With several entry points including one right behind the Varley Art Gallery, this pond is located just off of the Main Street making it a great way to end or start your visit at Main Street Unionville. I highly recommend the Toogood Pond Trail during any time of the year! Dont miss it if you are in the area.

So many wonderful features here: -free parking in two lots (that would NEVER happen in Vancouver) -a walk around the pond involves a flat trail, one foot bridge, and one stretch of boardwalk through a marshy patch -you never know what wild birds you might see and/or hear here (we saw a heron in the pond, and I heard the call of loons! For real!) -there is a lovely canopy of trees over the walking trail (which was very welcome, on the hot day I visited), and plenty of benches to relax along the way -there are areas of grassy meadow lands on small hills in areas by the walking trail, perfect for a picnic or throwing a frisbee on a nice day -my Toronto friend says sometimes she's seen people fishing in the pond! What a great, little oasis right in the city!

Amazing Place for an Evening Stroll…read more Guildwood Park and Gardens is a nice little spot for a stroll. With nicely kept walking paths, gardens, sculptures and an outdoor stage give it a try yourself. It is also home to the Guild Inn Estate, where you book events and rent it out as a banquet facility. We spent the day exploring the water and were looking for somewhere to take a nice walk just before we left the area. This park is connected to other parks and trails along the Scarborough Bluffs. It's good for groups, families, couples, bike riding and the solo traveller. If you're ever in the area check it out yourself.

Part of the Scarborough Bluffs technically, it tends to be a bit less crowded. I always enjoy coming here and being able to wander the trails close to the cliffs to take in the water views! And on your way there, see the various sculptures, columns and art work scattered throughout the park. Check out online as there are maps/info that will make sure you don't miss out on any of the art works. Many engagement and family photos are done here. There is even the Guild Inn and the event building for weddings/celebrations etc. The park/trails are clean, plenty of open space to chill on a picnic blanket or have the kids run around. Coming here in fall is spectacular as the leaves changing colours makes it lovely. A hidden gem out in the open :) Plenty of free parking!

I think my dog will definitely give Richmond Hill Off Leash Dog Area a 5+ stars!…read more Richmond Hill off Leash Dog Area, a fenced 3/4 hectare site, is located in Ward 4 on Town-owned open space lands south of Tower Hill Road and just west of Yonge Street. It is contained by a 1.5 m tall chain link fence with a separate small dog area and a double-gated entry and exit area. I really appreciate the stated rules of using the park: all male dogs have to be neutered, no female dogs in heat and no children under 12 years old! The small dog area is for dogs that are under 12 lbs and it is well maintained. My dog had so much fun exploring the area which are lined with wood pieces and played with dogs that are friendly like he is!! The other area where the bigger dogs roamed is huge.... hilly and they can all run wild and explore!! I wish there are more off leash dog park like this, where dogs can enjoy the open area and socialize with others just like children!

Not only is the general fenced off area nice and spacious, but there are lots of hills for the dogs to run around through and picnic tables for the humans to sit at. There is another gated area for smaller dogs as well. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was a fair amount of people with their furry friends (maybe around ~10 dogs). Everyone was super friendly! This is definitely a great park for you and your dog if you live close to the Richmond Hill area. You will certainly find me and my little boston terrier back here soon! :)
