Now I may be a little biased because it was extremely disruptive to the neighborhood for the two weeks they spent setting things up. As in, sound check at 7am when it didn't start until noon for example. I know I mentioned this in my previous review, but it seemed like there were even less local spots than before. The food I got also missed the mark, especially for the price tag. The one vendor I was excited about visiting and grabbing goods from ran out really early in the day, which was a bummer. Maybe because it's a fundraising event for the Baptist church, but compared to other festivals in the Columbus area this one just wasn't it.

Not being familiar with any of the local wineries, this was a great way to introduce me to them and find out which ones I want to actually go visit. I LOVE wine... remember, you need several servings of fruit a day... grapes are a fruit... wine is made from grapes!!! Therefore, wine is good for you!!! As for the location at the North Market... what a great combination!! After tasting 20+ wines, one does need a bit of a snack to go with all those grapes... Can't wait to go again next year!! I love wine and I love the North Market so this seemed like the best combo possible, right? Not so much. There was just now enough room between stands to stand, socialize, drink wine, and then move on. Had the event been held in the massive parking lot owned by the North Market, I easily would've given it 5 stars. Honestly the wine and merchants there were AWESOME but you just couldn't enjoy anything you were drinking unless you totally left the vendor areas between every single sample. Perks that totally made it worth going: 1) Great vendors-- I especially loved the Wisconsin hard cider booth. Bangin' sangria! And honestly you can never go wrong with Ohio wines! 2) There was a free photobooth sponsored by Crave 3) Entry came with a $5 coupon for the North Market...which basically gives you an excuse to get Jeni's ice cream. And any excuse to get Jeni's is a great excuse. All in all, yes if I was ever in Columbus the weekend of the wine fest, I'd go again. But the wine fest sponsored by Giant Eagle in Cleveland is much better.

The weather was sunny and hot all weekend but the spirit of Comfest rang true. Food, drink, music, art, local businesses, and good people having a damn good time. What's not to love? I spent most of my time lounging under a tree with friends on patched together sheets and blankets. That was definitely the best part, just passing time with good friends. Yes, we saw naked folks and the smell of weed was rather consistent, but this is the perfect atmosphere to just let go and not worry about everyone else. Just do you! When it came to the food, I enjoyed pizza from Late Night Slice, fries from one of the fair food stands, and hummus and falalel from Lavash. There were so many choices it was hard to settle. I also saw ice cream, baked goods, funnel cakes, etc. A good mixture of local restaurants and fair food stands. There was a little something for everybody. On top of all that, I also loved seeing how clean the park was kept and how much programming there was for the kiddos. Living in the neighborhood, it's nice to see that its taking care of and family friendly. Pro tip - make sure you find safe parking. I saw way too many cars getting towed in front of my house for silly things like parking in front of a fire hydrant or handicap ramps.

Is this something that I would do again know just because of the parking and most of the restaurants inside of Markette is not something that I would normally eat very clean. We showed up early enough to watch the prep for half an hour, parking was easy on Neil, and there's the playground in the park to keep kids busy till it's time. Small parade- 2 (and a half) marching bands, a dozen or so Italian cars, a few art cars, a float or two, etc. Led by police horses, and a couple of heritage groups. Fun, fast, casual and friendly. Baby K loved it. Come see it, and maybe go to the festival after (which is crowded and fun.)

I'm currently really missing the hustle and bustle on High St. that occurs on this first Saturday of the month celebration. Between musicians busking on the street to the art galleries opening their doors and the creative works that come out of the artists in our beautiful city, it's pure magic. A lot of the bars and restaurants will also have specials and fun promotions going on. It's my favorite to simply walk up and down the sidewalk, admiring the fun. I used to have a studio and participate in an art walk in my hometown of Zanesville and I really miss being on the artist side of things. That being said, I'm glad Columbus celebrates art all year around. I can't wait until the in-real-life hops start up again. I can only imagine the artwork that came out of the year that was 2020.

Another month, another Gallery Hop! I'm beginning to think that I had fallen victim to a bad case…read moreof 'local syndrome' in regard to the Gallery Hop. You know, that feeling of been there, done that, over it, ugh. But this time, a group of us made our way from a Kentucky Derby party down to the Gallery hop with a friend who had never been before. It was refreshing to see the Hop through the eyes of a newbie! And it definitely sparked my enthusiasm in the event again! We got down there fairly late (and so full of food and alcohol from the party) so we didn't stay long - just long enough to walk from the Cap to the White Castle, cross over, and walk back, all whilst stopping at a few shops and galleries. Its definitely much more fun in the warmer weather and I'm so glad that Columbus has decided to come out hibernation! Even though we didn't have a whole night of things planned, it was a fun outing. I prefer to make an evening of it. Getting dinner (pick a restaurant, any restaurant, they are all fun), doing a little shopping (window shopping most of the time!), after dinner coffee at Impero (http://www.yelp.com/biz/impero-coffee-roasters-columbus), *drool* any and all flavors at Jeni's *drool* (http://www.yelp.com/biz/jenis-ice-creams-columbus-2), and then a bit of alcoholic libation.
