Never use GoToGate I booked ticket for my family including infant child. I had a change into plan and needed to cancel 1 persons ticket. It turn out to be nightmare for me. Followed up for 2 months and 22 days but without any success. Only response I got from GoToGate is that internal team is working in ticket, Infant child needs to be associated with mother before we can cancel your ticket. Even when only less than 24 hours left in the scheduled flight, response did not changed. Finally I had to request airline to take control of ticket and request the changes. I was into risk where my family would have been denied boarding at airport due to infant child associated with person wanted to cancel the ticket. I have found GoToGate extremely frustrating to deal with. I booked a multi-stop trip in April 2023 - Canada --- Cambodia --- Philippines --- Canada. The day after arriving in Cambodia, I received an email saying that my flight to the Philippines had been canceled and automatically rebooked for 4 days later, and giving two options: (1) accept the flight change, or (2) cancel. Since my stay in the Philippines was only scheduled to be 4 days, I obviously chose to cancel. The confirmation email about the cancelation did not contain any flight details whatsoever. I booked a new flight to the Philippines, finished my business there, and at 11 P.M. the night before departing back to Canada, I tried to check in for my flight home and wasn't able. I called Korean Airlines and learned that GoToGate had not only canceled my flight to the Philippines, but HAD ALSO CANCELED THE ENTIRE REST OF MY BOOKING. Re-iterating, the cancelation confirmation email gave absolutely NO indication that anything but the Philippines flight had been canceled. I had been having trouble with my credit cards during my trip and was very lucky to be able to purchase a ticket in Manila the following day. Not only did this error and poor communication cause a lot of stress, the rebooking(s) also cost me several hundred dollars, and could very easily have left me stranded for several days. It's now 6 weeks since my flight was canceled, and 2 weeks since I received confirmation of refund, and the money has yet to appear back on my credit card. Their contact streams are limited and seem designed to make it difficult to get in touch. There is no chat option on their website - at least not through my account - and the only phone number they provide is not toll-free. So, as a Canadian, my only option to contact them is to pay long-distance charges. GotoGate (through Booking.com) have been highly unprofessional and unethical in resolving my genuine request for a refund. It is now three months on and I am still battling a legitimate request for a refund for a Qantas flight I booked through booking.com, aka GotoGate. The OS flight in July was completely cancelled by the airline after a 48 hours delay, with customers told at 1:30am to make own arrangements to get home (stressful already). Being ping-ponged between booking.com and GotoGate (QANTAS gets its own 1 star review!) I was told in Sep by GtoG I would not be refunded without further explanation. After another dozen phone calls on numbers I had to dig up on their website, emails to addresses provided by the sales assistants that bounced (and one reply written in German) and promises my case has been escalated, I am still waiting; out of pocket for the new flight I had to book to get home, the original flight AND interest on my credit card for three months! I will take further action if I get knocked back again. This has been unnecessarily stressful, financially difficult and time wasting. Although some of the sales reps have been polite and empathetic, they do not provide any names of people or contacts to deal directly with one rep. SCAM company ZERO STARS Booked a round trip flight, received an update that the flight plans were changed by the airline. When I contacted them to rebook the return flight I was told that they were changing the flight and paid the $30 rebooking fee. I was told I would receive the updated booking information within an hour or two. After 6 hours I called back and was told I needed to cancel and rebook the flight. The cancellation fee was $75. I told the rep I found the flight I wanted on THEIR site for $160. They said if I pay the cancellation fee I would be able to use the credit for the $160 flight plus would have credit left over for future use. I would receive the credit within 24-48 hours. After 3 days I called and was told that I wouldn't get a credit voucher but that they can rebook for me and use the credit but the ticket was $300 more than what my credit was worth. I said at this moment I have the flight pulled up on my screen for $175 (it had gone up $15 over the 3 days) which my credit would cover if you can please just give me the credit voucher code and I will do it myself. They said they cannot do that but only THEY can book it for me for additional fees. I said I booked my original ticket on my own through the website. It is a total scam. I did everything they said, and everything they said was a complete lie. Oh, and they hung the phone up on me multiple times. NOT a legitimate business. I bought round trips to Nicaragua during summer with Gotogate - first of all, the price was WAY more than what it would be if you buy from actual airlines. I had to get it through them since the airlines had no more flights I needed. I did the Covid PCR test, got to the airport hours earlier to not leave anything to chance and the airline did not let me board - THEY SAID GOTOGATE HAD NOT "ACTIVATED" my name on the flight (what that means, months later I do not know). The airline Avianca told me that I should call Gotogate and see what's happening - so I called their customer serice (which is mainly in other countries) and spent HOURS waiting for someone to pick up. By then, I had missed my flight. When they picked up, they had no idea of what was going on and offered no help. Literally none. I have since called at least 20 times, asked for a refund, or even a simple explanation. Every time I called, a different rep would give me a bullish*t reason just to say something because I would not let them off the phone without an answer. They said that it was 1 because I didn't do the PCR Covid test (BUT I DID! I showed them the email confirming and showing how they even confirmed that they had received my results), then they said it was for X reason. I debunked them again. Then Y reason. After a while they admitted to not knowing what happened BUT WOULD NOT REFUND ME. I had to call Chase and request a refund for scam - which Chase understood. Just don't. It's a surprise that google flights listed them as a site to book from. Instead of booking straight from VIVA Aerobus like I should have, I decided to try and save FOUR DOLLARS and book through gotogate. They were there listed on google flights (an engine I've never had issues with) so I figured it was legit. I found out the same day that my daughter couldn't take the flight because she's 17. Other airlines would let her make that international flight alone, but not Viva Aerobus, a Mexico-based airline. Fair enough, they easily did the refund because it was done within 24 hours. But the refund was made to a card number with a last four I didn't recognize. That card belonged to the agents at GOTOGATE. Per their protocol, you pay them, then they use their card to pay the airline. If and when the airline issue a refund, GOTOGATE gets the money, and at that point they're free to penalize that money any way they see fit. Even though VIVA Aerobus gave a full refund because of the 24 hour clause which most airlines are using, GOTOGATE decided that they had to charge me $57 because of the cancellation. Even though I had even purchased their cancellation protection. They said that was only comprehensive, and didn't apply to this situation. Fact is... this is bad business. If the airline gives you a full refund, I should get all my money back. Period. Save yourself the few bucks, and the trouble, and the issue of calling someone at their call center who barely speaks English. Called back after checking again wth the airline to see if there was anything they could do, this particular representative says the refund "handling fee" is actually $71 USD.
