I'M SOARING! A long overdue review... 5.0+ One morning, as we sat in our Waikiki hotel room, I overheard my husband talking on the phone. Most of the conversation was garbled, but I distinctly heard the words "airport" and "reservations." Knowing my daredevil husband all too well, and remembering that he has skydived in the past, I immediately had to put a stop to whatever crazy adventure he was planning. "I AM NOT JUMPING OUT OF A PLANE TODAY!" I exclaimed. Then, for emphasis, I added, as simply and clearly as possible: "NOT today." He assured me that we were not skydiving. But as we drove farther from Waikiki, heading north, and began seeing signs for the airport, I knew something was up. I took a deep breath and walked into the office of Paradise Air Hawaii, where we met Tom and Denise. They were both so warm, friendly and welcoming. They talked about their many years of experience and the thousands of flights they have conducted in powered hang gliders, also known as trikes; an open-air aircraft that offer an entirely different kind of flying experience. Tom has quite the resume. He is an FAA-certified flight instructor and has more than 6,000 hours of experience flying this type of aircraft. He is also an accomplished skydiver, hang-glider pilot, BASE jumper, aerial photographer and Hollywood stunt professional. Tom was inducted into the International Skydiving Hall of Fame in 2019 and has even skydived with former President George H. W. Bush. Needless to say, we felt that we were in very capable hands. After a safety briefing and getting geared up, we were ready to go. Tony flew with Tom, while I flew with Denise. Just as with an airplane, we picked up speed along the runway. As we lifted off, I could feel the excitement building. And then suddenly, we were airborne. The sights we saw as we flew over Oʻahu's North Shore are something that have stayed with me ever since, although they are difficult to put into words. It was the feeling of the air all around me, the sounds and the complete openness of the experience that made it unlike anything I had ever done before. I was soaring. It was AMAZING! We flew over beaches, mountain ranges and fields. At one point, we even saw a 360-degree rainbow, a once-in-a-lifetime sight that I will never forget. There was also a point during the flight when Denise gave me control of the aircraft for a minute or so. Yes, I can officially say that I flew a powered hang glider! Because we were in the air a bit longer than usual, I even accumulated an hour of flight instruction time. I never expected that to happen when I woke up that morning! The landing was just as smooth as the takeoff. But once we were back on the ground, I already missed being up in the sky and feeling that incredible sense of freedom. Sometimes, it's the things we are unsure of, the things that make our hearts pound and send our adrenaline rushing, that make us feel most alive. And sometimes, you just have to trust your daredevil husband. read more

I've been walking through a pretty unbelievable difficult journey. However, through this painful journey I've decided to keep living and am focused on checking off my bucket list! Life is a journey. How you choose to live yours is up to you. Do some activities carry risks? Yes. However, in my opinion you risk your life every day if/when you get inside a vehicle and travel anywhere. That's why it's so important to stay close to the Lord! Where ever you are on the island will be a beautiful drive to Durham airfield. There is plenty of room for parking, but still get there early enough you can be relaxed. When you book your reservation, Heidi is pretty thorough on when you need to arrive and what to expect when you get there. I love heights. Always have. As far back as I can remember, I dreamed of being a pilot and also jumping out of a plane. I just didn't realize it would take a dark journey for me to make at least one of these dreams a reality. In 2018 , I discovered North Shore Oahu was one of the top 10 places to skydive in the world. Score ~ booked and jumped! Then in 2021 I discovered hang gliding was also available just a hop skip and a jump down from Skydiving Hawaii on Durham Airfield. It wasn't much of a conversation with myself that morning when I decided to book both hang gliding and my 2nd skydiving jump over the North Shore in the same day. I know, right?! It was epic! Tom and Heidi were amazing. Not only did I enjoy my conversation with each of them, but I enjoyed my 45+ minute flight with Tom. Spectacular views of the island I love. Tom explained how the glider worked. He also allowed me the experience of holding the wings as we flew. Flying free feels like sitting on the back of a motorcycle which I also enjoy doing and still do. The pictures show the beauty below, but they don't share the exhilaration of sitting in the seat flying high! The saddest part was coming back down to reality. Thanks Tom for an amazing memory and one I would and will repeat in a heartbeat!! All rules, and chances of mishaps are reviewed with each and every applicant. This sort of activity is not for everyone, however, each applicant signs a paper indicating their understanding of the risk. It's always incredibly sad to hear when accidents happen. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one who is choosing to experience an activity such as hang gliding. Accidents happen. In the short amount of time I spent with Tom and Heidi never once did I feel they would purposely jeopardize anyone's life while they share their love of hang gliding. read more

