After 38 years in our "starter" home, it was time to update our too-small kitchen... we met with a couple of kitchen remodelers, but just didn't feel the fit was right - either the cabinet selections were not our taste, or we did not have confidence in the contractor. Then we were referred to Bob Dion of North Jersey Remodelers. From our first meeting with Bob and his son Chris, we were impressed with their straightforward honesty and approach to the project. Together, we sketched out our goals and some ideas... we talked, they listened; they talked we listened... Bob came back a couple weeks later with a plan and a detailed proposal that clearly stated what was included, what we were to supply, and what issues might incur additional cost. A great approach! We agreed on a potential start date, and Bob referred us to Excelsior Kitchens, a local vendor we were familiar with, for detailed design and to supply the cabinets. We decided to go ahead with the project. After a few design revisions with Stephanie Aluzzo of Excelsior, we reached a final design and ordered our cabinets in December. The work started in mid January, with Bob's sons Rob and Chris. Gutting the kitchen down to the studs; electrical rough-in, lighting installation, inspections, leveling the floor, Rob installed the floor tile... finally the cabinets arrived, and Rob began the installation. As often happens, things don't always go according to plan and we had to make some design changes. Rob handled these with confidence and grace and patience with our changes. They brought in a great finish carpenter - Keith Horn - to install the crown and light rail moldings, and he did a flawless job. Chris guided us through the process of choosing and ordering our granite countertop - and we would have been lost without his help! Rob then finished up with the subway tile backsplash. He too, is a perfectionist. We love our new kitchen! And we could not be happier with Bob, Rob, and Chris. They managed the project efficiently, coordinating all subcontractors, advising us throughout, and quickly adjusted to our changes with out complaint. read more

From the first phone to call to the final wipe down of the completed kitchen, Bob and Chris Dion were top notch the whole way. During their first visit, Chris got right to work taking measurements and they talked us through a number of options for a full redesign of our kitchen. A few days later, they walked us step-by-step through the plan and all of the costs. Their overall estimate was highly competitive and their pay-as-we-go approach gave us confidence that these were the rights guys for the job. Our renovation was scheduled to start in February 2023, but Bob reached out to us in November 2022 and said they could start in December if we wanted. So, instead of starting in February, our job was fully complete in February! The entire job took 8 weeks and along the way Chris did everything by the book and by the time he said he would. From contacting the town inspectors, to coordinating the plumber and electrician, to taking delivery of the appliances, Chris handled the logistics. While the final choices for floor tile, countertops, backsplash, etc. was always ours, Chris's input and pictures from previous jobs were consistently helpful. As for the work itself, it was top notch. He even helped us out with a couple of smaller jobs unrelated to the kitchen at entirely fair prices. Chris sweats the details and it shows in the final result. We're fully satisfied with our new kitchen and would not hesitate to hire them again. North Jersey Remodelers has continued to exceed our expectations. We worked with Chris and Bob back in 2021 with our kitchen renovation. We were so impressed with their professionalism, expertise, and patience, that we asked them to come back to renovate 2 bathrooms, living room and bedroom. All these rooms needed updating. The bedroom and living room needed additional work to get the walls and ceilings perfectly smooth. Both Chris and AJ worked tirelessly to correct the imperfections in these rooms. They removed carpet, laid vinyl tiles, and painted these rooms which brightened up the entire second floor. Next, the transformation in the second floor bathroom is just overwhelming to see. It is modern, light, airy and adding clear, frameless glass doors has really opened the space up. The folks at AMG Glass in Fairlawn were very helpful with this process. All three rooms tie in nicely to one another and I'm proud for anyone to come in and see. I will always use North Jersey Remodelers for future projects. Working from home and having a baking business out of my home means I am in my kitchen 80% of my days. Renovating was a big deal for us, the biggest thing we had ever planned on doing. I was obviously super nervous about the whole thing. So much went on with this project, ripping everything down to nothing and a complete redesign of the entire space. Over the years, we have had several different contractors do work for us. North Jersey Remodelers was by far the very best. There is no comparison. Chris remodeled our kitchen and during the renovation he found many things that have been done wrong over the years. I had North Jersey remodelers remodel my kitchen several years ago and decided to have them back for a new project! Chris D. added new custom cabinets to my dining room that we had matched perfectly to my kitchen that they completed about six years ago. He was even able to find the matching countertop to add a bartop, and matching backsplash! It tied my kitchen and dining room together beautifully! He also designed and finished the other half of my basement, adding a whole new bathroom with a beautiful stall shower, and a laundry room with a sliding barn door, all off a beautiful, new, extra wide hallway. We are so thrilled with the bathroom remodel that we completed with the help of North Jersey Remodelers. Great family owned business. Met with Bob in May 2021 to remodel our kitchen. He was extremely helpful with ideas to layout the kitchen to make the most use of our space. The proposal was organized so it was plain to see what they covered vs. my costs so we understood the full picture. Chris was the contractor who completed our project. He called and gave us the overall process flow to ensure we knew what to expect. He communicated every day what was accomplished that day and what to expect for the upcoming days. Bob, Rob and Chris are wonderful to work with. They remodeled my kitchen recently and did such a wonderful job. Rob was very easy to work with. They go over the contract in detail and work hard to keep within your budget. I like that they pass their contractors discount to their customers. We decided while the work was being done to add a skylight. Bob and Rob went through the whole process with my husband and I finding the best skylight, what size we should get and recommended where it should be placed. Rob made sure every aspect of my kitchen looked perfect and always cleaned up at the end of each day. A little back story to this review. When NJRs first came to our house in late Aug '22 they told us the earliest they could start our kitchen remodel would be late summer or early fall of '23. In the interim our kitchen pipes froze and broke. We told our plumber he didn't have to cover everything under the sink because we're getting it remodeled anyway. He asked, "When?" We told him what we were told. He said, "get another contractor." Well, we didn't and I'm telling you it was well worth the wait. Rob did a terrific job. Excellent Company! Chris installed our backsplash in our kitchen and did an amazing job! He was so professional and kept in constant communication from start to finish. Just had my very old bathroom gutted and remodeled. We couldn't be happier with the results. Bob came to our house and went over every detail. Rob did a fantastic job converting our old hall closet upstairs into a second full bathroom for our home. The job was done fast & professional & the results were amazing. The new bathroom is gorgeous; the tile work on the floor & in the shower is beautiful. They we're also very clear on when & what was being done & was going to be done next. Rob just finished my bathroom remodel and it came out just beautiful! I am very picky and he followed my design exactly with Quality Workmanship!! He also built a pantry closet which came out just great and meets all of my storage needs. Rob has been the best contractor that I have every worked with. My pet peeve is contractors who start jobs and disappear for days and no communication. Rob and I had good communication and were able to resolve the few issues (very little) that came up.
