As someone who attends this school all I can say is don't put your kid through it the bullying is terrible and the deans just want to push it aside as if we're being dramatic they have no regard for students mental health even if they say they do they say "students will be provided with the opportunity to develop in an intentionally emotionally and physically in a safe and supportive environment but won't listen when a student is telling them exactly how they need help instead they will tip toe around it to keep a good reputation that everyone attends grant knows is just show to keep a school open that dose nothing but ruin teens motivation to make something out of themselves read more

I had created this as a Google review, but after speaking to another student who shared their experience with the same bully of a teacher giving the middle finger to them IN the classroom (who was a student at the time), I wanted to reach out more on other platforms. "Some teachers cared, which I appreciated. But the main point of my review was to make notice of my terrible 1st year at this school due to one teacher. I wasn't a troublemaker. I was merely a quiet kid sitting in the back. I couldn't speak up to the office or demand a new teacher. I was too shy. As I got older and graduated college, I now feel the confidence to speak up. I don't want to call anyone out though. I would just like the school to be aware of what their teachers are doing in hopes of improving. Making us run in the snow during gym is whatever. Having a bloody nose and being given zero help, then told "Don't get any blood on the new gym floor!" - I don't care. But one teacher targeted me for reasons such as "she's quiet", but I believe I was racially targeted or singled out. Talking about me to classrooms of students (ones I wasn't even in), making me present a play early and telling all students BUT ME. Not to mention my given role was a chubby girl with no friends?? Now that was just cruel. Having years of experience at a school does NOT give them the right to basically harass students who aren't able to defend themselves, then laugh about it with the student's fellow peers. I felt isolated and my grades and mental health plummeted from there. It wasn't until senior year of hs that I appreciated education more. I would like to thank Ms. Notriano for giving me a huge interest in psychology and giving me the strength to continue my studies. Because of her, I have a minor in psychological research and am now maintaining a 4.0 gpa while studying for my MPH degree. Thank you, Ms. Notriano. I do not wish for any justice or hate toward the teacher. I just hope staff will support their students the best they can. For any future or current students, please do not hesitate to speak up. Grant is a great school. Back in the day meaning 80's and 90's, Grant was rough. I didn't go to school here but I knew people who did. Nowadays Grant is a great school with all the improvements such as building additions, curriculums, good teaches and staff, and fund raisers. Sure they had this kind of thing before but kids nowadays are more concerned about their futures. See, as parents, we want our kids to excel instead of smoking cigarettes and hanging out with crowds that are only going to end up in jail. We remember our high school days. We have two kids with 4.2 gpa's because we don't watch tv and we encourage our kids to focus because they will become adults one day. They understand. We don't drink, smoke, or do drugs which as adults are negative influences even if you do it out of sight, kids are not stupid. Kids follow in there parents footsteps so if your a powerbroker, your kids may follow, if your a drug addict, guess what! Grant is a good school now and reasonably priced (the extras). We tried three different high schools (Warren, Grant, WI HS) and Grant prove the best (which honestly fooled me). If your considering enrolling your child in Grant, you won't be disappointed! read more

I graduated this high school in 1999 just about the time high schools became daytime jails for school age children. I read on Wikipedia (it's on the internet so it's gotta be true) in 2010 Grant failed the "No Child Left Behind" initiative. Way to go Grant! Makes me even more proud to be a "graduate" of this institution. read more

Not a fan public schools. My kids go to private. But Grant is still open. Still there. I think the community would know if it was shut down. Google it instead of relying on this particular Yelp. That's two establishments Yelp has checked, now. There was St. Jude Church in New Lenox- very much still in business.
