First, there are no consistent children's groups. When the kids are in the auditorium, they are not supervised and often run around before and after the service. This creates a safety hazard, especially with several elderly members present. The second thing is about the members of the church. Some of them were friendly and helpful in explaining the church's routines to my husband and me, while others were overly persistent and made it difficult for us to have space to enjoy the service on our own. The last thing that really stood out to my husband and me is the fact that there is a registered sex offender allowed to walk around the church unsupervised. If we had known this during our first visit, we would not have continued attending, as we do not feel comfortable bringing our children into an environment with that level of risk. Also, one thing that we noticed as we were driving away was that the bus driver was on the phone, texting, and swerving frequently. While many people are likely guilty of texting and driving, this should not be the case for the church's bus driver, who is responsible for transporting other people's children home.

Additionally, the sermon from Pastor Nearpass reaffirmed our need to engage, respect and hear our older generation as we have an abundance of knowledge and wisdom that will be lost if we don't lock into now.
