This was a very good stop, easy on and off the highways always a plus. The restrooms although dated were clean. Vending is inside. A weird factor is a rear foot bridge that goes to a broken down picnic table. Don't let the kids play back there. The biggest plus are the nice grounds, picnic tables and even a playground. After the coffee kicked in, it was time for a stop along I-64. This rest area is nicely shaded though the trees are still bare this time of year. Review is for westbound I-64 rest area. This is a nice place to stop and stretch for truckers or car travelers. Picnic tables scattered around the grounds provide plenty of shady seating amid the trees. There's a children's playground. Bathrooms and other inside public spaces were clean. Vending machines provided a variety of snack and drink options. read more

We like to joke about roadside rest stops. We critic and rate them despite they are all basically the same thing and serve a rather necessary purpose. Some states take better care of the rest stops than others. In some cases, they are more like parks, actually well designed and fun. Some are great places to stop and actually rest, have a picnic, and stretch. I've seen some that provide areas for doing some basic exercises and have walking paths. And some are also set up to show a nod to the local area, state themes, or respect the outdoors. I make a point of using this rest stop instead of a business because it's clean, quick, and feels more park-like and relaxing than a greasy fast food bathroom. But also because I almost always see wildlife from deer, all kinds of birds, lizards squirrels, and more. There is a creek behind the restroom building with a couple of bridges and a lightly maintained trail that goes back into the trees. You very quickly can feel like you are out on a nature hike rather than a roadside restroom stop. Since I pass here throughout the year I like to see how the seasons change and all the colors from fall and spring are represented. After my walk, I feel renewed, fresh, and ready to take on the monotony of the road. read more

If you are still stuck in the snow and stopping at every rest stop while you prepared yourself for this weather like us. Then this place is worth the stop, they cleared of the parking lot the best they can with it snowing and icing. Restrooms were stocked and clean, with working dryer & soap machines. Many options of vending machines, while you are standing there take a moment to enjoy the wildlife unless you really are like me that's glued to your phone making a Yelp review. There are benches to chill at and a big lobby to stay warm. Overall, a nice stop and happy I didn't have to create this stop! Lol read more

It's just a rest area, so let's not go too nuts here, but I was very pleased with the cleanliness of this one.

My first drive through Illinois and I was running early for a meet-up... (forgot to take into account the timechange!) I needed a little rest and something to gnosh on... so, I stopped. I was delighted to discover that not only were the facilities clean and the vending machines well stocked, but they had some lovely picnic spots, a small playground (if you have kidlits), and a beautiful walking path through the woods! So, I was able to take a lovely little stroll, stretch my legs, get a little snack, and relax a bit before getting on the road. All in all, a nice little rest stop! read more

It was reasonably appealing, although the rest room could have used some care, rather than the expensive design. I'm sure some group was congratulating themselves when the rest area was opened with the modern design elements. Prettiest little rest area I ever did see! Clean as a whistle inside and out. Lovely little wooded walking trail (.25 mi.) with two pedestrian bridges. Backs up to farm land. There are numerous picnic tables, an area for dogs on leashes, well-stocked food and beverage (and stuffed animal) vending machines. Restrooms are equipped for the disabled. This is a nice place to take a refreshing break. read more

This is the best place to stop along 64. The bathrooms are always clean and well stocked, and you can grab a snack at the vending machines. Those driving for long periods of time will appreciate plenty of green space to stretch their legs. You could even bring food and stop here to eat at one of several picnic tables while your kids play on the swingset. read more

Amazing rest stop on 64 - great for families or those traveling with dogs. Our toddlers were getting super antsy in the car and I was delighted to find a playground, a wooded walking path, healthy choices in the vending machine and well kept picnic areas for snacking. This should be a model for other stops. read more
