The last stop on our weekend tour was the Altona brunch buffet on Sunday. We arrived around 9:30 and were told we could choose a table anywhere. When we left, they were starting to have people wait to be seated. The brunch buffet is only 14.99 and you get an amazing spread of soups, rolls, salad bar, a breakfast section and a lunch section, as well as a dessert table that also has an ice cream machine! Their dining area goes on FOREVER! There is the main room where the buffet tables are, but then there I am entire banquet hall full of tables behind it. The breakfast options were: eggs, hashbrowns, hashbrown patty, sausage links, waffle bites, breakfast pizza, an omlette/skillet The lunch options were: mashed potatoes, gravy, ham, broasted chicken, BBQ ribs, deep fried shrimp, corn and bacon was over there as well. The salad bar was a deluxe option, with everything along with the salads like Mac salad. In this area, I do wish they would have some labels, as I took a salad that looked delicious, but had tuna in it. I HATE tuna. But I just kept thinking if anyone had issues with tuna and took that. Big oops. But their bow tie Mac salad was amazing. All the food was delicious. My only food disappointment was the dessert I tried. The chocolate cake was extremely dry, that even pairing it with ice cream didn't help. Really enjoyed our time here and how reasonable our check was!

    Well stocked salad bar.

We came here for the brunch buffet in Sunday. The place was busy but not full. We got a table immediately. They have 3 tables full of goodies. Two hot tables and a soup and salad bar. I did not have everything that was offered, but what I did have was very good. The BBQ ribs were a little dry and tough the first time I tried them, but after they brought out a new pan, those ribs were juicy and falling off the bone tender. The hashbrowns, eggs, and ham were good. The fried chicken was excellent. The salad bar was stocked with fresh greens and toppings. The only thing that was not to my liking was the chicken dumpling soup. The soup had little flavor. It could have used some seasoning. The staff there were very accommodating. We will be back for the other buffets they offer.

My husband and I came here for their brunch buffet on a Sunday. The dining room was busy but not packed. There is ample seating, and it's not crowded. The decor was typical supper club decor. They had 3 tables fiull of hot and cold choices. The salad bar was full of fresh veggies and toppings. I loaded up my plate with salad and chose a cup of chicken dumpling soup. The salad was good, but the soup lacked flavor. The hot table was loaded with fried chicken, ribs, mashed potatoes, fried shrimp, and many other choices. The food was hot and fresh. We will be back for another Sunday buffet or to try other menu options!

This is a great supper club! We came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised to find $5 bloody Mary's and a full glass of beer as a chaser. They had a wonderful buffet! I was craving fried perch though and got the lunch size perch plate with veggies. That comes with the salad buffet as well. The place was packed by the time we left.

It has been a while since we visited Altona SupperClub in New Holstein. We have always enjoyed our past visits and decided to let them cook for us for New Years Eve 2023. We saw online they were hosting a marvelous buffet and decided it would be perfect for our party of four. We arrived and were seated right away. Service was fantastic. We opted for the buffet (altho they did permit menu ordering which was so versatile for a holiday meal.) The buffet was fantastic. There was a huge salad and soup bar which was superlative. All the entrees were delicious (among the four of us we managed to sample the variety of the buffet items.) Especially tasty were the medallions of beef, the roasted chicken, and the barbecue ribs. The variety of potato sides, corn, fish, shrimp (breaded and boiled!) were all perfect. In addition to cocktails, we also enjoyed brandy Alexanders for dessert. A wonderful time, and a special shout to Michael our server who kept everything running smoothly--his attention to detail and his speedy service for drinks, clearing plates in between courses, and friendly demeanor are a testament to the wait staff at Altonas. We will be back next weekend for the breakfast brunch for more fun!

First, I wish people would refrain from negative reviews during Covid and short staffing, lack of available food items etc... That said, WOWOWOW! Ate here last night, got twin lobster tails ! Came with potatoes, I chose twice baked, hubby got the seafood buffet. The BEST flavorful potato EVER. Even the fried chicken must be marinated before frying, the actual meat was loaded with flavor and tender! The coconut shrimp, as good as it gets. The salad bar leaves nothing to be desired, fresh eggs, grated cheese, somehow even the cottage cheese tasted better:) The prices are EXCELLENT for everything you get including the lobster prices. They're smart, they buy in mass bulk, refusing to run out of anything, if possible. The staff and owners are SUPER, super nice and accommodating. It's about a 45 minute drive for us, but that's ok. I actually can't wait to go back!

Food is very good love the barbeque ribs not spice love the baked hadock the chicken the scrimp all the food very good.the service is also very good you would think the place is packed but they get you in fast we love this place.

Cozy atmosphere and solid customer service, definitely in the right place. We arrived with a veteran couple. They got us there early, understood the ordering routine and found us a place to sit. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Definitely get the onion rings as they are incredible! Drinks were solidly poured and reasonably priced. We ordered and were surprised by how quickly we were seated. The vegetable tray and bread basket were good. Our meals came out shortly after we were seated. The salads were nice sized and the blue cheese dressing with crumbles was great. Our entrees (ribeye, tenderloin with chicken, prime rib and fish) were all sized nicely and prepared as ordered. My dining partner said the chicken was some of their all-time favorite. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Our dining partners loved their choices. Overall, I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, but my pals at Yelp still don't trust half stars. We all enjoyed our experience and will definitely put this on our list of supper clubs to return to!

Thank you, Yelpers, for directing us to this gem. Delicious food in huge portions, and…read morereservations to boot. We're sure to be back the next time we're in the area. Bar at the front, and hostess and dining at the back. Fantastic ever-so-lightly-fried cheese curds (with a nice long cheese pull), with sweet lingonberry dipping sauce. Cheese curds are a must get! Poutine fries were tasty with a sweet bbq-esque meat sauce, and a hefty portion size. However those cheese curds with the more unique lingonberry sauce stole the appetizer show. (The first time we had them, we immediately had to order another round--leftovers were still tasty, though eating them fresh is by far the way to go to get the full cheese curd impact.) Cod-father ($22) has a similar very light, airy fry to the 2 huge fish sticks, and fish is super tender and well cooked--not at all overdone, which seems to be a rarity with many a fried fish. Generally the winner of the entrees we tried. Pork schnitzel ($32) was tender and had a panko breading, which was nice and crispy, and was topped with a good mushroom gravy (same gravy that's put on their panko chicken and shrimp pasta). This was served with salted green beans and an interesting baked spatzle (good, but I prefer typical spatzle that has more of a pasta texture without any crunch from baking). Panko chicken ($22) was ok, though absolutely needed the gravy for flavor. Pork schnitzel is the way to go between these 2 dishes, though if you're trying to be a touch healthier, can get the chicken with extra gravy. Jambalaya special was very spicy and a popular dish to order based on our observation of fellow, local diners, however if you've had jambalaya in any cities (much less anywhere somewhat authentic), def do yourself a favor and select an alternate dish. This was probably the worst dish we tried. Burger was huge and juicy, hubby loved it and finished every last bit. Overall, easily the best restaurant in the area. I see how it's a destination for in-state foodies. We're fortunate to have discovered it. In fact we were so thoroughly impressed with our first visit, we immediately made another reservation for the following night and brought my hubby's racing team along to spread the food joy. Good selection of beer on tap. Call for reservations. Buy a "round of coffee for the kitchen, $10" if you like the food (we did!). Just be sure to stick with American/German eats, and pass on anything that's perhaps more adventurous.

We were blown away by their extensive drink menu so it was hard to decide, but we settled on PB&J old fashioneds which were sweet but good.
