My parrot had to be brought here in an emergency and we were taken in immediately, dealt with in a very quick time and I was kept informed every step of the way. Alistair Lawrie was the vet treating my parrot and has been outstanding, he's a very busy man and still changed his schedule to help. We still need further treatment but I have no corcerns and feel confident that my pet is getting the best treatment.

We booked him in the next day, I dropped him off at 8.30am. They said they would phone me with an update. They phoned at 10.30am to say everything went well. I picked him up at 2.30pm the same day they said he did not eat that was not like him. The bill was the best part of £400. I took him home but he was just not right did not eat did not wanting to drink did not go to the toilet. I phoned the vet to say he was not good, took him in to see the same women vet she gave him an injection bill £30 off pound. Next day he was getting worse so phone the vet again, took him in to see the same vet she gave him another 2 injections after looking up a book. She suggested to send him to the small animals vets for a scan, in my opinion she did not have a clue what was wrong or how to treat him. He had an appointment for day 9 but sad to say during the night on day 8 he took a fit. We took him to the emergency vet in Glasgow but they said he would be better getting out to sleep. I was devastated he went in with a sore ear and 9 days later he is dead how did that happen. When I picked him up after his ear flush and they told me it went well, in my opinion they handed me back a dying dog. I phoned the vet and told the girls at reception to cancel the appointment with the small animals vets and what had happened. The girls at the reception are great and always spoke to him. The women vet did not even phone to see what had happened( it is just a business at the end of the day but not to me, it would have been the thing to do) I could not believe it 2 days after he passed away Grahams rd vets phone me to say they wanted to give him another injection they are very insensitive to say the least. I phoned and complained to the director and told him I would be leaving a review he was not very happy. Grahams rd vets are not the same vets as before they have been bought over ( I did not know because we were not there alot he was a healthy boy) in my opinion they are all about the money now that's a shame they had a good name before.

Came out with my little Pomeranian needing a operation around £800 to cut a lump out that I was told previously was just a fatty lump. Also other dog who was I said a bit wheeze I was told previously this was just her age but this time I was told it could be water on her lungs even though she did show no signs of this was put on tablets that for 6 days cost nearly £20 the vet did not have anymore but could get more .I do admit the tablets did seem to help .I checked on line you could purchase from 12 p per tablet as we had just been seen and paid nearly £100 to vets we could get Pescription there was a visit to surgery 3 telephone conversation not one of the staff stated to get Pescription would cost over £14 . At the time we explained why we needed perception as money was very tight and husband no longer could work as been diagnosed with cancer so or dog needed the medication and as Pomeranian needed operation family would put together to help. Not one staff member stated that even though we had just been seen we would still have to pay this fee .If we had been told then we could have worked round accordingly. The staff were only interested in money and kept saying we do not give out free medication which I was really insulted by as not once have I ever not paid for my dogs or asked for hand outs. The staff should have been trained enough to state that there was a percription charge as i and husband numerous times apologised why I was going else where to buy tablets not once did they state there was more costs .I am disgusted humiliated by the way I and family were treated by grahams road vets and as I just found out the vets had been taken over and there has been numerous customers not happy with the changes .Really feels like customers are being exploited for the love of there pets and will try every way possible to get the money . What the hell is this world coming to .

CRUEL AND CALLOUS AVOID THIS VETS…read moreMy daughter took her cat there as she was struggling to give birth to a fourth kitten the vet said bring the cat and kittens to them straight away They said the cat needed an emergency cesarian and it would cost £1800 my daughter is on carers allowance and didn't have the money The options she was given was pay at least £1000 now or they will euthenize the cat and kittens or put them all into a cat charity to be rehomed. After leaving her with these impossible choices she told them she would have to use all of her money on her credit card to pay this as she wasn't willing to give up her beloved pet. After she told the male vet this he called her a liar saying she upset all his staff saying she had no money and that she now had to pay the full £1800 by that afternoon or the cat and kittens would be euthanized. My daughter who is pregnant was in such an emotional state called me to tell me what he was saying to her and I had to call them to tell them bullying, threatening and calling a pregnant woman a liar is disgusting behaviour and there code of conduct is to provide as quoted on there website "Passionate pet care delivered by a professional friendly team".