What an amazing experience! Flying over beautiful Hawaii with Paradise Air Hawaii was absolutely unforgettable and definitely a highlight of our trip. Our whole family got a turn, and it ended up being the favorite activity for our two high school kids! The team was fantastic--they took the time to explain everything clearly, so we all felt confident and comfortable before taking off. It didn't feel rushed at all; in fact, it felt like we each got our own private flying lesson, which made the experience even more special. While we waited for our turns, we could watch the flights from the waiting room, which added to the fun and anticipation. Do this and change your life!!! I'm scared of heights, but I joined my friend on this adventure. The pictures on the website seem a little scary, flying through the air in an open small plane but the actual flight wasn't scary at all! It was so zen and relaxing. It also eased my mind they have a one hundred percent safety rating! The staff is friendly and really take care. Heidi is so cool, it's like you've known her all your life and my pilot Mark was so easy to talk to he became my pseudo therapist throughout the flight. My friend had Tom as her pilot and later told me he was her new best friend. They offer Kama'aina rates and it is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Just do it. read more

Unforgettable flight at the coast of North Oahu over beautiful beaches, ocean, waves and cliff scenes. Very slow and low flight when you can see everything on the ground. We could see a couple of big turtles swimming on the ocean from the air. If you think of flying in a airliner as a bus experience, this is like a bike ride experience, where you can see 360 round you and feel the wind and the engine sounds surrounding you. Heidi, Warren and Tom were extremely professional, polite, safety oriented and are experienced for decades in flying. The plane is FAA certified and as Warren is CFI, if you're a pilot, you can log the flight as dual. If you love flying, it's a well worth experience in Hawaii. read more

This was an AWESOME way to experience the North West side of the island, you get it all in this tour! Fun, exhilaration, views, facts, ideas, and even a flight lesson! I can't tell you enough to do this experience... From booking with Denise, to hanging in the hanger with Heidi, to being in the air with Tom... It was all AMAZING... My husband and I got different routes due to weather and had fun comparing our videos. The hangar was comfortable and had snacks while you wait for your party, and the flight demo was super cool! I really enjoyed the flying experience with Tom! He made the whole experience fun and made me feel at ease, I didn't even had an ounce or fear before,during and after the flight. Heidi showed us Tom's records and experience, his Skydiving videos are just so inspiring. I'm scared of height, I can't even ride a kiddie roller coaster but for some reason I was convinced that with Tom, I'm in safe hands. The views are breathtaking. I feel so free and have extra confidence with heights that I even wanted to sign up for skydiving after.. LOL. I definitely recommend this activity if you will be or willing to go to Oahu's North shore. I also would like to thank Heidi for taking care of us before and after the flight and Denise for keeping us updated on the schedule. We had to reschedule because the winds are not good for flying. TLDR: Amazing experience with extremely warm and fun people! You'll see mountains, Waimea Falls, sunflower fields, turtles, dolphins, and pineapples. Legit cameras to capture the experience. My vote is to do this over open-air helicopter rides! Pre-flight: We did the 1-hour sunrise flight and so check-in was at 5:15am. It was about an hour from Waikiki but totally worth getting up early for. Denise, Jenny, and Tom welcomed us with warm hugs and snacks. Ipo (their pupster) was also there to hang with us! We got into our gear and hopped into the gliders (mine was called Safeish ). Flight: So fun!! There's not quite and experience like it. I loved feeling the wind and seeing everything around me. Jenny also let me fly the glider for a bit and but you can also sit back and enjoy the ride. Jenny pointed out the best places to snorkel and we saw turtles (including the turtle cleaning station) from the air! We also saw all that stuff I mentioned above. :) Post-flight: We got certificates and chance to look at our photos. Turns out that Tom is a pro-aerial photographer who has filmed Hawaii Five-0 (explains the fancy cameras on the gliders). The photos are high quality and worth splurging for (add video and shirt for $30 more). They also gave us a postcard of recommendations for places to check out and eat at in North and West Shore! Overall, I loved the experience! Turns out they also offer flights in Lake Tahoe. Gonna have to check that out too! :D read more

