DO NOT HIRE URSALA! She doesn't care, isn't professional, and may leave you open ended on a case. She does not keep you updated. I'm sorry but she will be paid 1/3 of my settlement and doesn't even return my phone calls!!! I turned to Ursala Goodwin after I was in a horrible accident. Being in a wheelchair for 6 months and hospitalized for a month. She took my case and was keeping me updated at first. Then, earlier this Spring I realized I hadn't heard from her in about a month. I called her, no answer, left a message no reply. I tried to reach her for about a week and finally she returned my call. She said my case was going to be a hard case, and I asked her what she thought we should do and she said she had some ideas... time went by and then it was July. I called several times no return phone calls, I texted her with no replies. Finally I got Gloria on the phone who had no info for me at all. She said she'd have Ursala return my phone call because she was out of the country. I never heard back from her. I waited about 2 weeks and tried again. This time I got automated replies saying she's in court and will call me back shortly. She never did. This is now the middle of September and I still have not heard from her. I find this to be VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I don't know where to turn and have never turned to a lawyer for help like this before, but I did start calling other lawyers and they can not believe that she doesn't return my calls. I need a strong lawyer that is sure of them-self and knows what their doing... I do not think Ursala is this person, she doesn't even have common courtesy to say she can't do my case. I have decided to go another route and tried to reach her with a new game plan but she doesn't return my calls, so she can't help me. Because I trusted her, my hands are tied. Do not hire Ursala!!! Extremely unprofessional... from the beginning, I had a feeling she did not have my husband's best interest at heart. She showed up late to the hearing without a phone call or email. When she rushed in, she had no idea who her "client" was, mistook him for someone completely different, different name, different citation. Because of her disorganized nature, she went into the hearing not fighting for the best interest of my husband, therefore making him settle for the worst. Beware of hiring this attorney. She will not fight for your rights or interview witnesses as she says. There were 5 witnesses in our case and she interviewed 1 for "3 minutes"; and that was over the phone. Yes, I said "3 minutes" and did not record a word of it. Most importantly, she would not interview the officer involved and allowed the state to intimidate her from doing so. The officer was NOT a victim and should have been available for an interview. As a result she had NO CLUE the officer was going to change his story on the stand and therefore was not prepared to call him out on it, in court. (probably because she never really read our case or paid attention to it in the first place.) Completely allowed the officers lies and his change of story to go unmentioned in court and did not confront him with his written reports which completely contradicted his testimony. If your attorney doesn't bring this to the judges attention; he doesn't know any different. She will tell you to your face you did not commit a crime and lead you to believe she will work on your case; but does nothing in reality. Very weak in court!!!!!.