I felt my own vet was not listening to my concerns however the staff in here could not have been nicer. They listened to me and heard my concerns and ran the appropriate tests and it turned out my fears were justified. My boy had pre cancerous cells in the tumour. He was quickly booked in for surgery and received the best care and the staff were lovely when I (post nightshift) bawled my eyes out whilst handing him over and signing the consent form. Your pets are definetly in good hands here.

Cannot praise the staff highly enough…read more I have always received excellent service here and have to thank them for recently saving my parrots life, I was turned away by my nearest avian vet even though it was a critical emergency, although Sandyhills don't specialise in parrots and were fully booked they still took me in and stabilised my boy and also arranged his transfer to another vet. Thanks to the wonderful service here my parrot is now happy and healthy again. Also take my dogs here, last year my beloved 16 year old German Shepherd cross had to be put to sleep, it was the worst day of my life but the pain was eased by the way the situation was handled by all staff, they were kind and genuinely caring and also gave me as much time as I needed. Would highly recommend this place, you won't get better service anywhere else.

My cat returns on a regular basis, he is now a more comfortable and relaxed kitty when visiting. Thanks to the kind and helpful team at Animac! Cannot recommend highly enough!! Thank you,

Around 6 vets work here along with nurses and assistants. They are open until 7pm on most evenings. The practice is clean and tidy and they operate an efficient service to ensure that you are seen as quickly as possible, especially if you pet is really unwell. The advice is offered in laymans terms in order for anyone to understand what is going on. All staff are very helpful and most of them have worked there for a long time. I think that it is nice that they call their pet by their own name eg, rover and add their surname on when they are being called for their appointment. I feel as if the pets they treat are in safe hands.

We now know the vets by name and have a great relationship with them, which has continued on with our new cats. All the staff always appear to be really interested in all the pets and their "owners", taking care of everything from cats & dogs, to some of the more unusual animals that people keep now a days. A few years ago they expanded the surgery so that they could add more vets and consulting rooms, however their standards have remained high, the staff are always friendly and the place is always busy.

However try as i might I just Couldn't find this elusive Madonna! which meant for us a 90 mile round trip to Edinburgh for an Exotics vet that we trusted! when the last of Our Guinea Pigs passed away we decided that we wanted to try Rats as pets! Buying a couple of P{@H Rats we quickly found out the disadvantages of getting Factory farmed pocket Pets! Ant & Dec where the most loving Dumbo Rats you could ever hope to have! However Ants persistent cough and URI problems again lead us to find a vet a bit Closer to home! as his problems where far more urgent! than any other animal we had ... so a certain vets where recommended and we made them our new vet! by this time we had built our little family to 6 boys all of which demanded their play and cuddle time! Due to a bad experience with the newer Vet I decided to make a last ditch attempt to Find this elusive Madonna McGuire (Now Livingston) after fifty phone calls, I thought i was onto a possible clue as to where this amazing vet was hiding herself! So a trip to the main Practice and their she was in all her Purple Glory Madonna (eyes like a Hawk) Livingston! That's my Nickname for her as she miss'es Nothing! Madonna then got the 50 questions from me! I had learnt by this time to vet my vets to make sure they knew their stuff with regards to exotic's My first question to her was How much penicillin would she give a guinea pig who weighed 800 gram's and had a URI and urinary tract Infection! she gave the the now famous Madonna Look and told me that penicillin would more than likely Kill a guinea Pig and made the correct diagnoses with Baytril I then fired off a few more non trick questions and Madonna answered them faultlessly! when then had a nice chat about the exotic pets she had had over the years! I knew by the end of the chat i had found My Life long Vet. While I have focused on Madonna she has made it her mission to train any new vets in the practice up to her standard! And I am happy to say that I would not hesitate to take any Animal to Ark vet..as they all show a respect and professionalize for not only the owner but the animal that is left in their charge....

I'm not there often, just the yearly boosters and check ups, but it always seems like I'm remembered, as well as the kitties! The vets and support staff are great, and when I had a very scary moment with my eldest cat after she took an allergic reaction to a vaccination, they really didn't mind in the least when I called them half a dozen times a day to check on my baby! Unfortunately the car park is tiny and comes out straight onto a main road at a pedestrian crossing, but to be honest it's a minor issue that really wouldn't sway me from using these guys.
