I found the application process very daunting and was anxious to get the ball rolling to get ahead of potential delays the new government administration might cause in immigration. Gali was nice, very professional, and had positive intentions in trying to help me land a visa (as a recent graduate of a vocational school for audio engineering in SF, I was eligible for a few visas including H1B and J1). She was very realistic, informative, and walked me through a few possible options. Unfortunately in the end she determined that there wasn't an easy way for me to remain in the USA (unless I had a girlfriend here in the states I was ready to marry!) First of all, I should say thank to Ms. Gali and her team again. Without them, I don't think I could get an approval. I went to visit her office right before my second interview. It was the end week of July 2011. I didn't acknowledge how serious it was before my friend told me that I should consult with lawyer. I found her office from google. Originally I had an appointment with Jennifer, but she couldn't be with us on our interview, so Ms.Gali stepped in. It was clear that she knew what she was doing after I talked her few min. She was very confident in talking and told me about what and how I should be prepared. She also immediately asked me to bring my husband for next meeting if I want her to represent us. I was very impressed by her and had feeling that I found a right person. I and my husband went to her office together for the preparation two days before the interview and she directed us how to prepare and what to expect in term or questions that interviewer might ask. It was very efficient meeting, and with her explanation, I understood where the interviewers were coming from. The fact she told us that we need to tell a story. It's like when interviewer ask about the trip that we went to together, then don't just say we went to here and there. She told us we should connect all the happens in the trip and describe with details. She told us to write down all the things that we did a past week. Like a time frame. It helped us a lot for preparation as well. The interview was early in the morning on Tuesday, and she was there on time and be with us throughout the interview. After the interview, she told us we did a great job, and she believes that we'd hear a good result. The same day around three o'clock, I received an email from immigration office that my case had been approved. I have told my friend if u need immigration lawyer, I definitely recommend my lawyer! After approval, USPS lost my GC in delivery, so I had to apply I-90 form. I thought doing it myself, but I asked Ms.Gali once again. Now my I-90 has been approved, so I am waiting for the card! We found ourselves in a bind because the first time we completed the H-1B visa application for a colleague, the application was denied.
