This is a very well structured jiu jitsu school. They are able to maintain a fun, yet disciplined teaching approach. My son loves it!

Walking into any gym can be intimidating, but from the moment I stepped in to get information, I felt genuinely welcomed. Unlike many gyms that immediately push you to sign up, the front desk staff took the time to explain their drop-in classes so you could try it out first. That alone spoke volumes. Each coach has their own unique coaching style and knows exactly when to push you and when to encourage you. That energy carries through the entire gym and creates a real sense of community. Even on your worst day, the members become your biggest cheerleaders. It's been two years now, and Pro Edge is more than just a gym--it's home.

From day one, the coaches made me feel welcome and pushed me at the same time. Every class has great energy, and the mix of boxing, BJJ, and MMA keeps things interesting. What really stands out is the community. Nobody's trying to show off everyone helps each other, whether you're hitting mitts for the first time or preparing for your first fight. The coaches genuinely care about your progress and make you feel like part of the team. If you're looking for a place in Phoenix to train, get fit, and actually enjoy it, this is it. Joining Pro Edge has easily been one of the best decisions I've made for myself.

I'm a Black belt with thirteen years on the mats, so I've been to many different locations over the years and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly out there. Professor Ximenes was a relaxed, friendly guy and said, "Of course!" when I asked if he was amenable to me training with his 9 am class. No mat fee, no drama about uniform. Solid jiu jitsu instruction, which I'd expect given his competition pedigree. I got to roll with his students and with him. Again: no drama, no ego. An excellent class and a great start to my day. Thank you to Professor Ximenes and his students for welcoming a fellow jiujiteiro to their academy.

The facility, mats, changing room, restroom, and shower was immaculately clean. They had air conditioning and a water fountain. There is a separate room for changing and leaving your items in a cubby, so the side of the mat was tidy. The instructor, nicknamed Rasta, was a super friendly and funny brown belt. He was teaching a fundamentals class for white belts. But for us blue and brown belts, he showed us some extra stuff with the lapel called the "English handcuff." During the situational and open rolls, Rasta kept in mind our injuries, and found ways to control and tap us without being mean or being a bully. He showed us a lot of respect and humor. I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Scottsdale again!

They are doing everything they can to bury their deceit and dishonesty. How more abhorrent and vile do you have to get to not only be guilty, but to then try to hide what you've done!! TRISTAN WALKER was a victim of illegal debits and over charges to our account without prior notice, verbal warning or email. If you support and stand by people who are unethical, unprofessional, dishonest, cannot take accountability for their own vile and backhanded behavior than this is the gym for you. We were members of the gym before Nexus, and then grandfathered in under the same contract in pricing from the previous gym. Eric, nor Gerson & Alex never approached my partner about membership pricing/contract changes a single time. Then the unauthorized debit came out of my partners account. My partner contacts Eric via text and this wannabe blue belt gym creep wants to come at my partner about pricing when no one ever had the basic human decency to have a conversation with either of us. This type of behavior is not only abhorrent, but extraordinarily unprofessional, and knowing that people are willing to rip you off after calling you, a friend and you have gone out of their way to personally help their business thrive is beyond a slap in the face. When Eric Baldev was the co owner of PureBred before Eric, Gerson & Alex Atoigue fleeced the original owner out of his gym we only knew it was a matter of time before it would trickle down to us so called friends and gym members. That moment has finally hit for us. These people have no honor, no self decency, and no respect for their members. My partner had personally helped Gerson for years training kids class so Gerson wouldnt lose pay and his position because Gerson couldnt show up to do his job and this is how my partner is thanked. Thanked by being ripped off, and disrespected to the highest degree with no accountability and no apology coming from Eric, Gerson or Alex. Gerson and Alex are some of the most deplorable two-faced and backhanded individuals I have ever met and encountered in my entire life. Eric has been in the gym numerous times and he comes off as the biggest gym creep on earth, and I have never personally felt comfortable being in the gym with him there ever as a female myself. But if this is the type of environment and these are the type of people that you wanna train and you want to be a part of then I love that for you

