The new owner only cares about the money and if you bring any issues/concerns up to her, you become the problem and are treated in a very hostile manner. Every month there was an additional fee for "catering" or "misc." we never once paid the agreed upon rate and we're constantly up charged for expenses which were never disclosed to us. During our time we watched all of our daughter's infant teachers leave, her two toddler teachers quit and multiple other teachers left as well. The new staff she has hired are constantly on their phones and are unfriendly to parents and the students. We witnessed a child left outside unattended and no report was ever filed as well as teachers yelling at older students. Our daughter and 2 other girls all started saying "hurt" and referencing their private parts. Do not under any circumstance send your child here if you care about their health and safety.

It provides insight for his mother and I to know how long his nap was that day, how much did he eat, etc. Kim and crew do wonderful. My son enjoys going there and has grown socially as a result. If pressed for a con of this place, I would say the food they eat isn't the best. They do follow state recommended standards but it does tend to be sugary and not the best stuff for kids. For 1 meal a day, I'm not that concerned. It's much more important to me to know that they care for their kids and take good care of them. And here they do just that.

I was initially a bit nervous since Purple Dragon is more structured and has a lot of vegetables on the menu -- but honestly, we've had such a great experience. Clean school and cost friendly. We saved about a hundred per week going here. Makes a difference for our growing family! I can tell my daughter is well loved - she hasn't once mentioned her old school ha! Purple Dragon doesn't have an app, but I don't mind. Ms. Mila sent me pictures during Wednesday's first two weeks, which was really thoughtful. She also told me to check the papers in my daughter's backpack daily -- now it's become a fun little ritual we do together while dinner is in the oven. I can tell this week they're working on D, E & F vocabulary, farm animals, coloring, and colors. We're also practicing pulling pants up and down to get ready for potty training. Ms. Mila even sends home adorable magazine cutouts as "homework" to help with Wednesday's speech. It's small touches like that that make a big difference. A core memory for us: on her second day home from Purple Dragon, Wednesday was dancing and singing their school song all over the house. Chris and I looked at each other like, "Okay... she *loves* this place!" So far, so good! My daughter is happy, eats vegetables *by the bowl* (just wow!), and even though it's a bit out of the way for us, I truly can't imagine her going anywhere else. When choosing a school for my daughter, I researched every school from Lenexa, Overland Park, Leawood, Martin, City, Shawnee, and all surrounding areas. I had interviews with all the schools in those areas, and this Goddard completely stood out. The school is clean, the teachers are knowledgeable and patient, and the school Chef, Larry is exceptional-to the point that any days I do early pick up my daughter requests I get her after lunch. She said that she can't keep track of all 14 children in her room and it is not her fault that my 2 year old was hurt. During my time at Primrose Leawood, I observed an overwhelming amount of children had behavioral…read moreissues with many of them being quite severe and disruptive. It is left solely up to the teachers to discipline and handle these behaviors with no support. For example, kindergarten students regularly physically fight each other and some are still not required to be potty trained which results in many accidents in class. When management is called in, the child is rewarded for misbehaving. When behavior escalates and parents are informed, they scream at the management who then get mad at the teachers. If behavioral management isn't a strong skill, I would look somewhere else. Additionally, the management is comprised of four team members. One is amazing, one is competent, one refuses to do her job, to the detriment of the teachers and their curriculum, and one is too obsessed with drama and judgment towards her young, female employees to even realize she has a job. The amount of judging and degrading language I received or overheard from the director is appalling. If you believe she isn't judging you, think again! Unfortunately, jealously is a disease that McDowel cannot find a cure for. Lastly, the veteran teachers are wonderful and kind! My coteacher was a saint! You will be set up for success if paired with one of them. Unfortunately this is not true for all teachers. Many teachers in the younger rooms spend the whole day on their phones and offload all responsibilities onto their coteacher, regardless of if they're the teacher assigned to the room or not. Even during outdoor recess, the prekindergarten teachers will sit out of sight on the wall on their phones rather than make sure the kids are safe, leaving the safety of 24 children solely on you. It is extremely disheartening and dangerous that this is a known issue that is allowed to continue. All in all, there are clear issues that make this job unnecessarily hard, namely unresolved behavioral issues and mean staff members. Aside from the youngest member, do not trust the management. They will use any information you give them to make your work life harder.

We love that the location is free standing and appears very secure and well kept. The hallways are wide, clean and clutter free. The rooms all have a lot of windows and are well lit. There are age appropriate toys that do not look old or too worn. I consistently see money being put back into the property and the classrooms such as new ride on toys in the early toddler rooms and large touch screen computers in the preschool rooms. This location is definitely not convenient for us and, trust me, we have looked at several other daycare options that would be much closer to our home and work (more than once) but nothing ever compares to Primrose School of Leawood! We have been very happy here.

At the end of the day there is always a report card to let me know what he did, his mood, etc. he has learned so much from just the short time he has been going. They also have a wonderful outdoor program that I absolutely love. They plant veggies, plants, flowers and so much more, it's just a great learning experience about nature in general. More schools need this IMO. With that said, I highly recommend this for infant, toddler and preschool children. It is well worth it. I
