He knows how to talk to the kids but also calls them out if they're being distracted or inappropriate. He's very understanding of the younger kids, he doesn't expect them to do much when they're new. The only rule is once you're off the mat, you need to stay off. I like that the class is only 30 mins long because my son tends to lose interest in things fast, even if it's things he likes. Coach has the weekly curriculum posted on the wall which I appreciate since I have no idea what the skills are called The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wish there was more space. The mats are fine but the area where the parents sit can get kind of full. He has a shelf of snacks and fridge of refreshments as well for purchase. You can also buy the Gi there and other Jiu jitsu apparel in kids and adult sizes. I can tell it's already giving my son some form of discipline.

The curriculum is technical and effective but also manages to find a great balance between sport and self-defense. The curriculum covers many aspects of the grappling game and I appreciate how there's a good emphasis on stand up and wrestling fundamentals along with traditional ground techniques. I started training here a little over a month ago after moving back to the area and I've really enjoyed my time and am always looking forward to coming in to class. I would recommend this school for adults and children. I think it has something for everyone.