Each time up is an actual flying lesson, and it's very thrilling to be able to fly these cool aircraft over the beautiful island of Oahu. I rarely write reviews but Paradise Air deserves all 5 stars and then some. I flew at sunrise and it was magical. Watching the sunrise next to Mt. Ka'ala, flying down Kaena Point and along the North Shore where we spotted a mama manta ray and her two baby manta ray's swimming near the coral reefs. It felt like I was truly flying, but most of all I felt safe. Safer than skydiving (and safer than driving these days with all the crazy traffic). The flight suit kept me nice and warm, I wore open toed sandals with a strap b/c no slippahs/flip flops allowed (in case they fall off). My toes got a bit cold but it wasn't too bad. They just got brand new helmets that fit really well and feel comfortable and don't block too much of your peripheral vision so you really have a 360 panoramic view the entire time. Take off and landing were the smoothest I've ever experience, smoother than any commercial airplanes I've flown on and I'm not even exaggerating. I highly recommend giving motorized hang gliding a try with Paradise Air. They have a perfect safety record for 20+ years a d are the nicest people who truly take care of you every step of the way. My pilot was Tom Sanders himself. Google him, he's kinda a big deal but he is literally the most down to earth guy about it all. During the wait time they showed us some of Tom's movies and other film projects through the years and even helped us plan the rest of our day in Waialua and the North Shore with breakfast recommendations, beaches, and other activities to try. We are locals and have all lived here our entire lives but they showed us stuff we never knew about. (I guess cuz we're townies) They have a great kama'aina discount so def ask about it when you call Denise, she is lovely to speak to! If you have hesitations doing this and needed that extra review or sign to help you pull the trigger, consider this your sign!! This experience is definitely the ride of your lifetime! In a few words to describe it: exhilarating, jaw dropping, breathtaking! I took my boyfriend here for his big 3-0 to do something big and surprising and he had the BEST TIME of his life. Initially, I had booked a doors off helicopter ride which would have been great as well, but I'm so glad I chose this instead because you truly get a hands on experience with a flight lesson while seeing probably all the same things (if not more) as a helicopter ride. Not to mention you get to feel like a bird soaring in the sky the whole time! We were lucky to be able to fly together at the same time and it was amazing to see him grinning ear to ear the whole 45 minutes. If you have any fear or hesitations- don't! Tom has been in the business for MANY years and knows exactly what he's doing. A true professional. He walked me through everything from the slightly bumpy parts of the ride (wind tunnels because of the canyons/mountains) to all the beauty you're about to see beneath you - he even offered great suggestions of places to visit afterwards! Lastly, if you want an experience where you can literally fly into/above a sea of clouds and experience probably what it feels like to be in heaven like in the movies, well this is the experience where you'll feel like a little kid again with that feeling of awe and amazement for what your eyes will take in! We had our first flight yesterday at 815am. My husband flew with Tommy and I flew with Denise. It was the most fun we have had in a long time. The flight suits and gear are very comfortable and fit well. I flew more than half the time we were in the air. It is very easy to maneuver. My husband had a smile from ear to ear when he landed. We got the complete package video pictures, T-shirt. We clocked 1.2 hours of flight time and we will be adding more as soon as we can. Wow, what an incredible experience!!! Tom really knows how to make your Powered Hang-Gliding flight one to remember. From the moment you step into the hanger, Tom and his wife Heidi provide a first-class experience. Once Heidi gets you signed in and geared up, Tom makes sure you feel comfortable and safe, and once you hear about his years of experience, you know that you are. And within minutes you're in the air, soaring above Oahu's north shore, soaking in the beauty of the clear blue ocean with its impressive waves and beautiful coral below. All with Oahu's spectacular