Great coaching, but management threatens collection over unwritten rules. I want to start by saying…read morethe coaches here are excellent and the training itself was really good. My issue is with how management handled billing. I had to take a break due to an injury I got while training at this gym. While I was out, the gym tried to charge a "freezing fee" to my card without my prior consent or approval. When I asked about this fee, which isn't even in my contract, they told me I should just pay it to lock in my current rate before prices went up. Since we couldn't come to an agreement and I no longer trusted their billing practices, I asked to cancel my membership instead. Then they told me canceling would immediately void the freeze and trigger a 30-day notice clause. This meant I'd owe a full month's fee for a gym I couldn't physically even step into, as I was limping and barely able to walk properly at that time. When I asked where this "voiding the freeze" rule was written in the contract, management admitted it wasn't there and said the freeze had just been a "courtesy." This directly contradicted what I was told verbally at sign up, that freezing was a member's right. Still, they used this unwritten rule to demand the 30-day notice payment, and when I refused, they said they'd send it to collections. I ended up paying to avoid dealing with that. The coaching is great, but keep in mind management may enforce rules that aren't actually in your contract.

I have to give a huge shoutout to Eddie and the entire team for creating such an incredible MMA gym. From the moment you walk in, Natalie and Isabella at the front desk make you feel welcome. I still remember my very first day--I was extremely nervous as a tiny female stepping into such a combative sport. Natalie took the time to personally show me around and walk me to my first class so I would feel comfortable. That small act meant so much to me and is a big reason why I chose this gym. The coaches I've had the privilege of training with--Liana (my main coach), Gustavo, Bobby, and Bryce--are all professional fighters who made me feel like part of the family from day one. They push you to improve while creating an environment that is supportive, respectful, and fun. This isn't just a gym; it truly feels like a second home where you can learn, grow, build confidence, and, of course, beat each other up a little bit along the way! If you're thinking about trying MMA for the first time or you're looking for a new gym, don't hesitate. Join this place. You won't regret it. Programs Include: Brazilian Jiujitsu, No-Gi, kickboxing, competition kickboxing, and mma. They do offer private lessons and gym fitness classes as well. I do the kickboxing class.

My son only gets a couple of months each year to train these days because of his travel hockey, but he looks forward to every session. We're hoping his hockey schedule cooperates so we can stick around long past the summer. Cleanliness & Facilities: The overall cleanliness of the gym really stood out. You typically need to worry about the tumbleweed of dust and hair at a martial arts gym, but the staff seems to truly care about the cleanliness here. Front Desk Crew: The front desk team has been fantastic from day one. They welcome everyone with a smile, handle all of our questions about schedule and classes effortlessly and keep things running smoothly. Their upbeat support sets the tone for every visit. Coach Bobby's Youth Kickboxing: Bobby's kickboxing class strikes the perfect balance between challenge and fun. He encourages the kids to push their limits, celebrates their progress with high-fives, and maintains a positive, motivating atmosphere. He is also so loud and clear (in a positive and respectful way) with instruction, which is helpful to keep the attention of the kiddos. Coach Jackson's Kids BJJ: Jackson's BJJ sessions are so well organized it's like clockwork. No chaos, no random sparring from day one, just smart, safety-first teaching of cool techniques. We've seen other gyms where kids get tossed in the deep end and walk away with bumps and bruises. Not here. Coach Adam's Kids MMA: Adam's all about the fundamentals, and he makes it feel more like playtime than a drill. He's right there tweaking little details, keeping everyone moving, and cheering them on. You can practically see the "aha!" moments on their faces. Expertise & Credentials: The best part is that every coach is a master of their craft. They are professional fighters with impressive accolades, and they bring that real-world experience to training the next generation of athletes. Coach Helpers & Student-to-Instructor Ratio: Every class includes additional coach helpers, which keeps the student-to-instructor ratio low and makes a huge difference. You can tell the kids love all the coaches; they're always trying to team up with their favorite coach groups. That level of engagement shows the staff is doing a great job keeping the kids focused and interested.
