The second incident was when "coach" Alejandra decided to stare me down twice at my children's class. Instead of talking to me about any issues or concerns Issa decided to move her to another class, never addressing me about it. As a business owner myself I know how to respect and communicate with the people that keep my business running. Would have loved my girls to be apart of the team but it doesn't seem that's what they wanted. Eventually I joined so he would not quit (and it was so much more fun than sitting and watching!). I never thought I would enjoy it as much as I have, or be as motivated to do the best my body will allow, but I do, and I hope to continue for as long as my body lets me. My son started the program when he was 6 in the Tigers program (ages 5-7). He's now a Conditional Black Belt, working on confirming his first Poom Black Belt in 2021. The Masters who provide instruction are amazingly dedicated and invested in the growth of the students both physically through martial arts but also mentally and emotionally. As a parent, I feel so supported by the staff and other families there that have common goals for our children/teens to grow up strong and respectful, self-controlled, and confident. The students really have to earn their rank so automatic promotion to a new belt doesn't happen- this makes their belts and progress so much more meaningful. The growth we have seen in our son and also the other students is immeasurable after training with Master Nottingham, Master Mallman, and Master Miles.
