My mother has been with Ed Southard for 30+ years (probably 40+ years). I'm with State Farm as a result of her relationship with Ed Southard. In all those years, she had one single claim because State Farm was/is so good at making you feel bad about filing claims. Recently, a tree fell on my mothers roof and now that I'm responsible for her financially, I filed a claim. Her shingles are discontinued but due to a prior roof repair (because mom was guilted against filing a claim, just as State Farm tried to guilt me against filing this claim) she will now have a significant mis-matched roof. Pay attention to where State Farm spends their money... GREAT at spending marketing dollars, but horrible at taking care of their customers. On the phone with the agent assigned to the claim, she constantly spoke over me, was extremely passive aggressive including raising her voice to say "and don't you try to tell me there was wind damage or hail damage, i check that roof and it was FINE!". She even drove out to my mom's house and couldn't find it (because Google maps was wrong) and instead of asking for help, called me and said "I thought your contractor would come over and find me to take me to the house, but since they didn't I'm leaving." (which is documented in a voicemail) I called Ed Southard hoping they would ADVOCATE for a 40-year client and call the claims department asking for leniency, nope, "the policy is the policy, we can't do anything about it." What happened to customer service and just doing what is right... Dropping State Farm like a fly once this claim clears, both for my Mom and the 7-policies I hold individually. Finding someone LOCAL who actually cares about customers vs. the bottom line...

We were customers with Andy Southard for over 20 years…read moreand finally needed them to be there after a broken water pipe did water damage in our home. They said no, so we fought it and was finally given a check, after having to use our own money to prevent mold because they denied us so long. Now, after them treating us badly and having to pay a small claim (after 20 years) They CANCELLED our homeowner insurance without a phone call, email or anything. We found out from our loan officer! This place is not your friend. There are better people to handle your insurance needs because this guy does not help you or even stand up for you when you actually need it. He will be fake and nice until you have a claim and you are on your own. Don't trust this person

He never called back. Never once spoke to this guy. Then, I asked the call center to have them call us to confirm that autopayments for our car insurance were stopped because the local office apparently has to do that. Again, no call. This guy must be a class act. The insurance adjuster was rude and unhelpful. Everyone else we spoke with about this could not believe it. Don't waste your time with this company and especially this guy!

    Two years ago this was a Horribly dishonest company in paying claims. They delayed authorizing the…read morebody shop and then paying them. When it came time to extend the car rental due to their delays they refused to pay it. All the stress and anxiety they caused me for daily phone calls, no one working the claim properly, the loss of use of my personal vehicle 6 weeks.... More recently, They reported me having an accident when I was a witness. Then they don't correct this information but reported it to LexisNexis in order to up my rate or cancel me. I have to dispute it through LexisNexis because no one at State Farm would help. Not my agent. Not the Claims Department. Not a single so-called Manager. Do yourself a favor! Go elsewhere!

Please do not waste your time with these dishonest horrible people. I was hit by a semi that ran a red light my agent refused to help when the company that hit me wouldn't file a claim. After a year of begging I had to hire an attorney. Unfortunately I was hit a year later by a drunk driver totaled my Camry as it sat in a junk yard totaled no doubt it was a totaled car and Colton himself insisted I keep it insured??? Why it wasn't going on the road without being on a tow truck. I canceled anyway he threw a childish fit on me called my husband to tattle on me lol I cannot make this stuff up! Well when my husband finally listened they wanted us to jump through hoops to cancel lol I sent them a copy of the state Indiana insurance rights and State Farms own cancelation policy which was a lot different then what they wanted us to do. This office is a joke I wouldn't wish this office on anyone. PLEASE DON'T WALK RUN FROM THIS OFFICE!!
