It was my 3rd fave experience in Scottish football but only because my fave Scottish team (Celtic) got a narrow and thrilling win. One of my most memorable nights watching Celtic for sure. Then when I was on tour here in 2011, the morning after the night of my concert, I went to relive the memories and walk around the stadium. I noticed that it hasn't changed a bit. It's still huge, it's still intense, but it badly needs a makeover and perhaps to have the corners filled in. Maybe that will happen soon. If it does, this grand old stadium from the 19th century could earn the 5th star that I want to give it. So when I was doing my first tour of Scotland in 2011, I also hit up every single stadium in the country. My obsession with footy (soccer to Americans) is the reason. So watch this space! *** return to regular review *** The grand home of Aberdeen FC way up by the ocean in NE Scotland, this 1899 stadium holds 21k and is one of the biggest in Scotland with a fierce support. It was the first all-seater stadium in the UK. It's the 3rd largest stadium being used by a top club. It has a cool granite facade. They might move to a new stadium but that would be a tragedy really since this one is so good. It's 15 mins from the city centre on foot and Briony has been there. it's an expensive ticket. It could be better atmosphere-wise if the corners were filled in but it's one of the better stadiums in the country. It's very close to the sea which makes it absolutely freezing.

Tours are guided which limits you to the wandering you can do but is fantastic as you get a good understanding of the five families that at one time or another owned and resided in this amazing house and of course each added their own flair though the building of a tower. I must say though, the leg room seems to be non existant and i've found the chairs are a lot less comfy than others. They show a variety of films, but these tend to appear at silly times that just aren't convenient for anyone. They are the latest films to come out though so shouldn't complain that much. The food here is very expensive along with the cinema tickets themselves. You're talking over £20 for two of you to go and have some food. This is probably what puts me off the most. It is conveniently located for anyone that drives, but if you don't drive you've a long walk from the bus stop to the cinema and then back again later on. Worth a try if you're at the beach anyway, if not, i'd pick a different cinema.

There were lots of climb on exhibits which everyone enjoyed climbing on and pretending to be driving, from toddlers upto grandad. the entry price was a little steep from what i can remember but all money goes to the musuem so it was worth it. we also got a journey on a road train around an exhibition track which was the best part of the day for my toddler. there was a large section of bikes, cars, trams and busses to climb on and explore. It is a great place to take tranport mad kids, and big kids and kept our group entertained for a good while. there is also a small cafe and gift shop.
