As it's a home based business I did not include their home address but they are in Surrey and very easy to get to from my side of the Pattullo Bridge. As I only have very limited time to decorate for the wedding, actually my friends have a very limited time frame to do it, I decided to get the chair covers and sashes professionally done for me. In researching for this one part that I am having a professional do, aside from catering, I was amazed at how expensive it is to have a chair covered and a sash added. It's also hard to find a place that covers folding chairs which is what is provided at the hall I am having my wedding ceremony and reception at. Today I went to the home of the owner, Gary Grewal, and it was so painless. It was easy to do the order and they have the colours I need. They do require a 25% deposit but I paid 50% because I want to get most of the costs out of the way before I get to the date. The home office was nicely set up and I feel very comfortable dealing with this company. I was most excited to see the price tag for Dream Decorators to provide this service. I am easily saving at least $1.50 per chair and in that savings I am not compromising any quality. If you need this kind of service for any event I would definitely recommend this company. UPDATE: Now that the wedding is over I will tell you that they were fantastic. Gary came in at 930 am to set up and was back at 11pm to take down. Granted most of my guests had helped before he got there but they were great and I will definitely recommend them!

After visiting the venue in person, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. Oana, who manages the venue, gave us a tour of the backyard and the house. Seeing it firsthand helped us visualize how we wanted to set things up. The outdoor space was ideal for the event itself. At the same time, the house provided a convenient and cozy option for us and our family to stay together, eliminating any worries about accommodation or travel time. The location is just far enough from Vancouver to feel like a peaceful escape, but close enough that it's easily accessible--only about a 45-minute drive. It ticked all the boxes for us. Venue Details: House rules: No shoes inside, and quiet hours start at 11 PM. Guests are responsible for cleaning up, trash/recycling and collecting towels in the laundry room. Pricing: The indoor house is $1,000 per night (5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms). Outdoor space prices vary by guest count: $135 per hour for up to 25 people, $165 per hour for up to 50 people. Rentals: They offer table and chair rentals (rectangular tables for 6 people, round tables also available) that can be added to your contract. Decor: Oana has decor available for rent, or you can bring your own. We loved the flexibility of choosing our own vendors, although they also provide recommendations. Before the wedding, we visited the farm one more time to finalize the layout and decor details. Oana was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process, and we were thrilled to have her as our day-of coordinator. Her knowledge of the venue and her experience made everything run smoothly. We stayed at the farm for two nights--one night before the wedding and the night of--which was a huge help. It gave us time to settle in, unpack, and handle some of the setup the day before. The house is spacious and lovely, there's room to take it easy and even a jacuzzi, One minor issue some of our guests mentioned was the house's septic system, which requires no tissues to be flushed to avoid a potential flood. Honestly, we found this to be a small sacrifice for such a beautiful venue. The Wedding Day: The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Oana played a key role in ensuring everything went off without a hitch. Our guests loved the venue, and many commented on the stunning views. It felt like our little hidden gem, and all our hard work paid off. The photos were breathtaking, especially with the unobstructed views of Golden Ears. In the end, Mountain View Farm was the perfect choice for an outdoor wedding. We were planning to have G&G Music DJ our wedding, but after working with them we don't plan to…read moreever do business with them again. We met with a particular member of G&G's staff on April 29, 2018 to discuss what we wanted for our wedding, and he seemed to be able to offer a lot of what we wanted just barely within our budget (likely because we told him our budget ahead of time - something we don't plan on doing again in the future). Things were sounding good, so we asked him to send us a formal quote. We received the quote a couple days later and found that there were numerous prices that were above what we were told at our meeting with G&G. There were also items on the quote we said we didn't want (such as a photo booth), among other issues. We contacted the individual we had met with and brought up our issues with the contract to him. In our email, we used a particular price inconsistency in the quote as an example: an item that we were told was $50 even at the meeting, which was now being quoted as "$70-$370". So, in the best case scenario the item would be $20 more than we were told, and in the worst case scenario it would be hundreds more (something we couldn't afford multiple instances of on top of all the other wedding expenses). Instead of apologizing for the confusion and working with us to make the quote more agreeable and clear for both parties, G&G responded by saying that "$50 was a rough starting price". The individual then proceeded to say that if we bundled the item with another package (which we did not want and never discussed prior), there would be a discount that would bring the item to $52.50. He said, "so in reality I'm really only $2.50 off in price", leaving out the fact that to get that price we need to pay an extra $100 for a package we don't want. After a few emails back and forth, the conversation ended on May 14, 2018, where we said the following: "Our concern is that prices at our meeting were presented as exact prices we should budget for. Now, looking over the contract and emailing back and forth, we're finding out various items were quoted to us at the absolute lowest value and that we would probably need to pay quite a bit more than discussed to receive what we expect." And his response was simply: "Let me revise the contract and see if it works for you both. Im playing on the island till late Wednesday so ill be able to get to your contract Thursday." Fast forward to May 25, 2018 (a week and a half later). I sent the individual another email asking for an update. He responded this morning with the following: "I'm sorry I should have emailed you sooner but this is a very difficult letter to write. I certainly don't want any hard feelings. After your last email I felt like my integrity was being brought into question. I understand the confusion with the [item] but your email implied that I had changed quotes on "various items." I've been playing in bands and Djing for a very long time and this is the 1st time anyone has been unsatisfied or accused me of changing prices. I want this to be a very positive experience for you both and it's not feeling that way. You should enjoy every part of the planning right up to and including your wedding day so I feel it would be best if you found another DJ." IN SUMMARY, if you plan to work with G&G Music, just know that they are never in the wrong, and if you have a complaint with their service they will tell you they will resolve it, then proceed to not say or do anything related to your request. Since we are the first of both our friend groups to be getting married, G&G Music can look forward to not receiving business from any of our friends and family. Now, we will work on finding a new DJ after wasting the last month working with G&G Music.

The venue is lovely, we especially loved…read morethe Cypress room, and we chose it for the outdoor ceremony setting, particularly the gazebo, and the ability to keep everything in one location. Unfortunately, our experience after booking was extremely disappointing and ultimately led us to cancel. After paying our deposit, we were informed of significant photography restrictions that had never been disclosed beforehand. We were told group photos would need to be taken off-site -- or, in Newlands' own words, that the available on-site "spots" were not nice locations. This was surprising, as we had specifically asked about photography during our initial visit and were only told the golf course was off-limits. We were also only informed after booking that the gazebo becomes part of the Conservatory room immediately after our ceremony and is no longer accessible. Instead, we were told we would need to fit the entire ceremony and group photos into a 40-minute slot. When we raised concerns that this would feel rushed, we were told "this is what everyone else does." Despite clearly stating we had our own photographer, there was continued emphasis on using Newlands' in-house photographer and studio, which felt dismissive given we had intentionally booked a summer wedding for outdoor photos. As a result, we were forced to significantly amend what we had envisioned for our day, including potentially moving guests off-site -- something we had specifically tried to avoid. When we raised concerns and proposed solutions, there was little willingness to compromise. When we mentioned cancelling, we were simply sent a cancellation form with no attempt to discuss or resolve the issue. We then requested escalation to a Sales Director, but after two weeks and multiple follow-ups, we received no contact, only being told it had been "passed on." While this may seem minor from a venue perspective, it was a key part of our decision. The lack of transparency, flexibility, and communication ultimately led us to lose confidence in Newlands. It's unfortunate, as the venue itself is beautiful, but our experience left us feeling that customer care and transparency fell well below expectations.
