Fellipe Valadao Wing Foil Paradise Hawaii I'm an old windsurfer from the '80's that hasn't been on the water in a decade but the look of wing foiling peaked my interest. Fellipe was able to accommodate our same day request, and was able to meet us at a perfect spot, with surf boards that fit each one of us and an amazing helper, Juan. Bot of them gave us so much confidence and made the whole lesson one fun and bonding adventure. I strongly urge anyone considering taking a lesson from Fellipe to not do so. I have seen him conduct unsafe, disrespectful, and illegal activities on his jet ski in the ocean as recently as December 10th, 2025. He and his tow partner were breaking the law while tow surfing through me and my two friends repeatedly and then once we confronted him and his partner, they did not feel they were doing anything wrong. It was the most blatand disregard for our safety, respect, and the law I've ever seen in my 24 years of surfing the outer reefs on Oahu's North Shore. read more

Kiteboarding Paradise Hawaii and the owner, Fellipe, made me feel incredibly comfortable and safe throughout my kiteboarding experience. My first lesson was a group lesson that was focused primarily on learning wind direction and kite control. After that I took several private lessons where were built on these concepts in a very structured manner focused on theory, being shown how it's suppose to be done then attempting to do it myself with guidance then performing it on my own with supervision by the instructor from shore. A few lessons later, I'm able to get up on the board and kiteboard. I feel incredibly confident in myself and am so excited to be able to grow my skills with this fun new hobby. The cost of the lessons covers all the gear you need to rent during the lesson such as the kite, life vest, harness, and board. I don't normally write reviews but KiteboardingParadiseHawaii was so great I wanted to support a local small business. My WingFoil instructor, Fellipe, was amazing. He was professional, friendly, safety conscious and always on time. I was only in Hawaii for one week and Fellipe helped me plan my lessons to get the maximum benefit and save time/money. He was extremely knowledgeable about both the locations and gear we were using, this wasn't his first rodeo. There are a lot "just okay" instructors on-island, but how Fellipe really impressed was because he himself was an expert waterman, knew kiting, foiling, winging inside and out. What also sets him apart from the from rest was his teaching ability, always with clear and calm explanations. If you are on the fence about pulling the trigger on lessons, just do it, you won't regret it! Fellipe is a great teacher. I can't say enough! I'm a Kite Surfer who already had the basics of foiling down, but I wanted to learn to foil surf. We went out on a Jetske, one on one and I was able to get in a lot of practice. We had all the right safety gear so I felt comfortable too. FELLIPE was able to give me lots of tips and great instruction! I highly recommend this before you go out and buy your own equipment. It was a great way for me to dial-in my skills so I know what I need to purchase next. If I hadn't of done this I probably would've ended up buying some beginner gear that six months into this I would've wanted to trade out. So it was a great shortcut to the learning curve! read more

Fellipe taught me how to ride a hydro-foil board today! Wow! It was a very unique feeling, gently gliding a foot or so above the warm water, smooth as silk, whisper quiet. One of those "firsts" I'll always remember. Super fun and exhilarating! I've watched Fellipe paddle out and surf the waves on his surfboard hydro-foil. He makes it look easy. I've also watched him kiteboard on his hydro-foil. Again, he makes it look effortless and smooth. He's crossed the open ocean from Molokai to Oahu on a hydro-foil and kite, better than 40 miles, so I knew he had an incredible depth of knowledge about the ocean and ocean sports that he could share with me as a teacher. When Fellipe approached me about taking a foiling lesson, I was intrigued by the idea that he could teach me to hydro-foil by pulling me behind a wave runner watercraft. His explanation of the benefits of learning this way would be that I could learn very quickly and effectively without the distractions of trying to get the right waves or wind, minimal gear needed, and we would be in a calm one-on-one environment without any distractions in order to focus on the lessons. Plus, it's Hawaii--freakin' beautiful! We met at the dock where he slid the wave runner into the ocean, briefed me on the safety systems, basic operation of the watercraft, safety vests, etc. He rigged the hydro-foil, explained the basic theory, body position, subtle hip movements, and related what he had already gathered about me and my personal background to how it would apply to riding the hydro-foil. His knowledge as an experienced teacher of how to ask you specific questions, gather information about your personal background, and draw out of you the skills you already posses from other activities which you can relate directly to the new task at hand--in this case riding a hydro-foil--is where Fellipe truly impressed me. He made it so simple because he listened to me, related what I needed to know, and then explained it the way I could understand. And then... we went out on the water, he demonstrated, talked me through the process, and viola! Now I can hydrofoil! Simple. If you're visiting Hawaii, or you're already here, and you want to learn how to do something and have lots of fun with a fun person while you're learning to do it, or just brushing up your skills, or maybe upping your game to the next level because you want to challenge yourself, Fellipe can show you the way. Any of the ocean sports. Surf. Kite. SUP. Brazilian water ballet? Ask him. Or, maybe you just need local knowledge of the surf breaks, currents flowing around the island so you're safe out there. Fellipe is an INCREDIBLE instructor! Knowledgeable, clear, patient. It's so obviously that he genuinely cares about his students and safety. I took 3 lessons with him over the course of a week or so and by the end he had me up on the board and flying the kite with confidence. I had never tried kiteboarding before and now I'm hooked! Fellipe started with the foundations and safety (which is reallyyy important! Don't skimp on that part by trying to find a shorter lesson!) We covered everything from gear and "preflight" checks, to protocol for safely launching and landing your kite on land, and how to be safe on the water with other kiters. I couldn't recommend him more!! This was the highlight of my whole month in Hawaii! If you're on the fence or doing research to compare instructors, look no further. You are in great hands. 2 stars- could've been better: For beginner surf lesson I don't recommend. Took a small group lesson and was told it would be a $100 per person for 2 hour session. The lesson was only 1 hour and when we asked he said the others were getting tired, turned out none of us were and all felt slighted. Instruction was minimal and all we did was get pushed to catch baby waves off the shoreline. We paid him $400 for one hour and nobody actually learned any skills to set us up for success for our next surf session. He stood in the wanter, we paddled to him and he pushed us, that was it. Fellipe may be more into teaching intermediate or advanced surf, kiteboarding or foil. I don't recommend him for first time beginner surfing. He is super nice but that doesn't do much for beginner surfing. read more

Kind of overdue review but I'm always a procrastinator -- unlike others I took a regular surfing lesson (not kitesurfing) with Fellipe after meeting him in the water. The great thing about him is that' he's pretty much good at EVERYTHING IN THE WATER ! He's super nice and accommodating which is good when I wanna learn to surf with 2 kids and a full time job. He's also a great cheerleader which makes you feel good on the wave :D i really felt more comfortable standing on the board by the end of the session.
