Customer Service was fantastic? eveneven went over the types of chilies. They discussed the use in certain types of food you could add chilis into! it was Very pleasant, even though majority Spanish-speaking people. I enjoy the experience. You can buy 25 pound bags or just frozen chilies, which is my selection since the green chilies were not in the season! this is a good place to stop and experience the Mexican culture! read more

It's Hatch Chili Festival weekend and the time of year when I load up on chilies. I haven't had to go to other markets because this one always has what I want. The staff is very friendly and helpful, too. Today, I went overboard and bought bags of dry chipotle, dry red chilies, and a sack of freshly roasted and peeled green chilies. That roasting takes place just outside so it doesn't get fresher than that. I put all this good stuff in the back of my car as I drove four hours back to Tucson. I can say with confidence that no car anywhere smelled as good as mine. The intoxicating chile aroma was road trip bliss. read more

Buyer beware, each sack of chili weighs 40 pounds, however if you order four bags 2 medium 2 mild - you'll get one bag of each and stating that they're 80 pound bags instead of 40. If you have the chilies roasted make sure you're getting the right amount. read more

Another great chili market in Hatch that is definitely worth going to - ok they are are worth going to but this place stood out to me while driving through town. I scored a few bags of medium and hot green chili flakes, browsed around and enjoyed checking out the pottery; dried goods and all the red chilis. Great local store in Hatch! Tons and tons of herbs, chili powders from mild to xxxx hot! Enough dried chillies for the hole state of New Mexico! Haha. But for real, lots and lots of chillies in many varieties and sizes. Local made salsas, jams and other condiments. Lots of pottery, cooking/kitchen items and some clothing. Best of the Hatch We arrived in town (village?) a little after 0900 the morning after Christmas, which was when most of the Hatch gift shops were scheduled to be open. As we drove around from shop-to-shop, they were all closed, and my disappointment was building as we made a special trip back to Hatch just to visit the shops. Then, suddenly, the Chili Gods smiled upon us as we pulled up to Grajeda Chile Market. The Good: *Huge selection of chili themed foods, décor and even clothing. *Lots of pecan and pistachio stuff, too. Evidently, this region is also known for growing pecans and pistachios, as well. *If you live locally, they sell some really neat outdoor furniture. *The lady running the store was extremely friendly and helpful. She's also hard working, as she said she'd been open since 0800! Unlike these other slouches in town...er...village. *Store is organized and comfortable to walk around in. *Clean restroom for visitors The Meh: *Prices are definitely geared towards the tourist set, but whatever. The Ugly: *Bring cash, as they add a 4% surcharge to electronic and CC payments. They do take ApplePay if you swing that way. Shipped fast. Amazing and awesome taste! A bit pricey for the five one-pound bags, but shipping was over-night with ice still in the package. Impressive since its August in Phoenix with daily tempch s of 110f every day. But this is hatch chile season and we wanted it fresh and the cost of gas to drive there (5 hours each way) makes this a much more appealing deal. Most importantly, these hatch chile's are super fresh and delicious and worth every penny! read more

We stopped in Saturday on our way home from Tucson. Sure glad we did. Got some dried red chilies, several baggies of spices, onion flakes, chili powder, and salsa. ALL of it is wonderful! Got home last night. Tonight, made a pot of chili using their products. THE BEST pot of chili I have ever made!! This is the go to place to buy red and green New Mexico chilies. I grew up 40 minutes from here in Deming. Hatch Chile is the best Chile in the world! Period. This store is where my local family shops. I get it shipped to CA. read more

First introduced to this market a few years ago by some friends who work in Hatch. Since then we've made it our go to spot to annually stock up on red chile, green chile, and chile powder. The prices are fair, staff friendly, and chile is flavor packed. Inside the store they also sell various chile powder, Mexican vanilla, chile pods in bags (if you don't want a whole ristra), various Mexican candies, and roasted pinons. We purchased our 3 1/2 ft red chile ristra for $20, 5 pound bag of frozen chopped green chile for $12, and a quart ziplock of chile powder for $7. The picking season starts in September so we recommend trying to hit it up early on in the season! read more

Best place off the beaten path. Great prices. We go here for our XXXHot green chilis. I won't go anywhere else to buy in bulk roasted, fresh, and powdered to last us throughout the year. I lived in New Mexico for 21 years and moved to Texas to take care of parents. The chili isn't the same in Texas even when the grocery store claims it's Hatch. Never can get XXXHot either. We drive 9 hours one way to Grajeda Farms because it's the best place to go that I know. Definitely priced right. read more

We were tourists and we were duped. They had a basket with pistachios in ziplock bags. The basket was full of sandwich sized ziplock bags with a sign on the basket that said $5.00. We grabbed a bag and looked at our receipt - we were charged $12.48 for the pistachios. We brought it to their attention and they said the small bag (tiny snack sized ziplock) was $5.00. The size we bought was $12.00. There was ONE snack sized ziplock bag, at the very front of the basket and buried under the sandwich sized bags. There wasn't a sign for a $12.00 bag, Just $5.00. It was clearly a trap. Beware. Very dishonest business taking advantage of tourists. read more
