Head Chefs and Restaurant Founders Nir Ivenizki and Doron Eisenberg deliver their love of modern Tel-Aviv cuisine and electronic music to the streets of the city at our full service restaurant and boutique record shop.
Born in Tel Aviv, our founders Nir and Doron formed a friendship while attending music school in the 1990s. Their enthusiasm for electronic music and modern Middle Eastern food bonded them together and inspired them to blend their passions via a unique restaurant concept.
GORDON was born from this desire to merge traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, shaped by the memories of childhood in Tel Aviv while still modernizing the dishes and bringing Middle Eastern food into the future. The restaurant's signature recipes include shakshuka simmered for over twelve hours, homemade hummus blended to perfection, oven-baked pita bread, and other freshly prepared dishes from scratch.
The bar at Gordon's offers refined cocktails, craft beers, and a wide selection of Israeli wines, which diners can enjoy while listening to live DJ performances, including local artists found on Legotek Record Label, at the in-house boutique record store.
History
Established in 2018.
The founders of Gordon, Nir and Doron, began their journey in a Tel Aviv music school. The two first worked as DJs and producers, and quickly established a rooftop party series on Gordon Street, an area of the city known for the arts and culture, that quickly became a staple in Tel Aviv nightlife. Their enthusiasm for electronic music lead them to co-create Legotek Records in 2009, after which they moved to Berlin, where they concocted a plan to combine their passion for music and love of food. The small music cafe GORDON opened in 2014, named after the thriving district where they had made their start. The trendy music cafe made a mark with its unique combination of traditional Israeli sandwiches and boutique record shop, and now, four years after its beginning, Gordon has expanded into a a full service restaurant and cocktail bar.
Meet the Business Owner: Nir Ivenizki and Doron Eisenberg E.
Nir and Doron founded the record label Legotek in Tel Aviv in 2007. Known for its famous rooftop parties on Gordon Street, the two enterprisers brought the label, along with their hometown roots, to the heart of the Berlin music scene. The record store at GORDON represents musical artists and carefully curates a selection of the latest techno and house vinyls.
GORDON's two young business partners, Nir Ivenizki and Doron Eisenberg, sought to share their passion of modern Middle Eastern cuisine, home-style hospitality, and electronic music with the people of Berlin. The two created an oasis of carefully selected records and cutting edge recipes served in an unique atmosphere.