and lush hills and volcanos to your south at all times too. And not only do you get to fly the hang glider, Tom provides one heck of a tour. *TIP: Denise's written directions were SUPER accurate and really helpful. On the drive up to the hangar, we did check if it matched with the Google maps directions and it did - so either one works. Where do I even begin?! This will always and forever be the most unforgettable experience I have ever had! The flight was life-changing, and the people that took care of us (Denise, Tom, and Heidi) was what made Paradise Air have a special place in my heart. THE HANGAR: (before the flight) The hangar was very easy to find, but we honestly would not have found it if it was not for Denise's directions lol. As we were walking to the hangar, we were just in awe! The vibrant colors and exhilarating base jumping/free falling pictures already made it so fun! Heidi gave us a warm and friendly welcome to help set us up prior to our flight while Denise and Tom were still in the air - aka helmet fitting and paperwork that was actually a really fun read (not kidding!) She shared so much positive energy that made us feel comfortable and excited. She also shared with us some awesome stories behind the pictures of Denise's and Tom's crazy adventures. What a power couple! #goals lol While waiting, we finally saw Denise and Tom with their gliders pulling up into the hangar - this was when I started to feel so nervous! They greeted us with a big hug and that's when I knew that I liked them already. Their energy was what made me feel extra comfortable and I think that is so very important. Once we put on our jumpsuits and helmets, it was time to get on the gliders. Heidi was nice enough to take pictures of us with our touristy cameras as we strapped on to get ready for our ride (we had 3 lol) THE FLIGHT: (from takeoff to landing) I was lucky enough to be paired with Denise for the flight - she just seemed super fun and I was not wrong. She made me feel comfortable from the beginning until the end. I was a little nervous for the takeoff, but she helped and talked me through it. Quite the adrenaline, but we were up in the air in no time. *Just a note: YOU ARE THE PILOT! I would forget here and there that I was the one taking Denise out for a ride, but she was nice enough to take control of the flight when I asked her to. (tysm!) I did also have control of the flight most of the time, but I noticed that Denise really wanted me to get the full experience, so it was nice that she trusted me enough to let me take control. Once we took off, oh man...THE VIEW, THE OCEAN, THE WHOLE ISLAND, EVERYTHING, ALL OF THE ABOVE - what an incredible experience! It is so hard to explain what it felt like to be up there especially with your left and right side out in open air. The view of the whole side of the island was just beautiful. It was just so much to take in - with the clear, blue waters and green mountains of Oahu - I can honestly stay up there forever. During our flight, Denise also was kind to recommended many places for our next visit. To beaches, restaurants, boutiques, etc. She was also trying to get the best pictures and shots during our flight which was pretty awesome. As much as I didn't want the flight to end, it was time to land. I was nervous because she was giving me instructions as if I was going to do it all by myself but of course, she helped me through it (it was mostly for the pictures lol) Smoothest landing ever - I felt like a boss! POST-FLIGHT: (back on land, return to the hangar) I was really sad when my 30 minute flight ended. I felt really confident flying on my own after Denise's flight instructions. This time was also the exciting part because you get to view your pictures and videos. It delivered the best quality pictures that were worth getting so you can look back at that unforgettable memory. Paradise Air was worth every minute, penny, and cheek muscle aches from so much smiling. A big thank you goes out to the team for making this experience unforgettable. Looking for an adrenaline rush that doesn't make you feel like you're risking your life?!? This is it! Paradise Air has created the coolest experience I had on Oahu. And I went snorkeling, surfing, cliff jumping, binge eating, hiking, binge eating, boogie boarding and did I mention eating? Such a thrill riding/learning to fly the motorized hang glider. You feel like you're on a trike bike which suddenly takes off down the runway and lifts up. It's like you're floating on air. The pilots my hubby and I each had were super cool! They're completely real and down to earth despite being way up in the air. They take tons of pictures while you're flying and you don't even know that's happening half the time. As you're getting this amazing view of pineapple plantations, waterfalls and the north shore, the pilot is also teaching you how to fly the hang glider. Which means once you land, you've got a certificate of 1 hour towards your pilot