It was in extremely poor shape. We contacted Joe the owner of Decks NJ and in a week or so he came by to give us an estimate and his vision of what we could do. We wanted to save some money and not remove the existing substructure and Joe had the integrity to be honest with us and tell us it was in workable shape. Joe listened to what we wanted and provided his expert opinion... (much if not all of which we agreed with). He went to work and sent us graphical drawings (which looked very real) and our new deck just jumped out at us. We had to have it! We negotiated a very fair price with Joe and he and his team spent the next few weeks building our dream deck. If you are looking for an artist who will listen to his customers and work very hard to please look no further. Joe and his team are meticulous about every detail and want the deck and the experience to be the best in the business.. it shows.

We knew we wanted Trex. At first we had George work out a 50/50 project to quote. My wife and I liked George right off of the bat. Great guy and knows his stuff. His price was right in line with the others. His knowledge and pictures of previous work, sold us. Once the deck was underway, George made some suggestions. Yes, it was more money and yes, I started to get overwhelmed with cost. That was one me, not George. His price was more than fair. So, at one point, we decided to go "all in" with Trex and lights and nice railings..... George's team was awesome. They were efficient and clean. There was never garbage strewn around our yard. The entire project took a week and the end result was WAY beyond what we originally hoped for. An added bonus was the way George built the support for the decking. Our town inspector put it best.... "The support for this deck is beyond code." When we started planning, there weren't a lot of reviews for Deck Experts which worried me. I wanted to make sure to publish a review for anyone with doubts. I would recommend George and his crew to anyone looking for a deck build or redo. When we told him that besides the painting we also needed carpentry (new to the area we didn't know anybody) he was able to find a person to work alongside to complete the carpentry in record time. He also demonstrated a good artistic ability for colors and esthetics. He made suggestions that save us expense. They prepared and painted the walls of the basement, garage and powder room. Installed and finished the baseboards in the basement, installed a frame and door to a closet, prepared and stained the stairs going to the basement and removed the carpet from the bedrooms' hallway and installed new wood floors. He acquired the paints and all the other supplies. All this work had to be done in a week and in the middle of the tragic pandemic environment. The quality of the work was first class.
