HORRIBLE WORK - FABRICATED INVOICING - INCOMPETENT OWNER/CEO (G. C.)…read more DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They recently changed their name from "Make A Difference Landscaping" to "The Difference Landscapes;" new name, same owner. I unfortunately hired MADL and it was an unprofessional disaster from the start. They have ZERO project management and oversight, ZERO accountability, and ZERO integrity! Not to mention the "work" they do is sub-par at best. 1. The employees threw their lunch and snack trash into my yard and tried to bury it as they worked. (My home office overlooks the work site and I saw and took pictures of everything). 2. They dumped scrap rebar, angle iron, random plastic, wires, broken glass and ceramic tile ... and my personal favorite, a child's shoe into my yard when they delivered "screened loam." 3. I had to explain to their workers the correct way to lay stone and allow them to use my tools because they didn't bring their own. 4. I had to re-do several of their contracted tasks myself because it was not done correctly ... but the CEO tried to charge me for work that I did, despite knowing they did it wrong. 5. One task was estimated to take 3-days at a cost of $4,100. The invoice showed the work was done in two-days, but the CEO still tried to charge me for three days of work, even when I pointed out the discrepancy to him. 6. On the same task, I was one of the people working because they were SO BEHIND schedule, yet the CEO still tried to charge me for work that I did. 7. I was able to accurately document and prove that the CEO overcharged me $3,598.99 for work that I personally did and show that his record keeping and accounting was wrong. 8. I was able to document and prove that the CEO attempted to charge me $4500 for non-contracted work, while lying to the Better Business Bureau about what transpired. I have over 35 counts (physical and administrative) of documented errors made by this company, to include every single aspect of the final invoice being wrong. The CEO has no integrity or morals, he only cares about money in his pocket - he cannot be trusted! If you get STUCK with these clowns, take before-during-after pictures of the project, annotate what days people show up, how long they are there and what they are working on. It will be worth your effort, because at the end of the job, they will have no idea what happened when, but will invoice you to get the money they think they deserve. The CEO freely admitted to me that they did not keep accurate records, yet he didn't think twice about fabricating an invoice. Thankfully I had all of the documentation I am recommending to you, and was able to prove everything he claimed as falsified. I had to pay two additional landscaping companies over $10,000 to either fix or completely re-do what Make A Difference Landscaping screwed up. They know how to "Make a Difference," but definitely not in a positive way! I'm shocked they are still in business...

I am personally very confused by the other reviews. Did the management change, recently? Here has…read morebeen my experience: these delightful human being show up weekly, and do an EXCELLENT job!!!! I mean, of all the companies I've seen that definitely aren't doing well, these gentlemen all really care about the property and take pride in their work. It's extremely clear. I was outside one day while they came, and they asked if they could help mow my clippings. I mean, you just cannot get better than these guys!! Most landscapers are rough-hewn and on some things... These guys are great, have great and professional demeanors, and are amazing!!! 100% go with them.

Extremely poor communication. Once I accepted quote I could not get any communication from them…read more Emails inconsistently returned, phone calls ignored. Text messages sporadically returned. Could not leave messages on cell voice mail box because it is full. Drove to physical location which was unattended. Emails would go a week with no reply. If they communicate this poorly while hiring, I fear the job being brought to completion. I did not try to negotiate pricing, just willing to pay for service. Obviously, poor service so I cancelled job.

Some of the worst service I have ever had…read more Prior to hiring this company I had a poor experience with a plow service the previous year. The biggest issue was lack of consistency on timing due to me and my wife's work schedules. We both are emergency personnel and are required to work in poor weather conditions. We also work opposing schedules. I made an abundantly clear request upon estimate, for plowing to be done before 6am and/or 2pm, storm depending. I was willing to pay whatever as long as that could be accommodated. After failing to do so on one storm causing a headache, he failed to do so on another storm where we got an absurd amount of snow causing no vehicles to enter or exit my driveway. Which is an issue when you have to go to work. I pretty much got laughed at when I made a phone call asking for an ETA. Don't hire thing company if you actually need to rely on snow removal.

LaBrie Property Maintenance and Landscaping - Broke the electrical run, but taped it in the end. Hence the dig safe check.

Please read!!!! I work for a large construction company that has a crushing division. So I'm very…read morefamiliar of yardage. I ordered 20 yards of three-quarter minus and what showed up was 11 yards. Now that was mapped out with a Commercial GPS while it was in a pile and I got around 12 yards. After I put it in the ground, I could tell exactly what it was from how deep by the square footage which is very simple and that's where I found he had only delivered me 11.5 yards instead of 20 I called and tried to explain there might be a mistake but just like every other post on here where someone complains they do not apologize and they make you the consumer feel dumb and tell you that you don't know what you're talking about... . Please go and do what I did,get your dirt or whatever you need delivered to your house from Dirt Dr 603-229-3200 they are fabulous. I've ordered multiple things and every time they've dropped off exactly the amount that I ordered. I expect a review back from the owner with some kind of excuse on how I don't know what I'm doing and how it's anything but their fault... Buyer beware!!!! Be very careful!!!! And remember, we're not talking about one or 2 yards we're talking about almost half of what I ordered so that's a big discrepancy, but I'm sure they'll blame it on me.

So I just had LaBrie come and dig a drainage system for my driveway. They actually showed up a day…read moreearly, while I was at work, which was a bit unexpected. What was done did not match the invoice, which is in part my fault for not asking them to change it. They fixed my steps and completed the drainage system, which so far is working fine thank god. We have yet to have a really big rain storm but so far so good. Maybe I can now get rid of the sandbags in front of my driveway! My security system monitored their progress and the more experienced gentleman really showed care in his work, and mentored the younger crew on the right way to get things done so it looked professional. I would use them again, but do the following prior: Contact dig safe which is free to find any buried cables or electrical. Rope off ahead of time the leach fields so they won't drive over them. (Not that they did on my property, just smart to do). Ensure the invoice matches exactly what you agreed to for legal reasons prior to making a payment. 7/29/18 So it's been a couple months and I love the work. The drainage is outstanding and I no longer have to worry about being at work and hearing about a freak down pour in the area! Thank you guys!
