I arrived at approximately 9:30 AM because I was experiencing excruciating pain in my knee and needed to be evaluated. When I arrived, I spoke with the clerk at the front desk, who checked me in and told me that it should not take very long to be seen. After checking in, I remained in the front lobby for approximately an hour and a half. During this time, multiple patients who arrived after me were checked in and called to the back before I was. I was repeatedly told that someone would bring a wheelchair out to get me because of the condition of my knee, but a significant amount of time passed before anyone came to assist me. Once I was finally taken to the back, the appropriate questions were asked, and I was placed in a room. I was then told that a doctor would be in shortly. However, I sat in the room for approximately 30 additional minutes without anyone coming in or communicating with me. Because I needed to use the restroom, I eventually left the room in my wheelchair and asked one of the staff members at the center desk how much longer I would have to wait. I was told that there were three people ahead of me. I was extremely confused and frustrated because I had been there for well over an hour and a half, and I had arrived before many of the patients who had already been seen. I then went back to the front desk and explained the situation to the clerk. I explained that I had been waiting for an extended period of time and that I was experiencing severe pain. She stated that she would communicate with the staff in the back and that someone would come speak with me. I waited another 10-15 minutes, but once again, no one came to check on me or provide any explanation. At that point, I was in too much pain and was extremely frustrated by the lack of communication and attention to my situation. I ultimately had no choice but to leave and go to Piedmont Hospital on Cascade to seek medical attention. I understand that urgent care facilities can become busy, but what was most upsetting was the lack of communication, the excessive wait time, and feeling as though my condition was being overlooked despite being in excruciating pain and requiring assistance with a wheelchair. I am requesting that this situation be reviewed, including the handling of my check-in, wait time, communication from staff, and the order in which patients were being seen. Maybe because of the "system." Older family members who are not professionals have to deal with unbearable circumstances and harrasment from mentally ill person. This petson stayed there ten days, she was referred to counceling but still sent home to live with her parents. No wonder so many of these situations end very badly.

I called, registered, came back. Oh, apparently staff leaves at 3pm on Fridays. Perhaps your hours of operation should reflect that bc the person on the phone told me to come on in. Make this your last choice if you have to use Grady outside of their trauma center. Front desk staff genuinely doesn't GAF to actually communicate properly. This location is not my normal doctors office but they had an opening so I took it. The building is spacious, light, modern and fresh. It has a lot of sleek and modern features. It has more than one waiting area with comfortable seating. Their was virtually no one in the waiting room other than myself. You can check on using a kiosk or at the front desk. They had two associates at the desk who presented a smile and was polite and cheerful. I didn't have to wait as they called me within 5 minutes. I was sent by Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Hamilton. She was very professional, acted like she cared and expressed empathy when she saw my pain and distress and advises me on what caused it and how to resolve it. She also a sent a message to my PCP to contact me for further review of my situation. I appreciated that. I couldn't walk and she got me a wheelchair to go to the lab. The lab department was professional as well drawing blood quickly with as less pain as possible. This was a great experience and I appreciated their being quick.

When arriving at the facility I was greeted by your medical billing secretary acknowledge that she saw me and she would assist me momentary being she was assisting another customer. The secretary then addressed me requesting that I proceed with you check-in procedure and providing me with documents to complete and gave me permission to be seated to complete the forms. When call to proceed to the back the lab tech/medical assistance was very courtesy and knowledgeable about her occupation . When proceeding further into the building the cleanness of the establishment is clearly due a complement ! The physical was provided by a very nice physician /Doctor who was punctual and swift . I told her I wasn't tired and get sleep as needed. she stated by chart I was obese, I said I'm in good health I can breath, sleep, move around quickly and drive with no problems. Blood pressure was high when arrived but lowed by time I left. I was nervous! she also asked are both of my parents living and I stated my Mother was deceased she said what happened to your mother I said personal reasons, she had the nerve to say it had to be a heart attack or stroke I was pissed after she said that but I kept calm, she discriminated against me seems like of my color and age ,and this female doctor is African American .She had no right bringing up assuming what happened to my Mother, many things could have happened to my mother but Doctor assumed it was a stroke or heart attack that took my Mother away and she was wrong for that. Jerking on me hard and walking off like she had a atitude or didn't want to be bothered with me. I felt entirely confident and grateful for the care they were providing with complete devotion, round the clock. I don't know what I would have done if they had not received my partner when they did. Her experience of her final weeks would have been entirely different if she had to remain in the hospital or go home to less than ideal levels of care. I was unable to attend to all her physical needs by myself at home. She was supported physically, medically, psychologically and emotionally with great dignity by the hospice team assigned to her, which included a wise and empowering social worker.

It's almost as if they intentionally treat low income and people it color poorly on purpose. It must be in their mission statement. The main pharmacy is the worst of their worst. Unnecessarily long wait times, the staff here is extra rude and it's filthy in there. This might be the place to be if you are a gun shot victim but otherwise save yourself the extreme mental and emotional anguish and go to one or the more professional health care centers / hospitals Atlanta has to offer.
