Wow! They took such great care of us with americanos, lattes and croissants this morning to get us on our way! Really appreciate how patient they were either us and their drinks and pastries were outstanding! Highly recommend and coming from Seattle, where coffee snobs are abundant, they are worth their weight in gold! Kudos to them!

Gourmet Tart Co. blows other Irish bakeries out of the water. The understated decor inside and out only add to my fascination. This bakery doesn't need to waste time making the place all fancy because the food speaks for itself. What compelled me to come in was the bowl of raspberry meringues on display in the front window. They looked so good that I wanted to buy one. Unfortunately they were all sold out. I had to settle for a pain meringue which tasted deliciously sweet. The crispy swirl revealed a gooey creamy interior. So much pleasure for only 50 cents! Although I didn't buy anything else, I saw freshly baked croissants and bread. There was a coffee counter as well that served americanos, lattes and cappuccinos, all for standard prices (2 Euro and up). Tart Co is great for breakfast or light snacks and because it's located off the main shopping street, there weren't too many people inside.

Went in on a windy and cold early May morning and got a warm and flaky chocolate croissant.

It was absolutely a treat. Delightful food, nice welcome and perhaps the tightest seating in what…read moreis likely the smallest cafe I've ever dined in. There's much more room in their restroom. I was literally stuck in my micro seat with my tummy wedged by the table. I've never been so trapped since I was in Giza's largest pyramid - the pyramid of Khufu with a breeze of 50c wafting through. We paid at the counter first and our order was in turn delivered to our micro table. We got two cappuccinos, an apple turnover, or as they put it, chausson aux pommes and an almond croissant. Everything was so delicious and the turnover was buttery appley exceptional. Sliding doors stuff as I'd been in another cafe 5 minutes away earlier that day that I thought I'd lunch in but the coffee it the other place - the separately reviewed Gourmet Tart Co - wasn't good. Had I not tasted their coffee we would have lunched in the Tart place and not gone here. Some days are diamond.

The raspberry croissant had raspberry jam inside, which was interesting and pretty good. Have yet to try the turnover. The mint hot chocolate was nicely made and the lady was nice to offer to top it off with marshmallows and chocolate shavings. I tried the Apple turnover this morning and it was really good. Doesn't apply to this item since I ate it the next day, but in general, would be good to offer or have an option to warm the pastries.
