It seemed that once we showed that we were not going to be "pesky Americans" they softened up to us! Let me tell you, the food was superb. Probably our best meal we ate on our entire trip to Europe. We had a bruschetta appetizer, escargot, steaks and baked potatoes, and an apple dessert. The sour cream was homemade cream- amazing. Our waiter (one of the owners) informed us that the apples in our dessert came right off of a tree out back (he spoke a little bit of broken English and started trying to use it later in the meal to communicate a little better with us). If you are looking for some where with no tourists to have an amazing meal- look no further. If we ever go back to France and are able to take a trip out to Normandy again, we will absolutely eat here again.

Good thing that we did. It is relatively modestly priced, and the dishes are exactly what you would have expected a French restaurant to be: great taste, quality ingredients, interesting serving, cooked to the right level and the use of spices was just amazing - tasteful and yet very subtle. This was our first visit in Lisieux and in this restaurant, and we will come back again for sure when we are in the area again.
