I gave Celebree Columbia North a glowing review 5 months ago on google . That was before I realized the polished "tour" and promises were nothing but smoke and mirrors. Once you're in, you see the truth: this place is neglectful, unsafe, and run into the ground by poor ownership and new management. On multiple occasions, I picked up my child dirty, hungry, and thirsty. Bottles I packed came back completely full, leaving him dehydrated. His cheeks were flushed, lips dry, and he was clearly uncomfortable. If he didn't want to eat right away, the teacher just gave up and sent him home hungry. On top of that, he was put in the wrong diaper several times, which led to painful rashes (see pictures below). I've picked him up smelling like urine, proving he was left unchanged for far too long. Even though they claim they change the kids every 2 hours. The environment itself is no better. I saw bugs on the floors multiple times. The front door, supposed to be secure with a lock pad, was often broken, meaning anyone could walk in. Safety is supposedly their priority, but clearly it's not. The child reports were often unclear or incomplete, and when I asked teachers for details about his day, they couldn't even tell me what he ate, drank, or did. That's not communicationthat's incompetence. Teachers are constantly on their phones or sticking kids in front of iPads instead of teaching. I've caught teachers sleeping while children napped. The most disturbing was seeing a teacher yank a child up and verbally assault them. I refused to let my son into that classroom until that teacher was removed, but ownership took their sweet time to act. That is beyond unacceptable! And staffing? A disaster. Teachers walk out in the middle of the day all the time, leaving classrooms out of ratio and unsafe. I had to beg a teacher not to quit mid-shift so the children wouldn't be abandoned. You can see the exhaustion and burnout written on the staff's faces due to new management. It's sad and unfair for the kids who rely on routine and stability, and the owners simply ignore it. When I raised concerns, they brushed me off. Parents' voices mean nothing here! Celebree Columbia North charges top-dollar tuition $570 a week but delivers neglect, chaos, and unsafe conditions. Dirty classrooms(kids are always sick with COVID RSV or God knows what else), hungry and thirsty children(cause they have a give up method schedule) , bugs on the ground(be careful they might come home in your child's belongings), broken security doors, lazy staff or burnt out staff , and useless management / ownership that won't listen to concerns. I pulled my child out as FAST as I could, and I will never recommend this place to anyone! The only bright spots in this broken system were Ms. Zuri, Ms. Anna, Ms. Maya, and Ms. Patricia--teachers who genuinely cared for the children and gave their all in an environment stacked against them. And Ms. Lisa, in her management role, showed more effort and compassion than anyone else in leadership. Unfortunately, even their dedication couldn't make up for the chaos, indifference, and neglect created by ownership and poor management.

My daughter has just started attending LSCA for high school and we are all very excited to know that she will receive the same great Christian education and support that her brother did. The director of this school is amazing, she pours her heart, time, work, and love into the school, kids, activities, events, and ceremonies. The teachers are excellent as is the quality of the education. The behavior expectations are strict, but their methods are objectively effective and the teachers use proper disciplinary techniques (our daughter never complained about teachers shouting, yelling, or being mean like at other schools she's been at). Our 5 year old finished pre-K and is able to read, do math, and also learned history and geography. We recently took a long road trip and she often talked to us in the car about things she learned in school about the different states we visited, or historical figures we mentioned (She learned a lot about MLK, for instance). The school is wonderfully diverse, there is no religious affiliation so our daughter was taught equally about all religious and cultural traditions during the different holidays. We loved all the events, and ceremonies we attended, in the year our daughter was here we went to a few seasonal concerts were the kids sang and danced, as well as a trunk or treat, Halloween parade, earth-day activity, and a surprisingly robust graduation ceremony! We absolutely recommend this school to anyone in the area, preschool is a very important developmental stage for children and this school did a fantastic job setting our daughter up for success in K-12!

Despite this, he was given only a few days to acclimate before being sent home, briefly allowed back after a meeting, and then dismissed entirely -- without a reasonable adjustment period or meaningful accommodations. His twin sibling was allowed to remain enrolled. During one meeting, the owner, Melvise Powell, yelled at my husband and me and abruptly told us to leave her office. We also became aware that another individual appeared to be listening in via the office phone without our knowledge, which raised serious concerns under Maryland's two-party consent law. When this was pointed out, the meeting was immediately ended and we were ordered out. Additionally, our daughter later reported that an employee would pinch her when she did not nap, which we found extremely alarming and concerning. ADHD is a recognized disability under the ADA, and excluding a child without attempting reasonable accommodations -- combined with unprofessional conduct and concerning reports about staff behavior -- raises serious concerns. Based on our experience, the owner was extremely rude and unprofessional, and families should steer clear of this school!!

At the tender age of two years old, i expect the teachers to be open to working with the children as they adjust from a daycare to a structured school. Instead the curriculum was forced and I was told my child was not a good fit. It was a blessing because we were able to find a school that allowed my child to flourish but it's disheartening when you believe your child was not given a fair opportunity. I would say to any parents follow your gut. If it doesn't feel right move on. There are other schools that may work. But still sad.

My 4 year old son has been attending Celebree Waverly woods school age program for about 6 months…read moreand I truly am so happy he's there. I can go to work knowing he's safe, well cared for, and learning so much throughout the day. The building is secured, so each parent has a pass code to enter the building, which makes me feel a lot better that people can't make it past the front door unless they have a child attending. Each morning and evening we're greeted with a smile at the front office - Ms. Amanda even makes sure to make the parent's experience friendly and personable at pick-up and drop-off. Ms.Kim and Ms. Cassidy of the pre- k classes go above and beyond to teach the children and provide quality activities to enrich each day. Art work, science projects, show and tell, crazy hair day, pajama day and pizza Tuesdays make daycare a little more fun for us all. They even send photos of what our kids are doing throughout the day. The quality of Celebree is top notch, and the team at Waverly woods makes it that much better.