license! Wha what?! So cool. This really was an epic and unforgettable experience. If you find yourself in Oahu, this is one of those experiences you do not want to pass up. And for any of you scaredy cats out there, I'm telling you I felt incredibly safe the entire time, even when the pilot let ME take over flying the thing! I had a moment of butterflies when I pictured myself crashing the hang glider. But I was reassured over and over throughout the flight how safe it was. So get over your fears, try something new and get up there! My hubby and I arrived about 5am. Bright and early. Well, at least early. We met the pilots, saw the hang gliders, got fitted for our gear and watched a safety and training video. An hour later we were lining up on the runway and up in the air. Racing down the runway in two sea parade gliders was so cool. Nice and easy liftoff then floating over Paradise. So glad we did this! FYI, this experience took place in October of 2018. The following spring, my best friend and her hubby were in the air with the same pilots. They were blown away! Spread the word my friends. This is awesome! read more

The best experience we have had in Hawaii! The view is absolutely beautiful and honestly probably better than a helicopter ride because you get an unobstructed windowless view of the island with this open glider. We've done parasailing and sky diving and this one was our favorite out of all of them. The pictures were also really high quality and the instructors and Heidi did a wonderful job in getting us great photos both before and during the flight! If my husband and I were only able to choose to do just one activity to do in Hawaii, it would be this one! read more

An amazing experience, my favorite one in Hawaii and actually perhaps an all time favorite! I was a bit scared prior to arriving but was treated with such care and kindness, I felt very safe. Even better, the whole flight was incredibly smooth and comfortable - got a nice suit keeping you warm on. Jeni made the whole experience really easy, fun and safe. Our 17 year old died in a crash on Nov 5, 2022, along with the pilot, Marc. I feel for his wife. Of course there is no trace of Marc on their web site - it will hurt their business. They went up and 30 mins later they were gone. Paradise has revised their site since then. It includes, "But the aircraft are only as safe as the people flying them." FOUL! We will not know the cause for a year or more. Regardless of the why, Marc was supposedly their friend. REMOVE IT. I WILL check. I find the comment disgusting, and a way to remove owning that it was their company. Also, know that this activity is so risky, NO Insurance Company offers insurance. There is NO commercial Ins. Google how many accidents there are. If you are comfortable, enjoy. Just know what you are getting into. Russian roulette, in my humble opinion. Speaking out bc I DON'T like their handling of the tragic event of Nov 5 accident for us or Marc. read more

Heidi and Tom were so knowledgeable on everything and also very nice. They also provided snacks and drinks. Nothing was rushed at all. The take off was very good and landing was even better. I'm usually afraid of height and turbulence but this experience is incredible and amazing! I can't say enough good things about my pilot Tom, he is so reliable and good at flying. What's more, Tom is very humorous and cared about my feelings during the whole flight which relieves me a lot. We flew around the North Shore of Oahu Island, Tom also explained a lot about the local views and recommended the beaches and places to go at North Shore. Besides that, I also appreciate Denise for her patient guidance and instructions and taking good photos! I really recommend trying this if you have plans to go to the North Shore of Oahu. I want to be perfectly clear in response to Denise's comment. Our son who was killed November 5 was NOT a student pilot. He had no interest in that. He didn't want to fly. He was simply there for the enjoyment of the ride. Denise has to say he was a student because entertainment rides are not allowed by law, yet they happen every day. And she KNOWS that. She has no choice but to call him a student, even though reporters, FAA, and others recognize he was not there to learn how to fly. It's too bad she feels the need to misrepresent the facts to save her business which should be SHUT DOWN! read more

