each of them. If you love a treasure hunt this might be the spot for you. It's all a big jumble but there are some deals to be had - you just have to work to find them. Less clothes than most goodwills but that's probably the hardest thing to shop for in these monster tubs anyway. In the corner are bikes, furniture and other items to big to fit into the tubs. This place is for the EXTREME bargain hunter. Clearance warehouse is the very last stop for items. Items are placed in large table bins all mixed up in rows. The rows are marked and roped off somehow so that only certain rows can be shopped at one time. Then all of a sudden they call out the row that's open and it is a mad dash to that new row with fresh items of bargains. Some items I must say were junk! But some could have been quite valuable if I weren't flying on a plane with no room in the luggage for breakables ect. I could have scored some vintage antique cups and 150 year old books but who wants to carry that throughout an airport? Great experience and time killer! read more

I have not had any good luck at Goodwill. They color coordinate their clothing items,but for used,I might as well by new.Now,the Family Thrift Center at 18th & O street I just love! Awww, big whiners with your gloves. Hands wash. Yes, stuff that hasn't sold at Goodwill stores goes to the bins here. Hunt through them for a few minutes or make a day of it. Just depends what your time is worth. You might find something cool. Today I scored a dinosaur, a Hotwheels that says Team Hostile Takeover, a case for my hard drive, a landline phone, a tea tin, & a reusable coffee filter. I had a vintage Sciroco shelf & a bunch of candles for the apocalypse, but those were nixed by the ol' lady. They charge you buy weight, so this isn't the place to buy bowling balls. I practically live by thrift stores because I tend to find name brand items. However, Goodwill is certainly on the bottom of my list when going thrifting. To be honest, the main reason is that they do not inspect their clothing. I have come across several articles of clothing that were not clean. One pair of pants you could tell was previously worn without panties and then put on the rack. That was disgusting and highly unsanitary. Granted I wash anything I purchase before wearing, but seeing that pretty much just ended my Goodwill shopping days unless someone else drags me there. The primary things to remember is here, like any Goodwill store, has USED stuff and the stock is always changing. Since items are used, sometimes you find a treasure, other times the stuff is total crap, but mostly items are some where between treasure and crap. Caveat emptor, that is, buyer beware. And don't expect help from the guy or gal at the cash register. They babysit the money. Once in a blue moon they smile. The really cool thing about this place is if you're needing to repair an older computer, huzzah--they'll likely have it here. Will it work? Possibly. But if it doesn't, you likely didn't spend much, so it's worth the risk. And Goodwill does great work in communities across the country. So...if you find a treasure, great; if not, at least the money you spent will go to a good cause. read more

OMG its the saddest thrift store you'll ever see. There a long plastic bins onto on top of tables. The bins may be 6-8 inches tall and relatively flat. Its the worst layout I could imagine for a thrift store. Everything looks like a cement mixer truck back up and just started ramdomly finging things into the bins. I wanted to buy a few candles which usually early at other Goodwill Stores I've been to and the price was clearly marked. Whoever came up with this bone head idea first said lets randomly dump every piece of junk in Omaha and throw it up in the air and where it lands broken, dented, unusable items. There wasn't any nicely organized space anywhere. A product like a candle would be available in most Goodwill stores in multiple places. I expected a quick clean trip pick up a couple of candles and leave.They would be wasted here. I wasn't up for grubbing thru the bins. Its customary I assume from my visit to pick everything up and throw it in the air a couple feet and let it crash wherever it lands. If you expect clothes and books I didn't see many this meat grinder of a store. It may Oddly enough all the customers were bent over the tubes and with both arms going like a windmill picking up every piece of junk in front of them, throwing the unwanted piece up in the air to see if they can further damage the goods. But why waste store space, employee time and talent to have litterally bunk. Hey guess what you want to keep track of your budget good luck! Just like cattle at the butchers market you go up a little ramp and they weigh you with and without your "items". Just horrible idea after another. The Good Bytes Store next door is an excellent model for used computers this place is so very poorly thought out I wont't go back. read more

It's a dump "no offense" but it is a dump for goodwill, well possibly a pre-dump. Bullet list the stuff I witnessed. 1.Tweakers roaming around reminded me of Walmart @ 3AM 2.Disgusting things crusted with who no what. 4.Rude pushy people it's full of hoarders and Flea- market vendors and Tweakers i received two cards and invites to shop their store's. 5..People with carts of partial items apparently they are more than willing to sell you the other half of your find "for a fee" W.T.Fudge. it's not even paid for and your selling it to me so i can pay for it again truly a master entrepreneur or scam artist you decide. 6.The staff was visually agitated "not surprised " they have the patience of saints IMO 7.Kids running around unsupervised and doing whatever where ever 9.The manager Chantel was friendly and helpful but seemed to be fighting a loosing battle to the end with those people 10.Disgusting restroom again not surprised considering the amt of human debris contained within it walls. But even after all of that i found several items that totaled under $2 dollars that ironically are worth thousands. I have been going to goodwill warehouse for 10 yrs and I have furnished my home with amazing things. Beautifully decorated my yard ...found very nice pieces of jewerly...crafting items. It's made for those who aren't afraid to search and get a little dirty doing it.....you have to to have to have a knowledge of brands and also when not too pick things up that are not very clean....It gives the poor a chance at things they can't normally afford. This place is FANTASTIC! Its like the cheap version of what Goodwill is SUPPOSED to be! You can get things there for a dime. I bought a nice kids bike for one cent. YES ONE PENNY! AMAZING! The people that work there are hilarious and great. I have never been in a store that has so many happy people working there! The manager is a dyke with attitude, but knows her shit! She is fair and fun, but dont try to get away with anything. She is on it. Her staff love her and the customers, including me, love the attention she gives us! Great place. Great prices, great cause. This place is great for anyone who loves to dig for treasures! Wear gloves and old clothing, you get a bit dirty! Yes the weight thing is what appeals to this. We usually get over 50lbs of things and usually never spend over $37.00! You must know what to look for though and I even found a antique buffet there for $9.97! Every time we're in Omaha we have to stop here. As far as Goodwill outlet stores, it's a tie for the smallest we've ever been to, same size as the one in Las Vegas. Always a good time digging through last chance items. This one does seem to be a bit more expensive than the others too, so may be necessary to be selective when shopping, unless you're loading a cart with the over 20 lbs. This isn't your usual Goodwill store, it is a lot of physical work digging through bins full of thousands of used items, which can be dirty. I definitely recommend at least trying it to see if its for you! read more

A computer thrift store. They sell used computers cheap here. lots of high end Pentium 4 system for under $60 (cheapest I saw was a 2ghz for $39, good enough for a lot of games and the interwebs). Looks like they have more printers than best buy. I have expanded my vintage pc game collection by almost 3x as they sell games for 2.99 (cheap!). Large parking lot, though hard to get to as they are in the industrial park area and there are no sidewalks, so 72nd traffic gets to put up with a bicycle (lol). read more

i'm goo d with the bins, the prices, all that. what im NOT good with is the adults ("") who bring their kids and let them run amok. my feet were run over twice tonight by kids riding bikes around the store. i couldn't tell who their parents were. this is AFTER the announcements made several times to keep your kids with you. too many "adults" treat the place like a day care. everyone else is supposed to watch their kids. i spoke to the employees about it, "oh it doesn't do any good to announce it." so, I suggest a large sign, posted "keep your kids with you at ALL TIMES. Or you will be asked to leave the store. " i n both languages. that way, when i get run over again, i can point to the sign and say, there it is. that's THE rule. so they cant just feign not speaking english and get away with it that way. read more
