The crack sealing was poor and incomplete. They did not do the garage or street meeting areas to seal those as past companies have. Cracks were not filled with enough material, so some opened up. The seal coating was done over grass that had not been cleaned from the driveway. They are slow to respond. They are adding a fee to process credit cards. Very frustrated. Had a sealing scheduled last Thursday as part of a group rate. Got pushed to Friday. No one showed up, called and left message and did not receive call back. All you get is an answering machine. It is now Monday and they still haven't shown up or called. Very poor quality. We got our driveway sealed and followed the exact directions they left. It has now been a month and you can still see footprints when we walk on it, tire tracks when it's driven on and it is almost a grayish color. The cracks were not filled as they have been in the past. We tried to contact them, but received no response because they have already been paid. Not worth the money we paid for how crappy it looks. Driveway looked the exact same, just painted black and some guy showed up at our house at 7pm on a Sunday night demanding we pay him. Apparently they did not get our check we mailed 5 months earlier. He would not leave my porch until I showed I paid on my phone. AND charged a late fee but was unable to give an itemized receipt showing we were getting charged a late fee (but offered to write it in ). Even if he didn't show up on my porch like a crazy person I still would not recommend. They even left black footprints all over our sidewalk. read more

Was told they would be in my neighborhood in a month or so and I would get a call to schedule the service. 2 months later I get a voicemail stating I was scheduled for the next day and payment would be expected etc... Tried to call the business and get only voicemail. Their website is a bunch of dead end contact links and reference to the same voicemail #. Looking at the BBB and other online sources it appears that this is a VERY common problem. No contacts, schedule problems etc. Eventually an employee of some sort called and cancelled the appt but not until the next day. read more

We've used Superior Asphalt twice. We've found them to be reasonably priced, and the work and materials has been good quality. As others have said there is a border around the driveway after the application, this is totally normal. It's due to the hand application to protect the grass. So expect that it will be there. We have found that this does fade with time. That said the aesthetic doesn't bother us in the least. The communication has been great. Our community was supposed to be done a day earlier but was postponed due to rain. We received both email confirmation and text messages keeping us informed. We would definitely use Superior again. read more

The company dropped off a flier, with a area quote, so we took a chance, I have a company I normally use. NOT THESE guys. Its been 2 days, the cracks are falling through already, its not done up to the edge evenly anywhere. I wasn't here at the time, they scheduled for a Monday when I would be home, prepped the driveway myself for this service, they showed up on Friday after a phone call to them, no call saying they wouldn't be here Monday. It is the thinnest crappiest coating , about as thick as paint. I'm sure it will be gne before winter is over, I will be calling my company and having then do it over the top of this garbage. Would not recommend...The product that is used around the perimeter does not match the rest of the driveway when dry. After 1 week it was noticeably wearing off a residential driveway, and continues to get worse. I should have done more research and not trusted that it would be 'good enough'. read more

Superior has done our driveway for the 3rd time in 7 years They have always done a great job and showed up as promised. Prep crew cleans and edges the driveway and the seal crew comes by next and seals the driveway. Both crews are very courteous and thorough. They have also done several of my neighbors driveways over the years, all of us have been very satisfied with the job. We were very happy with our seal coating done by Superior Asphalt on August 29, 2020. They did a thorough job of patching and the actual seal coating. The driveway looks great and the price was very reasonable and discounted as our neighbors had their driveway done the same day with same discount. They communicated with us by text and phone which was fine for us but tricky for our neighbor who doesn't text. They talked by phone which worked out for them. Very unprofessional. The company provided me with a quote and scheduled a time (were servicing local area). They ended up coming late and it was their last job. When they arrived, they said they did not have enough seal coating since it was their last job. They said the company would call reschedule. I hadn't heard back from them for two day. I left them a message. They called me back and said my driveway was worn and would no seal coat it! So it's either the ones who came to do my driveway lied about the seal coating being less, or the company did not want to drive back to do my job since they had taken care of all the other in my neighbor hood. I would not use this company again or recommend to others. I signed up to have my driveway seal coated as part of a neighborhood deal. A deal which is still $200. I soon realized the poor quality of their work and products. I have more cracks on my driveway now than before and there are obnoxious streaks around the entire perimeter. I immediately inquired about quality of the job and was told they would come and re-seal my driveway. When they came a few weeks later, they said they rang the door bell and no one answered to move a car in the driveway. My mom was home all day and likely in the backyard with my dog for a minute so giving some warning on when they'll be arriving instead of the entire day's timeframe would be more than helpful for their customers. Also. is it that hard to make a quick phone call to the customer before leaving? I immediately called to inquire again and was told they would re-seal with "the next round." Fast forward to 1.5 months later and no next round has occurred yet, but I did get a 2nd payment notice in the mail without ever receiving a 1st notice. Terrible job. They say they fill cracks... When they power blow the driveway, they blew out the fill between the driveway and sidewalks/ garage floor. Just left it laying there and added no filler. When I called they said they don't do transitions, and it never said they would in their literature... no offer to fix, just excuses. Very misleading. We've had it done by many other companies over the years, and this seemed to be the cleanest, best looking, most evenly applied seal coating we've had. They are very neat! Company left what appeared to be a handwritten estimate on our door that referenced 1150 square feet at 20 cents per square foot totaling $230.00. The $230.00 was crossed out and a note said that since they would be in our neighborhood the "Special Group Rate" would be $218.00. I scheduled a date and the crew showed up the morning of the agreed date. A young man came to the door and said they were the prep team and the coating team would be along in 45 minutes. He then gave me his phone and asked me to speak with his supervisor (Dave) who said there were more cracks than anticipated and that they did not have enough material to fill them all and there would be an additional cost as they would have to go get more filler (I'm no asphalt professional, but there doesn't seem to be an inordinate number of cracks in the driveway). Dave then said the driveway is larger than estimated and the job would cost $318.00. Something didn't seem right. I asked how many jobs they do in a day, and Dave said about 20. Hmmm, I asked Dave how they could be short of crack filler at 11:00 am when they had several jobs left to complete. Dave said, "well its not really the cracks it's the size of the driveway. Hmmm, I asked Dave how many square feet is our driveway? Dave said he didn't know for sure, but from the pictures the prep crew texted him he could tell the driveway was larger than 1150 sq/ft. Again bad vibe, so I said sorry guys I guess we'll have to cancel. After they left I measured the driveway and calculated it at 1240 sq/ft. A 30% jump in cost for a 8% increase in size? Upon a closer look at the estimate left in the door, it is a preprinted document designed to appear as a hand written estimate. read more

