Matt communicated consistently from start to finish, checked in regularly with updates, and never left us guessing about where things stood. When we needed to change direction on design decisions mid-project, he was patient and flexible without making us feel like an inconvenience. He also put real thought into the order and flow of the work, knowing that we were living in the house the entire time -- that kind of consideration isn't something you take for granted. When small things came up after the project was finished, Matt didn't hesitate to come back and make it right. Giovanni was responsive, reliable, honest and fair. He was very transparent about his pricing. He came on-site to give me an estimate and started working on some of the smaller handyman jobs such as adding my cabinet and drawer handle pulls, swapping out my master bathroom shower head for a shower head with a wand. He also hung four paintings/artwork for me. He even repaired one of my drawers that were installed incorrectly. I didn't even know it but it was greatly appreciated. I plan to get more work done under him. Awaiting his quote for the bigger jobs such as living room TV wall, adding stone ledgers in my master bathroom windows, recessed lighting, landscaping and a paint job. He cleaned up after he was done and he even apologized for not having his own handheld vacuum cleaner to get a precise cleaning job after his work was completed. He diagnosed the issue, determined the supply line that needed replacement and went straight to work. He cleaned the interior to ensure no mold would form, removed the wet drywall that I missed, replaced it, and painted & finished. By the end of the evening, my wall was as good as new. I also researched pricing with my co-workers beforehand (who were in the construction industry and certified in Xactimate) and he was right within the ballpark on pricing for labor and material. I would definitely call him again for any handiwork needed as I felt comfortable from beginning to end.

Moe extracted from my home handmade, unique shelf materials I designed, bought and paid for and refused to give it back or reinstall it without an add-on payment not approved and specifically denied by me. He didn't order enough materials twice causing additional freight charges. He would have done remodel without permits. He lacked knowledge regarding firewalls causing complications. Not there for all inspectors and/or deliveries. I will never use TBR again and wish I hadn't the first time.

I saw a few positive reviews of the company on Facebook, and someone in my neighborhood recommended them, so I hired them. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. The project went well at first. The carpenters (Armando and Ivan) were great, the hvac crew knew what they were doing, and the electricians did what they were supposed to do. The problem was the painters - they ruined the entire project and delayed the completion date by two weeks. The two gentlemen painters were unprofessional and disrespectful of my property, and their workmanship was dreadful. I did not receive the spray-painted smooth finish on my cabinetry because the painters botched the job. After their failed attempt at spray-painting, they resorted to rolling the paint and spoiled that as well. The owner of the company, Mario, mismanaged the project and allowed the mistakes to continue. He was rarely on-site and either 1) did not recognize the extent of the errors, or 2) did not care. I had to text him each evening with pictures of the issues that had to be fixed (dents, drips, scratches, items embedded in the paint, blue/green spackle showing through the paint, areas primed but not painted, etc.). At one point he sent his crew over for their tools and asked me if I wanted another company to finish the job. I realized then that he was threatening to walk off the job, and I knew I had to settle for the inferior work if I wanted to have cabinet and drawer fronts again. I could not fathom the idea that any company would be willing to come behind EGK Custom Homes and fix all the issues. It was a truly horrible experience, and I am still picking paint and primer overspray off my kitchen counters, stovetop, dishes, appliances, plasticware, etc. Luckily, Mario paid to have the paint removed from my vehicle - how did that even happen?? I have included a few sample photos of the painting fiasco. The first few photos were taken on September 17, 2020 - the first time Mario told me that they were done painting and they were going to install the doors and drawer fronts the next day. Each day after that, the painters would leave, and my daughter and I would mark their mistakes with tape so that they could see what to fix the next day. Obviously, I do not recommend EGK Custom Homes unless you only want woodwork done and zero painting. If that's the case, Armando and Ivan Pineda are excellent for all of your carpentry needs. I hope you all have a better experience with your remodel than I did.
