Unlike many other…read morechurches where they have membership of 2,000 or so families and support a church with anywhere from 800 to 1,200 seats ... this one is really a little church deep in the neighborhood. In fact, it sits right next to or across the street from neighborhood homes. This church seats maybe 250 to 350 of the faithful at most. Nice simple furnishings - not as resplendent as others, but much in keeping with the neighborhood and the people. The pastor and sermon when we were there were very nice - the sermon especially as it was short and thoughtful as opposed to being long and just fit into a time slot. Liked this church a lot. There is also a school next door and an activity center, so you know this is a lively and active parish community. We'll be back to enjoy its simple splendor.

St. Dennis Church reminds me of the little traditional churches you find in the country. It is…read morebuilt on a hill and can be visually seen approaching the town over the bridge coming into Lockport. We have attended recently as visitors. I love attending the 8 AM Mass and Fr. Shaun's homilies are great. Everyone at St. Dennis is doing their best to follow the guidelines during these extraordinary times with COVID. As a Catholic, Mass is all about receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, so it is our reason that going to Mass is so important to us. We have felt completely safe by their protocol. We have felt welcomed from the first time we attended as visitors. Wearing masks has removed our ability to see the full faces and smiles of the parishioners of St. Dennis, but you can see they are the smiling by their eyes, which is a great comfort walking into Mass on a Sunday. We hope that the negative comments on Yelp (for any business in fact) do not prevent one from forming their own opinion by their own experiences, because years have passed and it is 2020 now. Fr. Shaun needs the support of this faithful community. He is new to St. Dennis as of this summer. God be with him and the parishioners of St. Dennis Church!

I can't say enough good things about Parkview Christian Church…read more I attended years ago for the first time when I was going through a difficult divorce but didn't continue going. I went back a little over a year ago and I cannot say enough good things about Parkview. I like that we offer small groups to help people , we help the community , and I always feel welcome. The services are so heartwarming and relatable. I am involved in serving and it just makes me feel so good. My outlook has changed attending Parkview and I feel more at peace than I ever have. When I returned I committed to a timeframe and stayed. Change takes time and that was why I gave myself a timeframe. I'm so happy I did.

It's beautiful and old and gaudy, has an old pipe organ perched high in the back balcony, and has become the pillar of what churches are 'supposed' to look like. It's made it so, every time I go into one of those acoustic guitar playing, super modern churches with skylights, my heart aches for this place. Also, i really love that the school was built in a time that "Nailers" would still be considered an acceptable mascot.

The words, "I will go in to the altar of God. To God, the joy of my youth", taken from the Latin Mass came to mind. Of course, this raises the question why there is no Latin Mass in this magnificent house of God. The photographs depict the beauty of this church more than words ever could. This church has a traditional high altar with embedded statues of Saint Joseph and the Blessed Virgin. One could spend hours gazing into the sanctuary at St. Joseph's.
