My mum, my girls and I stopped off here on our way up to the highlands recently as it was going to be too late to really cook anything once we arrived. I chose Italian as my two girls like pizzas and it's hard to really muck up pasta etc.
It was a Saturday early evening so we were a little apprehensive just turning up to get a table but the staff were very attentive and said they had a table but would need it again in an hour. This was fine as we were planning to be hanging around long.
The restaurant had a lovely family feel to it and the staff were well trained. Whilst waiting for our food I watched how two or three of them pounced on a table to clear it, clean it and brush up underneath it too!!
So for dinner the girls had pizzas, as expected, which were just small enough for them to enjoy and finish and were nicely hand made. My mum had lovely veal cannelloni. An unusual filling to see but it was absolutely delicious! The veal mince ragu had been beautifully seasoned and slow cooked to make it almost melt in the mouth. I had something a bit different too. It was lovely homemade pappardelle pasta with walnuts, Parma ham and porcini mushrooms in a creamy sauce with some of the porcini water added to it.
A fantastic little Italian place that I would highly recommend. But make sure you book at the weekend so as not to be disappointed!
