Stomach growling as I was walking down Viale Pasitea (the main thoroughfare in town), multiple good options caught my eye. After some Gmaps searching (sorry Yelp, again limited and some outdated data in Europe!) their beautiful IG-able interior + stellar reviews cinched the decision for me. It's both a restaurant and retail store--the latter carries local ceramics, kitchenware and home decor, many with botanical designs--capturing that quintessential coastal vibe--colors back to white. The former takes up the remaining three-quarters of the white-washed space with about two dozen tables seating about 40-50 people. Live vines hang from parts of the ceiling, pendant lighting fixtures printed with leaf patterns echo the botanical theme from the retail displays. The aesthetic rounds out with tiled floors, light wood furniture, and pillowed banquette seating mixed with individual tables, tying in designs from the home goods store. Food is new Italian--they do carry some traditional dishes though they also have a modern Mediterranean section of the menu that adds non-traditional ingredients or techniques. They also serve a variety of cocktails, fresh-squeezed or blended juices and smoothies, and coffee drinks. Lunch with an entree and drink will run you about €35-40, which is on the higher side though par for the course compared to other similar restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. I ordered the traditional fagioli cannellini, scarola, capperi, olive e calamari gratinati €26 (cannellini beans, escarole, capers, olives and gratinated calamari). This was creamy and tasty even though it had no cheese or cream, the calamari was cooked well, just tender enough, and coated with light breadcrumbs, which I appreciated as it was baked and not deep-fried. Having minimal familiarity with dish, I can only say I thought it was outstanding, good textural contrast, not too salty. Staff was the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and though their English was limited, they strove to answer my questions on ingredients in a few of the dishes. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch, but I never felt rushed. Loved the atmosphere and food here, would certainly recommend!

Starters included squash blossom filled with ricotta, beef muzzle with olives, and an antipasti spread of meats and cheeses. Entrees included a terrific homemade pasta with zucchini, and a mixed meat plate with sausage, pork steak, chicken breast and beef steak...all great! Have it with the freshest salad you'll ever eat (and a great palate cleanser between bites) instead of the fries. For dessert don't miss the panna cotta, tiramisu, or the homemade liqueurs. We ate like kings and were shocked at the tab: EU40.50. We've had far lesser meals for more than twice that. Seems to open at 8:30p for dinner, so not for early diners, but well worth the effort to get to the farm. This is a place worth going well out of your way to enjoy. We will again!

A dinner I will not forget.

I was told Italians eat dinner really late. I concur with that. It was late and after a day of…read moretraveling, sleep was more important than eating hence missing "dinner time" by U.S. standards. So we just started walking looking for what was open and after talking to some locals - we were told this place had the best pizza around! This place packed up quickly at 8:30 p.m. We were lucky enough to score a table for two in their outdoor dining area. Tables were prepped quickly by changing out the paper "tablecloth" and dinnerware put out. Our orders were taken rather quickly and before you know it, viola! Two pizzas appeared so quickly and still piping hot! Napoli pizza tends to have a thinner crust with a "thicker" traditional crust. I love it! I didn't feel like I was eating a loaf of bread with my pizza. I tend to go vegetarian when traveling and my pizza was topped with fresh mushrooms, local cheese and tons of veggies. Absolutely loved how the topping wasn't too overwhelming that it weighed down the thin crust. Great proportion and very flavorful. Service was really good and you can tell by the patrons whizzing by via motorcycles, by foot, car and bike that this place was really popular by the locals and tourist. Great service and we were quite entertained by the young Aussies sitting by us. This place was not fancy at all...just solid good food! We didn't even see the sign - we just figured this place must be good because look at the crowd at 8:30 pm!! This sits at a corner flanked by a produce store. We'd come back and highly recommend to friends and family who visit this area. When in doubt - go where the locals go.
