The property overall is just a very old hotel that is showing its age and could use some serious updating. Breakfast was another frustrating experience. It's set up like a buffet, but you aren't allowed to grab anything yourself, so you have to wait for the staff to serve you. Because of that, the lines back up and it takes forever just to get a plate. The food itself was just okay, nothing to write home about. The only saving grace was the view and the location, which was admittedly really nice. But honestly, a good view doesn't make up for a hot, musty room and slow service

Dash was an excellent server and very attentive. The snacks they gave with our cocktails were also delicious. The cocktails were good. Of note, in Italy, cocktails are just basic mixed drinks but they were still well made and tasted delicious so that's what matters. They also had an extensive cocktail list which was nice as most of the Amalfi Coast doesn't have an extensive cocktail list. The view here is gorgeous. It is a really nice romantic place or also just a place to watch the sky change colors as the sun goes down. It's a phenomenal view.

We got a free upgrade the first night to a suite, beautiful balcony views and large room! They moved our luggage the following night to our reserved room and I loved our view there as well. We dined at Il Tridente the first night and food was superb! Make sure you try their deliza limone! I will never forget my days here and Hotel Poseidon topped it off with a relaxing, beautiful and comfortable stay. They made us feel like family :)

The 5th floor is a rooftop exclusive to the guests and we took lunch and dinner up their for ourselves a few nights. The view of the duomo can be seen from up here and it is so quiet. Breakfast is served up here As well and is very reasonable for guests. They also have an elevator for those needing the xtra lift. The prices are great and the service is wonderful. The rooms are very clean and spacious enough. The shower is very powerful and plenty of great hot water. We will be back again but not soon enough.

The morning of our departure, no transfer showed up and the receptionist literally told us it wasn't their problem. My mom eventually got the money back from emailing the hotel owners but it was still such a bad experience I haven't forgotten it. We had to scramble to find a ride and it turns out there's a bus that's like 25 euros to the Naples airport. I think it's pretty terrible the hotel wouldn't have told us about this option. The hotel itself is fine. Three stars for the accommodation but the experience with the transfer was so bad I would never stay here again.

This hotel is elegant, beautiful and is where I found the best views of Positano during my entire trip. There are several different terrace and patio areas where you can sit and take in the views. The restaurant is also on a large terrace that jets out into the water. There is seriously not a bad seat in the entire house. This is definitely a spendy place to have a meal, but because the property and views are so dazzling I'd say it's worth the splurge. Drink menus do not have prices, and an Aperol Spritz is 25 euro. It is very large (almost like drinking two) but we were for sure a bit sticker shocked after seeing the bill. Luckily it's hard to be mad about anything in such a gorgeous setting. Entree pricing is similar -- lunch pastas are around 20-25 euro, and there is also a selection of pizzas for around 15 euro. And for the price you get a perfect sized lunch portion. I ordered couscous with shrimp which had a generous amount of shrimp and veggies. My husband had spaghetti and clams and he enjoyed it. Our hotel was a bit off the beaten path, and we initially decided to visit because Maestro's was one of the closest food options. Seeing the breathtaking property and views was a very nice added bonus. I'm so happy we decided to eat here!

Villa Treville is one of the most beautiful verandas in all of Positano. We did not stay in the…read moreVilla but did eat at the restaurant one evening. You have two ways to get to Villa Treville. One way, of course, is by road. The other way, and the way I highly suggest, is by boat. If you are going during daylight hours, call the hotel/restaurant and tell them you would like to take the boat from the main beach in Positano (the boat landing/pier is on the right side of the beach) over to the hotel. It is free. The views are spectacular as you take the short five-minute boat ride from the beach over to the landing of Villa Treville. Even if you have a reservation after dark, I would suggest you leave early enough that you can take the boat from the beach to Villa Treville. My one regret is we did not allow enough time to explore the grounds of the hotel prior to our dinner reservation. There are many beautiful pictures available on Instagram that show the various areas and grounds. It is a beautiful location and I would highly suggest you take the time to explore it before you eat dinner. We did arrive early enough that we were able to sit on the veranda and have before dinner drinks. You are high enough on the side of the mountain that you were overlooking the main beach and town of Positano. Stunning views to say the least. The restaurant at Villa Treville overlooks Positano. The views from the restaurant are gorgeous. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. This was the place to do it. It has spectacular views and a romantic setting. The restaurant itself was very good but be warned dinner can be very pricey. You can easily spend €200 on dinner. The wine can also be very expensive and substantially add to the €200. With that being said, every morsel of appetizer, entree, and dessert that we consumed on this evening was delicious. Villa Treville is a popular place for celebrities as well. You never know who you may see dining or staying at the Villa. Coincidentally, at the table directly behind us was Hugh Grant and Anna Eberstein. Thankfully, Hugh and Anna allowed us to eat our dinner in peace and did not ask for our autographs. After dinner, the front desk called us a cab which was able to take us by road back to our hotel. It was easily a 15 minute ride around a very winding road to get back to our hotel (Hotel Posa Posa). It was way too far to attempt to walk, especially after dark and a bottle of wine. Limited English but enough to check us in. We were upgraded to a 3-person room with a view of the pool. It was lovely! The room included a king size bed and a small twin size bed to the side. A mini fridge with water, soda and snacks for charge. The bathroom includes a shower, sink, toilet and bidet. Only issue is that there's no tissue paper or trash cans (except for a tiny one in the bathroom). We had an amazing time with Michele (pronounced Mikael) and Sergio at the pool bar. They are so friendly, accommodating and made our trip extremely enjoyable! We also had dinner at the onsite restaurant. You must make a reservation and be one time. Menu is extensive with great prices! Barbara was our host and did a wonderful job! The spaghetti with bolognese, capri salad and local wine were all amazing! We had plans to visit Sorrento but decided to stay at the hotel and relax. Definitely recommend, will return and cheers to the staff who made our trip memorable & enjoyable!

