This is the second year we've sent my son to one of the summer camps at Math Plus. Last year he did…read morea half-day programming camp, and this year he went for a full-day Lego robotics camp. Both experiences were very positive - he came home full of excitement about what he'd done at camp and inspired to continue working on programming at home. (To be honest, he was already pretty excited about building Legos at home, but the robotics part has given him a new focus.) The teachers are clearly experienced at dealing with kids and are actually full-time teachers during the school year, which was a huge plus for me. I was concerned that the people running the camp might just be college kids on break, but this was clearly not the case.

My first grade son attends class here and he loves everything about it. His teachers are…read moreenthusiastic and the other kids are just as happy to be there. It's okay for him to be excited about math and learning whereas at school he sometimes feels singled out for liking math. The homework is never too challenging and there is plenty of time to complete it before the next week. His class size is only 7 or 8, including him, and he receives plenty of one-on-one attention. As a parent, I appreciate that I don't have to continually sign him up for a new term. Once you sign up for a class, it's an ongoing schedule of classes, that continue through the summer. I'm looking forward to him having interactions with a classroom setting and mathematics classwork during the break. I think having this experience will allow him to stay sharp with his skills. It is pricey, but I believe well worth it. It's a skill that will much more needed throughout his life than knowing how to throw a baseball.

I had an appointment set up for one time. Nancy tried to arrive earlier than the scheduled time…read more When she arrived, my son answered the door to advise that we were not ready. Again, Nancy had showed up sooner than our SCHEDULED appointment time WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I scurried to try to accommodate Nancy's early arrival. Finally, I was ready. When my son went outside to see if Nancy was still present, she was not. Nancy had left. Nancy didn't call, text or even blow smoke signals to advise that she was leaving, she just left. When I called her business to inquire as to what had happened, she had her people to lie and say that she was in a "meeting". How could you be in a meeting when we were scheduled to be in OUR meeting at the same time? The fingerprint meeting. I called and left several messages. I also sent several text messages to the line that she had called me from earlier. I never received a return reply. I was very upset as I was on a tight deadline to complete the fingerprints for my employer. THANK GOD that my employer was flexible, but man! I would never recommend this place to anyone. Nancy is unprofessional and a liar. Although, I've forgiven her, however, she is what she is and it's all done with a smile. To this day, she's never contacted me to resolve the issue or to apologize. Typically, I won't take time out to post a negative review but people need to know how unprofessional she is. One of the main reasons that I chose to post this review is because of the sensitivity of the situation. I'm in physical therapy right now for my leg. So, having her to come to me and being willing to pay an extra $250 for the mobile service on top of the regular fees was going to be a convenience that I needed at the time. The fingerprints were needed in order to retain the new position that I had accepted with my employer. My employment was attached to the fingerprints being completed. Thankfully, I was able to find a better service that cost less and that actually showed up when they were supposed to and not an entire hour early without consent like Nancy did. In conclusion, if you DO decide to patron her business, be sure to tell her from the very first moment that the scheduled time IS THE SCHEDULED TIME and do NOT SHOW UP EARLY as you WILL NOT be available. Because she'll schedule an appointment for one time but then call, text and leave messages trying to show up a whole day or so early. So, cut her off at the beginning and let her know that, the time is the time and to not try to avoid the scheduled appointment. Oh, because she did call me a day or two before the actual scheduled day asking to come over then. I advised her that I was not available and that I will need to keep my previously scheduled day and time. However, she STILL came over early on the scheduled day and caused an unfortunate situation. Do what you want, but please be aware of who and what you are dealing with. And if the prints that you need is for a job, I would ABSOLUTELY UNEQUIVOCALLY advise to not patron Nancy and her business as you could lose your job messing around with her messiness.
