This shop is the real deal. Really like how they pay attention to detail. Everything is quality, weather it's clothing or furniture and priced to sell. If you're a person that likes the top brand clothing and solid wood furniture this is the place to shop. I had a conversation with the owner and she let me know that she has been doing Grateful Threads for over 14 years and has always tried to build relationships with her customers and provide quality merchandise and services at affordable prices. She said when it comes to the clothing, she is really looking at the fabrics and where they are made. When I was shopping, I noticed a lot of USA made stuff (which I like) and great descriptions on the price tag telling you that this is not just a shirt or a pair of pants there's something special about it. This place is awesome, I always find a few things I can't live without! They are mostly a resale clothing store and have shabby sheik furniture decor, but they're is a variety of everything in there! There very selective on the brands they carry and do buy/trade clothes on Fridays from 11-4pm! Definitely a great addition to our cute little towns quirkiness! read more

We live in Placerville and prefer to shop local. We patronized this shop several times in the last 6 months or so and we've boughten several pieces of furniture from the man who owns the store. He was friendly and helpful and said they moved their shop from San Louis Obispo. However, the next time we visited we were so disappointed that the prices were so much higher. I liked a pair of Lucky jeans that were my size but they were 30 dollars! My friend found a cute blouse and it was 25 dollars, we didn't buy anything. We ended up down the street and bought the same Lucky jeans brand new at TJMaxx for 24.99! Bummer, because the visits before were so fun and we would find affordable treasures. read more

What happened to this once awesome store ‍?! Grateful Threads has been one of my favorite south county shopping destinations for many years, yet my visit today was tremendously disappointing! It looks totally different inside... no jewelry, everything has been painted white and the store is stark and empty feeling . This unique store used to be like a treasure trove of interesting clothing, home decor, one of a kind accessories, shoes and even furniture. I am beyond sad to see how it's changed in just a couple of months since my last visit . The owner is extremely rude and uncaring. I would not recommend bringing anything here to be tailored, especially if it's something important to you. I called her to see if she'd be able to help me with my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding. On the phone she said there would be no issues with getting it back to me by June 19th. I told her I had ordered shoes for the dress and could get it to her Monday, the 7th. She said great. I then text her over the weekend reminding her and showing my commitment as she had requested. She then responded to instead drop off the dress off Thursday or Friday... I agreed and waited. Then on Wednesday night, when asking how long it would be until I got it back, she preceded to tell me it would take over a week (which would be past the 19th)... I reminded her it was my dress to be my sisters maid of honor at her wedding on the 19th. Her response, knowing I had already been in a time crunch from the first time I called her, was I should probably find somewhere else to take it, giving me ONE week left.. I then expressed the unfortunate situation I was now in by spending time waiting to give the dress to her (who I thought had cared and had committed to helping me). She then told me I was rude and to go find someone else to take it to. The "Good luck" in her text was a nice touch. How about you read the text messages attached and let me know if you think I was merely someone expressing my concern and confusion by being screwed over in this situation or if I was being "rude" and deserved to be treated this way? If you're going to mix up your clients and be extremely unorganized, the least you can do is be NICE to them and have some decency. