I love that they have CLEAN porta-potties, which is a relief. They had just been cleaned the day before. That makes a difference, to know they are cared about. I liked that we could stand on the non-dirt track to watch the game, I didn't have to worry about getting all muddy in the unpredictable Oregon weather. I also love the snack shack - I haven't been to one since I was in high school. Now, it would have been nice if my nephew's team had won, but he had a great time playing.

I researched every public and private school, went to many many open houses, chose a charter school with one of the best reputations in town, before abandoning that dumpster fire after a single year. The difference in the quality of education between the charter school and Trinity is stark. This is the sort of A+ education I got in a small town for free when I was a kid, but I am ever so grateful to find in Portland. And for the cherry on top of the cake, it is affordable!!

The coveted charter school was closed and barely functioning. Months went by. As working parents the situation felt completely chaotic. Enter Trinity, the principal was and is warm and welcoming in every interaction. The virtual learning was far more engaging and enriching the we could have ever imagined. Our daughter is glued to the class even via zoom which still astonishes me 3 months in. The school was able to safely, efficiently, and calmly (yes legally) incorporate in person learning sessions in small groups. They are on point and have quickly and efficiently risen to the occasion of educating during the pandemic. And to my original point, they are the most affordable private school in town and we wouldn't dream of taking our daughter anywhere else.

Now I have to be honest with the racial tension, COVID-19 and life in general, from day to day you don't always know what to expect. It started last Friday when I made a call to Benson to clarify if my sons school schedule was available. The first voice I encountered was "Norma". This lady was so warm and friendly it scared me. She went on to explain to me in the most professional and warmhearted tone what I needed to do and who I needed to speak with. So as she transfers me, in my head I'm thinking breathe, because there is no way the second staff person I speak with is going to be even half as friendly,informative and professional as "Norma" and guess what, she wasn't, because it was her voicemail. So on Monday, after taking into consideration that I probably was the 100th caller Friday, I reached out to who Norma suggested. An low and behold, I hear the voice of yet another professional, friendly, kind and "how can I help you" voice on the other end of the phone. "Roi San" scheduled a time for us to meet and get everything straightened out. Tuesday my son and I go to the Benson campus @ Marshall and meet these two ladies in person. Same professional, kind, professionals I spoke to prior. Now this may not be a big deal to you, but its HUGE to me. This is a new school, new year, and a new phase of both our lives. There is so much going on in the world and it can literally make you paranoid about everything. It is very comforting and reassuring to know that your child is around people that show a genuine concern for their well being. First impressions are the best impressions and these two have made me a believer out of me. Now things may not always go as smooth, however its good to know that through all the hustle and bustle, Benson has a solid group of staff. I believe these two represent the staff in general and I applaud you all and sincerely thank you all for your dedication. Hats off to Roi San and Norma and I'm sure we'll see each other during the year. I hope and pray for a great school year for all and looking forward to a phenomenal four years for my child.

They do an amazing job combining hands-on play with structured activities throughout the day, with lots of opportunities to develop social skills and school readiness. Also, the families who attend the school are a close-knit and supportive community. The hours are convenient and flexible (offering both whole and half-day options and full and part-time options) and the price is very reasonable. The preschool is also connected to a public charter school that is open to all PPS students, which is especially convenient for those with school-aged children who would prefer one location for pick-up/drop-off. My child has been attending Trillium preschool for two years and absolutely loves it. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
