A rest stop with many attractions in one place. They have gas, EV charging, food, a market,…read morerestaurant, giftshop, playground, and a short walking trail. The most important reason we stopped here is we read they had Highland Cows you could feed. Locally they are nicknamed "coos". Highland Cattle are a unique breed with long hair and long horns. You will see them all over the Highlands and when we came 10 years ago I remember we saw some at a farm. I think feed is 2 pounds, they will eat aggressively and your hands and palms will be wet from cow slobber! The premade food didn't look great but we were here around 5 and we knew they kids wouldn't make it all the way back to Edinburgh from here without some kind of snack. We spent way too much time debating options and seeing what they had and ended up with the the hotdog. Had a bite, nothing stood out as good or bad and it was perfect for what we were looking for.

We also visited a few days later for lunch and again was excellent. On that occasion, with Covid uppermost in people's minds we were very satisfied with their Covid protocols, with a good system in place for cleaning everything thoroughly between customers. In September 2022 we were again on holiday and had lunch there. We are still very impressed with the whole set up, service and food still excellent. intend to visit again in a couple of days. The whole team have got it all so right. well done to them all.

A star for a relaxed and arty atmosphere and quirky decor~ world maps, vintage chairs, branches hanging from the cieling and beautiful lighting And a final star for super service, friendly staff and for giving us two cute little forks so we could share a decadent slice of victoria sandwhich cake! The service almost always was super attentive and always made sure we were taken care of. 10/10 recommend the millionaire bars they were almost always delicious and moist I also think it might depend on the baker whose baking too which batch and cutting the bars and desserts because somedays the pieces are different or taste just a little bit better but regardless always tasty! However the only one we did not like surprisingly was the carrot cake. It was just weirdly dense not cakie and like juicy its a bit weird to explain but just wasnt our favorite. Everything else though awesome and the food is just superb! I think my favorite was the vegan fry or haggis toastie if you like a bit of sweet and salty combo! If you go on the weekends however I do recommend having a booking or you most likely wont get in till later in the day. I'll miss you hideaway the best food!

Having had brunch here previously, heading here for lunch was something I was excited about. It was very busy this time round so service was understandably a little slower. We did have a short wait for a table but it really wasn't long till we were seated considering it was peak lunching hour. Oh my word. Sandwich heaven. I had the bacon and mozzarella baguette with hot salsa and guacamole and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of cheese, lots of bacon, lots of yum. The Hideaway is just the perfect spot for tea and cake, I definitely want to sample their baked goods soon. Very, very soon!

Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. I can't speak highly enough of this place and look forward to making myself a regular! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tea-House-On-The-Loch/141357772588944?fref=ts

Every year for my grand father's birthday we end up going to pacos. So I believe I've ate here another to have a opinion. Pacos is the most inconsistent restaurant I have ever been to, the food has a constant inconstancy to it! If you are with another person and order the same thing the quality will never be the same. I remember last year I came here to catch up with my sister over dinner. I ordered the T-bone steak expecting a wonderful juicy flavour filled piece of meat. I was wrong it was raw and had a horrible outside. I was extremely disappointed! But there are times where the food is of high quality such as the bbq ribs that where succulent and delicious. Overall pacos makes me want to live for another 100 years just to see where it will be. But right now they need to focus on getting there act together. I give it 2 starss but I have hope that pacos will go back to the warm wonderful restaurant that I once knew it for.
