We took our little puppy Ollie to a different vets at first in a neighbouring village but didn't find them to be very accomodating when we needed them most; my pup was taken from his mum too early and had a lot of digestion problems. One night, in an emergency we called the Brannock Vets Surgery, when the pup was really poorly. They couldn't have been more helpful, telling us exactly how to deal with the problem. So they became my doggies new doctor! The surgery itself is small, with one treatment room and extensive area through the back. The receptionists are young and friendly, and always really sweet when my pup piddles in the corner every single time he goes there! The vet, Elaine, is just fantastic with the animals and puts them and the owners at complete ease. We even ring up sometimes just to ask advice and she's always happy to help. The surgery sells a small selection of pet food and toys too, which is handy if you want to reward your furry friend there and then for his bravery! Fantastic vet, can't recommend it enough!

Bob was excellent and put Fudge at ease before examining her and giving me advice and information on vaccines. A discussion with Bob regarding dog food made me realise I had been feeding Fudge unhealthily for years. Bob has his own dog food made which I bought to try and which fudge absolutely loves. The cost of this is no more expensive than I was paying for the branded food but so much better for Fudge and I can already see how this has helped improve her digestion. Thank you Bob for all the attention you have given Fudge and for educating me in so many ways. I cannot recommend you or your practice highly enough.

There was a locum at Vetrica who took one look at my dog and suspected Cushings disease, sure enough, that is what he had. Always get a second opinion if you feel something is not right. The locum said he probably would have died within a day. So, 5/5 for that, but, our other dog developed a cough which progressively got worse. One junior vet said, there was some tablets he could try for bronchitis, but they didn't work, A year later, I would be up 4 and 5 times a night with him and his painful coughing and gagging. I used to hold his ribs, the coughing looked so painful. He was a also very lethargic on walks. Several trips to the vet later, we were still getting 'theres nothing you can do' this also from the senior vet. One night he coughed so much, something must've happened as he died in my arms on the way to the vet. We moved and started seeing another vet. Our other dog had a few problems and the vet put him on 'Cardisure' heart tablets. 'No side affects' he said. 'We'll see how he is going on them in a week.' So; NO SIDE AFFECTS? I researched heart problems in dogs and found out coughing, gagging and lethargy can be symptoms of heart problems. If Cardisure can be taken with no side affects, then why didn't two vets at Vetrica give them to him to see if that helped???!!!! I will always wonder if they had would my dog be alive today. The amount of times we went to them and asked if there was something else we could give him, to help him,to be met with no communication and 'no, there isn't.' That is why you get 3/5 from me.

Around 6 vets work here along with nurses and assistants. They are open until 7pm on most evenings. The practice is clean and tidy and they operate an efficient service to ensure that you are seen as quickly as possible, especially if you pet is really unwell. The advice is offered in laymans terms in order for anyone to understand what is going on. All staff are very helpful and most of them have worked there for a long time. I think that it is nice that they call their pet by their own name eg, rover and add their surname on when they are being called for their appointment. I feel as if the pets they treat are in safe hands.

We took our cat here for a few years, everything was okay. Wouldn't say brilliant or terrible…read moreservice, however, we eventually got frustrated as time went on we felt that the vet wasn't listening to us. Our cats health is a concern but so is his quality of life and it's a balance between the two, the vet wasn't insistent about everything needing done all the time even though it was distressing for him (especially as an older cat). Eventually we decided to go elsewhere, the Cat Clinic have been amazing and made me realise there was a lot of other things that weren't up to the same standards. After going to another vet for months we received an automated email chasing an invoice. Surprised, as we believed we were all paid up (which was confirmed on the phone) I thought it must be an admin error and just replied to say that we had in fact paid but didn't think too much of it. A few months later, after no reply, no emails or calls we get a letter from a debt collector! We paid that night as don't like to be in debt but were very upset at extra fees being applied to over the agency. My husband rang and was told the manager would call him back, he rang again to chase this up and was told the same thing again, the third time he rang they said we need to take any problems up with the debt collectors and they had nothing further to say. I would advise looking elsewhere if you are looking for a new vet. Appalled at the service!

I know then,…read moreunfortunately, that some vets can be a bit cold or appear to want to get rid of you as soon as possible With so many appointments, and so rushed off their feet, I'm hardly surprised. Actually some doctors are the same. Yet this is clearly the last thing you want when you have a sick animal. West End Veterinary Partnership, based in Tollcross is an excellent vets that each and every time I''ve been in, seems to have taken the best of care of my cat. Its true that even then i still felt like the appointment were a little abrupt, but this is the norm. However the vet has always been very attentive, careful and caring. The reception staff are nice, and there is a seperate waiting area for dogs and cats. The vets also supplies some cat and dog basics, including toys and treats. All in all an impressive service and one that I'm quite happy to return to again. My cat hates the journey there but once arrived quickly feels relaxed. A sign of a good vet.

I have never had any problems getting an appointment for my cats and their costs are reasonable. I had a problem with a previous cat and the vet was great and spoke to me at length about my options. Regrettably it was decided that my cat needed to be put down but it was made much easier by the staff who were excellent and opened up the back door for me as I was really upset and it meant I did not need to walk through a room full of people.

I felt my own vet was not listening to my concerns however the staff in here could not have been nicer. They listened to me and heard my concerns and ran the appropriate tests and it turned out my fears were justified. My boy had pre cancerous cells in the tumour. He was quickly booked in for surgery and received the best care and the staff were lovely when I (post nightshift) bawled my eyes out whilst handing him over and signing the consent form. Your pets are definetly in good hands here.

5* Vet! Great to…read morehave a vet practise local to me and my then (initially) anxious indoor cat. The practise itself has a calm environment and is very clean & welcoming inside. It was very important for me (as a pet service provider my self) to find a vet that was not only close by (south-side of the city), but essentially to seek a practise that was knowledgeable, caring and compassionate about animals. My cats medecine is 12 a month more expensive same brand same size just bigger mark up. So much for putting pets before profit. Im heading back to my old vets. Very disapounted