I had Superior Asphalt seal my drive way after I called the number given on a flyer I received at my house. The process was very easy. No complaints ( unlike some one else evidently ). I even had a question and was able to talk to the owner directly. He also informed me his company is over 20 years old, so I figured he must be doing it right. It had been several years since we had our driveway seal-coated, so it was past due. Superior Asphalt contacted us and offered a good price because they were going to be in the area so we gave them a try. They did a terrific job. They cleaned out all the weeds in cracks and on the edge of the driveway. They were careful not to get any coating on the garage cement. Overall the job looks great, evenly coated, cracks were filled, no missed spots. The only thing I can't comment on is the longevity of their product. I agree with the review on 10/18/2011. My job was performed back in August and it took until today for them to finally respond to my numerous messages regarding my concern with the sloppy job that was performed. I held off on providing payment as incentive for them to address my concern. Instead of addressing my concern all I got were reminders to pay. I had a few inconspicuous half-dollar sized pock-marks on my driveway that could have gone untouched as far as I was concerned. Rather than carefully fill the individual pocks, their crack sealer decided to play connect-the-dots and drizzled the stuff all over the place. Now the driveway looks like it has numerous oil spills on what was otherwise a nice looking driveway. According to the guy I finally talked to today (James), they did in fact come out and look at it after my first call and didn't see any issues. It surprises me that, if that's true, they didn't called me back as I asked repeatedly. At any rate I gave them an opportunity to make right with the situation and, having now paid my balance in full and seeing that they don't know bad quality when they see it, I will now make every effort to pass the word about their careless work. 1st of all we heard of this company from a door tag stating they would be in our area. So I thought, "why not try them out". I called and got an automated service stating to leave your info. So I did that. I heard back from someone a week later saying they would come in a week. The day they were supposed to come, I got a call from a gal saying they would not make it that day (Tuesday) and that they would be out Wednesday or Thursday and they would call 24 hours in advance. I never heard anything neither of those days. I called on Friday saying I was not happy about them not following through, I had to leave a message because you will NEVER talk to anyone live. I got a message Saturday saying they would be at my home Sunday. On Sunday we were not home when they first arrived but we arrived before they came back. Here's what we found: They did not blow the dirt and debris from our driveway, the oil spots were not treated, the grass along the asphalt was not trimmed, the cracks were not filled and here's what really made me upset: they did put sealant along the 3 stall garage (a long line), they also did that at the bottom of my driveway, they managed to be VERY sloppy and got it on the brick of my home and also on my grass and landscaping rocks. A few hours later another crew arrived, by then I had parked my car in my driveway because how I already felt, I was not going to have this awful company RUIN anymore of my home (that I love). The man approached my husband and I and I was MAD! We showed him everything of concern, and the BIG mexican man said I have valid complaints and he will pass them along to his boss. Today is Tuesday, I have not gotten one call from this company with an apology of the mess they made with what little they did. I asked, "why 2 different crews?", He said so they would only have to spend 10 minutes each per home per crew, one is a prep crew and the other a sealcoat crew. I would save your money and headaches by going with a company that will speak to you, follow up with you if there is a concern and someone that values you the customer. I did take pictures of the mess and they have not heard the last of me. I will make sure this company pays for the damage they did to my home.
