Farming the way it should be. Their soil is treated gently and with respect to the environment. Their little store sells organic produce and organic, grass fed meat (I'm a vegetarian; but I still appreciate their philosophy) One of the only places to buy raw milk. They get around laws banning the sale of raw milk by charging a small membership fee. You can also order bulk organic rice, beans and lentils if you order in advance. It's a bit of a drive from Manitowoc; but this great place is well worth the effort. Unfortunately they lost the chance to actually buy the acreage; and they are moving the farm to East Troy in December. This move will put them too far away for us to travel. We visited Grassway Organics for Pizza on the Farm last Friday! We heard about this place through a friend who raved about it. The pizza was made to order and even cooked in a wood fire! The ingredients were fresh and organic, and our pizza was awesome! Be sure to bring disposable plates or anything you might want to accompany your pizza. We saw plenty of other groups that brought in their own salad, appetizers and wine! Oh, and feel free to bring chairs and/or a blanket. They do have a handful of picnic tables but they go fast. It's a 2 hour drive round trip and I have been making it almost weekly. That's how great this place is.