We found this hotel, tried to book it twice (even though it was not our first choice) and were told the payment was NOT processed and the reservation was not made. So, we found another hotel and booked that properly instead (it was a MUCH more reasonable rate as well, and such nice owners!) then later, I received a confirmation that villa gabrisa confirmed our booking. I immediately responded and said that we had in fact not made the booking, included the screenshots of the "payment not processed" screens, and asked that they kindly cancel whatever booking they seemed to have on file. The owners said no, the rate was non-refundable and they would not cancel it. I explained what happened and they still said no way, we had to keep our $1700 for two night booking even though we did NOT want to stay there. They were being so rude, we decided it wasn't worth it to deal with them. The other hotel owner was so incredibly kind and when we explained what villa gabrisa was doing, they cancelled our reservation at no cost to us (even though that was a nonrefundable rate as well - the difference in kind and considerate ownership). On site, it was obvious the owners were being rude to us based on this situation. We tried to interact with them as little as possible, but it was still so disappointing to spend so much money for such an unpleasant experience. I would never recommend this hotel, all based on the poor customer service and rude ownership.

Where do I begin, we went to Positano in the off season (March) and booked a room at the Gabrisa-…read moreliterally last minute, since we were traveling casually and without a firm plan (which in my opinion is a great way to do it because you will stumble upon CHARMING, magical places such as the Villa Gabrisa that have last minute deals. When we checked in to the hotel, the first room they brought us to was okay, but based on their advertising of the room we thought we'd booked, we were anticipating something larger with a bigger balcony. This first room was on the top floor and had a baby balcony. We if we could switch to another room that had a bigger balcony. They were so nice and said we could for 40 euros more... we looked at the room and UH YES-WHAT A GREAT DEAL. This room was HUGE, with a giant bathroom that had a jet spa tub overlooking the mountainside, and a giant balcony that made us feel like we were royalty. This was BY far the MOST magical part of our trip in Italy (Amalfi, Rome, Orvieto and Venice). Amalfi itself will take your breath away, but having such an accommodating and patient staff was the icing on the cake. And when I say patient I mean Paaaaatttttiiiiieeeeennnntttt, as shown by their lack of frustration with my travel partner who earned the name American princess (ugh...I know). So if you have someone in your group who is high maintenance, have no fear- they will be graciously catered to here! After getting in our room-we did not even unpack, we were transfixed on the balcony which overlooked Positano and the Amalfi coast. The staff brought us a bottle of Franciacorta and a BEAUTIFUL assortment of Italian meats and cheeses (upon arriving we made a mention of how hungry we were and they went above and beyond). We arrived around 2pm, so it was too early for getting Aperitivo and too late for lunch (places close in between). Every morning, Gabrisa puts out a complimentary breakfast- usually meats, cheeses, and breads. The real winner was the cappuccino that I enjoyed at a small table across the street overlooking the mountainside and ocean below. One word AMAZING. We walked down to the beach each day, which is about 20 minutes down, through charming little shops and restaurants. Since it was March not much was open, but the beach made it all worth it. The walk up is definitely not fun, as it is almost completely vertical, but hey it helped us work off all the pasta at least... It was very difficult leaving Amalfi and we almost stayed one extra day.. but we had to move on to Venice. I would suggest on your way out of Positano stopping to see Pompeii. This is something we STILL wish we had done. I also suggest looking at my photos, because they really do speak for themselves and embody what words cannot regarding how great this experience at Villa Gabrisa was.
