I parked in the back of the building with many warning signs about towing. I walked into the salon about 5 minutes before my appointment. I was seated for a couple of minutes before the stylist came to get me. My hair was shampooed, treated with the Olaplex treatment and conditioned. My hair was then blow dried and styled. Lauren is by far the kindest most transparent and trustworthy stylist I have ever met. From the start she was quick at replying and her communication by far unmatched. I was impressed with her transparency in every aspect. She was honest about both her ability to achieve what I wanted along with her recommendations for me given my current hair health. For Lauren, keeping my hair healthy and reaching my hair goals were at the top of her priority. I never once felt uncomfortable, and the entire appointment felt super personable. She was also super honest about the price and what upkeep would look like- and that is a conversation that can sometimes feel taboo but not with her. She is such an amazing stylist and her ability to make you feel welcomed and clear minded with what to expect is by far the best I've ever experienced. I will most definitely be coming back and I look forward to seeing her as my future stylist because that is just how good she is. The vibes were TOP TIER and I am super happy with how my hair came out! I went in looking for a balayage and wanted to go blonde but after a very thorough consultation with Lauren (with complimentary snacks) we decided on a more brownish look since I had lots of box dye and she don't want to fry my hair. Of course she provided a range of options if I did want to go blonde that same day, such as adding highlights or doing a baby foil (which she was so kind to explain what everything meant and how that would look maintenance wise along with price!). In the end I decided to just follow up later on to go lighter! The whole time she does not at all make you feel pressured or uncomfortable or tries to up-sale anything- she even told me that if I loved it and didn't want to do another appointment that that was totally okay too- there was absolutely no pressure! For my personal hair I ended up paying around $290 and considering the entire appointment and the thoroughness of it, I felt the price was more than justified! Literally about 50 minutes prior to the appointment I experienced an attack of the recent parasite infection going around. I felt pretty cleaned out by that horrible experience and I thought well I don't feel that bad. I guess I could still go to the appointment and then moments later I had another attack. And then one more at this point, I thought I probably should cancel the appointment so I called and it was about. 35 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time. I actually photographed the mess in the toilet just to have evidence that this wasn't an excuse. When I explained my situation, the receptionist felt strongly that I do not come in. And she encouraged me not to come. I said well will I be getting my 50% deposit back? And she said I'll have to ask the manager and have her get back to you. Moments later, Kate, the manager called me. And she explained very firmly that not only would I not be getting a refund but she would be charging me $67 momentarily because she forgot to do it yesterday to hold the appointment. And I said, wait a minute $67? Isn't the appointment $105 so the deposit amount should be $52.50? She said no it's a root color plus the additional money for the blowout., it's mandatory that all of our first time color clients have a mandatory blowout. I said well no one told me that when I set the appointment yesterday Kate said yes, you didn't know because I'm the one who sent the appointment and I remember telling you. I said honestly, if I had to pay for a blowout, I would not have set this appointment for root color. I could've gone anywhere. The prices are just about the same everywhere. Its a Wednesday morning I have nothing planned for this evening. I would not have a blowout for the middle of the week. I have short hair. I rarely need a blow blowout anyway it's so easy to do my hair. She insisted I knew about this and immediately charged my card. I was stunned at how aggressive this was and I said OK if I'm being charged $67 then I'm coming. I will be in. I'll keep the appointment. She said we really rather you don't come today.
