I visited in June 2025 on a free weekday afternoon and enjoyed seeing the dogs, construction of a set for the Shakespeare in the Park, and the inspirational signs near the Schiller monument. Schiller Park has a fascinating history (described near the center of the park) from its initial opening as "City Park" to its renaming as Schiller Park. It was interesting to learn that the name temporarily changed to Washington Park in the mid-1910s as anti-German sentiment rose in the United States due to World War 1. Also, the park has been an important and historic place for the German American community in Columbus, OH. For example, I learned that German singing societies (which exist in other U.S. cities) provided support for the park.

There is gazebo with fireplace for adults to hang out have gatherings, etc, while their children can run around playing on the beautiful playground. There is even enough room to bring your pets for a walk if you need that option as well. What attracts us so much to this park is the variety of playground attractions for the young children. There are countless slides, swings, and obstacle course, play musical instruments outside as well. The house area is cute for infants and toddlers to run around and get their energy out there as well. You can literally be a kid at heart here. Your children will love it and you'll probably even meet some nice people if you come at the right hour. There is something for everyone here.

You can find parallel off Main Street or you can drive into one of the side streets and do parallel. I've seen some parking lots but I'm not sure what they're for... It's cute though! They had a few architecturally pleasing, random things to look at. It was a bit cold so I only walked around for about five minutes.

The staffers working the…read moreevent were all really welcoming and we were able to park at one of the designated lots easily. The parking map was a bit confusing, but it all worked out. It was laid out well throughout the park and you could enjoy the live music from several musical acts as you walked around to all of the vendor tents. Park has a small pond and a paved walking path.

K loved the larger playground; small one was fine, but definitely for younger kids. The big one is spread out a bit and has lots of play options. Plus, plenty of benches for tired adults. And a shelter with bathrooms, though in March those aren't open for the season yet. It's a good park in general. Lots of green space, some trees, quite a few shelters, the two playgrounds, plenty of parking, basketball and tennis courts, ball fields... Right in the middle of a growing area, so good for the neighborhood. Not busy on a spring weekday. We'll be back someday, though it's far from our usual routes.

It's pretty freakin' big and while I only explored a portion of it, what I did experience was great. For starters there is plenty of parking and they have restrooms on site. There's also a couple shelter areas so you can stay out of the sun or have a picnic. What I loved most was that there is a ton of green space, perfect for playing frisbee or throwing around a baseball. It's also well kept and had recently been mowed. While I was there, other than watching the eclipse, folks were playing cornhole and kids were practicing their soccer skills. Off in the distance was a lovely playground area that had swings, slides, and more. I heard there is also a small lake, but I did not have the pleasure of seeing it. Overall, it's a pretty solid park and the community around here is lucky to have such a place.

Parking is accessed in the middle of the park (which is also in front of COSI). There are musical interactive stations, two out door ping pong tables. Two sets of concrete corn hole and a large playground for the kiddos. There are even swinging benches facing then parks green and a few lounge chairs. Its a pretty cute city park. The Junto Hotel faces it as well and there is a great coffee house (Maudines) inside if you need a drink or a snack!

On our recent visit, a lot of stuff was in bloom, which gave us the opportunity to fully appreciate several of the gardens that are at their peak now: the pollinator garden, the butterfly garden, and the rain garden, all of which also have accompanying signage. There's a nice large play area with some more unique play sets than typically seen at a playground, though it does offer swings and plenty of things to climb on. There are also benches and bench swings and a number of umbrella tables on the plaza for picnicking. There is a fountain water play section, though the water was off on our recent visit. A music garden offers fun interactive opportunities to try out a wide variety of musical instruments. There's also a very neat dinosaur sculpture garden that showcases fossil sculptures of a variety of dinos! A game area offers the chance to do some ping pong/table tennis or play corn hole. The Science Spectrum sculpture, whose "leaves" move around and catch the light, creating rainbow-y looks is a fun addition. This is a fun area to explore, and it is conveniently located in front of COSI, near the Scioto Mile.

There was plenty of seating/places to set up your seat, and plenty of parking, including an overflow lot across the street. There appears to be a kids play area and at least one set of restrooms, seasonally available. The night I went, the weather was perfect, and there was plenty of shade in the amphitheater, but my friend indicated that isn't always the case, so plan accordingly!
