I did some Christmas shopping here after having dinner on Moody one winter night (that felt like spring, or maybe it was just the wine. . .) The women were so friendly and will tell you about the artists that make different pieces, from local to south american talent. They lovingly packaged up the choices I selected after an hour was spent shopping and chatting. I left feeling educated about where the art I purchased came from in addition to feeling good about supporting real talent, the artists as well as the owners of this boutique. I was disappointed with the service at this store. A lady working there told us, "this place is for skinny people," and then laughed. The comment made me feel awkward and uncomfortable, so we decided to leave. I think customers should be treated with respect regardless of their size or appearance. Overall, the items in the store were okay, but the experience with the staff really affected our visit. read more

I guess for the past decade I've walked by this shop without even a second thought. On this particular day (while we were waiting in line for Lizzie's) my little one saw frogs and pigs (handcrafted decorations) outside of the store so we decided to go in- we are so glad that we did. Taylor is simply wonderful and she welcomed us into the store. My son said that it was like a dream for him as he was met with a ton of frog trinkets and cool items that peaked his interest. The price was more than reasonable and the selection is phenomenal! Taylor was so sweet and allowed us to be there a little bit later bc my son was so fascinated with their frog selections, so we ended up with a very original card ( I do not think you can get this on other online establishments) and a frog puppet. We appreciate Taylor and the selected rarer items in this store- we will definitely be back! read more

Love Gourmet Pottery-- always seems to have something thoughtful and unexpected for adults or children. This eclectic boutique has the best greeting cards in the area. Stop wasting your time at CVS it ain't gonna happen. Just come here to get the prettiest cards that will certainly make the recipient feel special. The store is a visual feast for the eyes with unique pottery and beautiful gifts displayed all around the store. The owner clearly has a great sense of humor with some fun and kitchy gifts like the Degas Ballerina Flip book and finger puppets. There's also some jewelry and even funky star lanterns. read more

Offering so much more than just pottery, this shop is one of my favorite local places for buying artsy-looking gifts. In addition to having a great supply of cards, the items for sale here have that perfect blend of style and sass. Both the shopkeeper and her son are super-friendly. You can't help but smile as they make small talk with you. They'll gladly giftwrap your purchases, too. And as a self-professed wrapping snob, I can attest that they do a lovely job. This is an A+ gift shop, and I'm really glad it has hung on through Covid. Moody Street needs a shop like this, and it's even better that it's not full of mass-produced stuff. It's obvious that the items are chosen with care. Best selection of cards ANYWHERE! I love this store! Whenever I need a gift or card, this is my go to place for something special. This store has a huge variety of unique gifts so you're guaranteed to find something wonderful. Most recently, I bought a beautiful hand blown oil candle that was made by a local artist in Rhode Island with great smelling grapefruit oil. Owner Dinny Myerson offers the work of potters and other artists from Massachusetts, Maine and across America as well as some tasty imports. This shop is like a bricks-and-mortar wish book. Every time we eat at Red Bird next door, we stop by Gourmet Pottery. The 1st time we walked by, I was mocking the store. I remember saying to my girlfriend "who buys this junk"? We walked in and I found 20 cool things I did not need but loved. It is the coolest mixture of eclectic "things". Very fun to shop there. Not only does this place have wonderful, unique, and handmade art from the United States, but it has the atmosphere to go with it. The beautiful pieces and hand crafted trinkets that you know you can't find in most other stores, are accompanied by an equally as unique and inviting atmosphere. This place has the kind of snug and warming feel that one gets when walking into their hometown after a long time abroad. I enjoyed browsing through this unique shop when I visited Waltham in 2012. I'm a sucker for any sort of shops selling gifts, arts, crafts, or any unique items, and the staff were very helpful, explaining which items were made by local artisans and artists.
