This year I signed up to have dental insurance with my health insurance and I scheduled an appointment, when I went in they kindly let me know that they did not carry this dental insurance. They were nice about it and my experience with the dentist on previous appointments was good. However, today, I decided I would like to go back to this dental office and just pay out-of-pocket, so I gave them a call. Halfway through my first sentence, the receptionist rudely cut me off. The conversation went like this; "Hi, I was a patient of yours and I know that you do not carry my insurance but I" She rudely interrupts with "what insurance do you have?" I replied, Ambetter, to which she literally scoffed, repeating "ambetter?! We don't carry Ambetter, that's like Medicaid" with a complete disrespectful and elitist attitude. I said I know you do not, I literally just said that and was trying" she cuts me off again with more attitude and scoffing, by this time I am done and no longer want to even go here. I told her never mind and hung up the phone. I am sure they have caller ID. They should've returned the call and apologized. I'm trying to pay you cash. I'm not looking for handouts. I only have this insurance because my employer does not carry insurance, I don't know why rude people continue to work in customer service, but I'll be taking my services elsewhere.

The very welcoming, professional and down to earth way of caring of Dr. Anthony Henry and his staff while I was at Northwest Georgia Dentistry was so very refreshing and instilled hope and trust in me. It greatly eased my anxiety in regard of dental procedures. I appreciated it so much that Dr. Henry and his staff took precious time out of their regular schedule to address my emergency and to listen to my concerns and answering the many questions I had. I highly recommend Dr. Henry and his staff. Looking forward in building this patient-doctor relationship. Very thankful

They were a great dentist office initially until I needed a major procedure. So, having many…read moresignificant dental issues throughout my life I ALWAYS ask for an insurance preauthorization, meaning the dentist office confirms benefits with the insurance company prior to starting any work to avoid any surprises. I was told we did this, I signed the estimate (told it was an insurance preauthorization) and we did the work. Six months later I received another large bill for the work, on top of the nearly $1,000 deductible I paid at the outset. It turns out the dentist DID NOT get a preauthorization for the work and I am now stuck with the excess bill. They did say "sorry" and said they would note that in the future we would always get pre-authorization for major work (too little, too late especially when I was told they did this), but, unfortunately, I am on the hook for the full short amount since it was only an estimate. Estimate I understand, big mistake caused by cutting corners at your customers expense, I will not accept. So now I am in for around $1,200 out of a $1,900 procedure. To be honest, I most likely would have shopped the procedure around other local dentist, delayed the work, or sought an alternative since $1,200 is not a small chunk of change. However the biggest problem now is that I no longer trust the dentist to do what they promise they will do and I can no longer trust them to be honest rather than cut corners at their customers expense. Unfortunately for them, I hold honesty and integrity to be some of the most important factors in dealing with a business, especially anything medical/dental since they are extremely important to my health and well-being, and wallet! In addition, while on the phone with the insurance company to dispute their underfunded insurance payment, I had to eat crow and apologize (for claiming they were committing fraud for stating they would cover said portion and then short paying) when they informed me that they never received a preauthorization and their portion was in line with our insurance policy. I was admittedly short and terse with them since I truly believed I had a preauthorization. That was a 45 minute, back and forth waste of time, where the poor agent was subjected to me accusing them of pre-authorizing a procedure they would never cover in the first place (at least to the extent the dentist said they would). BEWARE WHEN CHOOSING THIS DENTIST AS THEY MAY NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY WILL DO!

The last three visits my husband and I have had, we've been called back 25-30 minutes past our scheduled appointment time. It's frustrating to arrive 10-15 minutes early, then see everyone that arrived after you called back before you are. As many times as they call, e-mail, and text with appoinment reminders, I expect them to honor my time and be prompt as well. But most frustrating is the lack of communication of Dr. Thompson's departure. I visited him in September, with a follow up the next week. I was surprised that a different dentist performed the procedure. When I asked, I was only told that Dr. Thompson was no. longer with True Dental. My husband called before his visit a few months later asking who his denist would be, but was only told the practice had several dentists. He didn't find out who his dentist was until he was in the room. There has never been any formal communcation about the change. We are looking for another dentist with a smaller office that provides more personal service and values their patients.