What can I say about Denise that hasn't been said already!? My boyfriend and I flew with Paradise Air literally less than 24 hours after arriving on O'ahu. I'm an adventure seeker and this was the perfect fit for us. While I initially contacted PA because of their awesome reviews and option to fly couples up together, we ended up flying one by one with Denise because her husband Tom was unavailable due to a recent surgery. A little bummed but definitely didn't deter us from booking with them. We arrived and a super nice lady by the name of Heidi was assisting another customer who had already flown. The good thing about PA is that they don't overbook and they take the time to assist their customers from beginning to end. Filling out disclosures, answering questions, making conversation, and getting to know you! After being on the island for 7 days now we've experienced the highly commercial side of Waikiki and the interaction with Denise and Heidi was definitely quite the opposite of a "tourist trap". Pricing was similar to a skydiving adventure; however, the flight, the views, the flight lesson, the duration, the safety, and the thoroughness we experienced with PA is priceless and incomparable to any other! Best. Experience. Ever! The highlight of our trip. Originally my boyfriend and I we were going to go on a helicopter ride over Oahu, but I am SO happy that went hang gliding at Paradise Air instead. Hang gliding is so much more intimate. I went on the website and email Denise all of our information and she promptly called me back to give me available dates. She was so friendly and personable. She emailed me directions which were very helpful and lead us right to their hanger, bright and early. We are both not a big fan of heights and were feeling nervous before we got there. Denise and her husband Tom made us feel so comfortable and at home and calmed us down completely with their understanding of the process. The take off was very gentle. The flight was incredible to say the least! A picture says 1,000 words- look and you'll see. 45 minutes flew by. Denise and Tom are very knowledgeable about hang gliding and gave us so many awesome suggestions about places to go around the North Shore. Their helper- Heidi - even gave us a map with circled activities! I highly encourage you to give it a try. Even if you're not a fan of heights! This was hands down the #1 must do while in O'ahu! I was lucky enough to have been squeezed in as the last flight of the day after originally having conflicts in our schedules and boy am I glad that was the case as I was lucky enough to extend my original 30 minute introductory lesson to the full hour flight. Once in the air you don't want to come back down because not only are you having fun but you're also learning the basics to powered hang gliding and retaining very good info while practicing all at the same time! Best experience! You cannot leave O'ahu without having tried Paradise Air with Tom and Denise! I originally went on my flight lesson on March 23, but upon my revisit to the island this month, I booked for my friend to do his lesson on May 21, and he surely wasn't disappointed! Tracy also does an amazing job of keeping you entertained and fitted while you wait for your turn for the flight lesson. Wow. This was such an awesome experience! Tom and Denise are absolutely wonderful owners/instructors of their business. They really love what they do, and they really love their customers. I spent my birthday morning with them doing a sunrise flight, and I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible it was. I am afraid of heights, and flying, but wanted to do something big for my birthday. So glad I found them and chose to do this. I really had the best time ever. Not only would I recommend this excursion to my friends and family, but I cannot wait to do this again! I booked 2 months in advance and I do recommend booking early. I don't even know how to start off writing this review. Tom and Denise has provided me an unforgettable experience with my first powered hang gliding! From the scheduling to the actual lesson, they both guided me with friendliness and ease. Although Paradise Air provided me a detailed driving directions, getting there was actually easier than I thought using my phone's GPS. The only thing I was worried about was the weather since I only went to Oahu just for this adventure back in September 2015. I highly suggest to go with the one-hour lesson, you will never regret it. ONE OF THE BESTEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. Denise, Tom and Brienne are amazing people, extremely professional, kind and experienced. This was hands down the best part of my trip and the views from the ride were simply unreal, magnificent and marvelous. So happy we found them, from the moment we went there Brienne made us feel so comfortable just like a family. They own an adorable dog name IPO with whom I played almost entire 4 hours we were there. I still miss her, she is super cute. I did my ride with Denise and she is a sweetheart, gave so much information about the place and my flight was safe, exciting and absolutely splendid. We flew over 3000ft and saw almost entire north shore. Both Denise and Tom are best at what they do and extremely experienced people. We love you guys. MUST MUST MUST DO experience if you are in Oahu. Highly recommend them and if you ask me this place deserve 100 stars. read more

Tom and Denise are amazing! Unfortunately our flights were booked during the weekend Obama was coming in and of course that entails stricter flight regulations. They informed us that we wouldn't be able to do the 60 minute ride the day we were originally scheduled. But they then informed us that there was an opening for the week before. Thankfully we live here so we were pretty flexible and could accommodate the change in schedule. After the reschedule, we received an email with instructions on what to wear, what to bring and a link with directions to the airfield. It was very detailed although we had already both been there so it wasn't too difficult to find. The hangar was pretty easy to spot since both of the trikes were out. We headed over and were immediately welcomed with hugs. Denise and Tom were extremely knowledgeable about the island as the both of us pointed out things we had never seen before. And it wasn't at all uncomfortable having a conversation with them. They have those personalities that make you feel like you've been friends for forever. The trike ride itself was amazing and I saw more than I knew existing up in north shore. Even saw someone getting shacked at pipe from the skies! You can steer as much or as little as you want. They don't pressure you to fly if you're not comfortable and they continuously check how you're doing if you do decide to steer. We were lucky to go on a very still morning so for the most part it was smooth sailing. I would definitely recommend going on the earlier flights for this reason. Upon our arrival back at the airfield we were able to view both our videos and pictures before we purchased them. We helped ourselves to coffee as we waited for the DVDs to burn. It was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend it over skydiving. And if you're sitting here reading this debating on whether or not it's worth it? Don't. It's so worth it if you can afford it. They do offer various discounts so don't hesitate to ask about them. And I would go with the 60 minute flight. You just see so much more than you would on the shorter flights. What're you waiting for?? read more

I have been watching these powered gliders fly over me for a couple years. After seeing them for so long I decided to go myself. When I was making the reservation Denise was so nice and enthusiastic about me coming with them on a flight. I choose the sunrise flight and was the first customer of the day. When I checked in Both Denise and Tom were there as well as another staff member. Everyone was so nice. It felt like I was hanging out with old friends. Tom was my pilot and did an amazing job. He explained everything that was going on from take off to landing. This was without a doubt one of the coolest experiences of my life. I will be back again for sure. This is by far the best activity that I have done on Oahu, and have a hard time thinking up a more exciting, beautiful yet safe activity that we have done anywhere. We heard about Paradise Air from the very strong recommendation on "Oahu Revealed, " and booked the 30 minutes flight for my 12-year-old son and me. Denise and Tom were our pilots, and we were in the air at the same time, so I could see my son's gliders for many parts of the flight. A few things that I remembered that made our flights such an incredible experience: 1. Friendly, helpful and super competent staff: From Brienne in the office to Denise and Tom, our pilots, the entire staff was an impressive combination of friendliness and competence. They clearly know what they were doing, yet very thorough, reassuring, and informative in all of their communications. We felt in good hands the entire time. 2. Great equipment: the crafts looked to be in great shape, and it was reassuring to hear both Tom and Denise spoke knowledgeably about assembling and maintenance of the machines. I want folks who care about their equipments when up that high in the air. 3. GREAT FLIGHT: And of course the flight!!! We were up high fast, and it was just amazing seeing the view of the entire North Shore, Waimea Valley and Falls from the air. Unlike a helicopter flight, we were out in the open and feel part of the environment - amazing! The most incredible part was that I was able to, with Tom's coaching, control the gliders for big parts of the flight. It was great to be able to steer the craft to what I wanted to see, and at the same time feel what is is like to flight a glider - something I have not done before. Having done this, I am going to seek this out in other places instead of helicopter flights - much more exciting. 4. Safety: I appreciated the focus Tom and Denise placed on explaining how to keep the flight safe - being able to glide to landing zone under loss of power, parachutes for more difficult situations, etc... All in all, I wholeheartedly recommended the activity with Paradise Air and Tom and Denise. Looking forward to taking this flight again if we can next time in Oahu, and inspired to think about learning to do this myself at some point. Thank you for an amazing experience! read more
