Veritas offers a very modern look, upbeat, honest and entertain sermon, but maintains an old school message. They preach directly from the bible which makes their message very transparent. There is also a HUGE lack of begging for money. No baskets are passed and there are no reminders to put some cash in the tithe. It's refreshing to say the least. My 11 year old daughter is also involved with the middle school youth program and absolutely loves seeing all of her friends and church leaders every Wednesday night. (The pizza dinner is an added bonus) If you are searching... for something missing in your life.... for a place to call home... for friends... for a relationship with Christ.... Give Veritas a try.

I work on the road and am gone maybe 6 months per year, however I always have the option to listen to the sermons online, so I don't really feel like I have left! Being able to listen to the music is always a pleasure and isn't the old boring stuff I grew with played on an organ or piano. Real music for the person today! The church is growing so much and have new baptisms all the time so God must be blessing them so for their dedication to the community. I would recommend everyone to come and check them out. The services are directed toward everyday life and the Pastor keeps it interesting by adding in a little bit of humor. The music is amazing - great talent! If this doesn't already encourage you to check Antioch out...how about donuts and coffee? Antioch offers complimentary donuts (wide variety of flavors) and drip coffee. They also have a coffee shop on site where you can get a latte, frappe, machiatto, or smoothie before or after the service. I think it is better than Starbucks! I have not attended any other events as this is a great community!

River of Life Church in Cedar Rapids Iowa was severely damaged by the recent Derecho. The…read moresanctuary was completely destroyed, but yet the church remains functional with its day-to-day activities such as the weekly food pantry. The food pantry is open every Wednesday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and practices social distancing due to the covid-19 virus. The food pantry is one of the best food pantries in Cedar Rapids which provides families in need regardless of religious beliefs, church membership, and of course whether or not one is a believer. We help all who are in need. River of Life despite being damaged by the storm has been conducting services in their parking lot under a tent during this trying time, but is in the process of getting occupancy per the city on the portion of the building that has not been completely demolished and should start holding Sunday services inside the old portion of the church within a couple of weeks. If you are in need of food and perhaps even some additional assistance such as tree removal, some financial help, or even just an ear or shoulder to listen to or cry on we are always available to do whatever it is in our power to help. You do not have to be a member of the church. you don't even have to believe in Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. We want to be there for you and your family and your time of need no matter what that need May be. We love you no matter what and we hope to see you whether it be at our food pantry or our Sunday service. We also offer life groups throughout the week where you have the opportunity to meet other men and women who may be going through the same thing you are, or have already been through what you have been through and can give you the advice and guidance you need to help yourself and to find peace in this life. River of Life is truly a church family and we are always wanting to expand our family no matter your economical social background, no matter your ethnic background, no matter your criminal background, no matter your substance abuse background, we love everyone and want to spread the word of God everyone who is hungry for the word.
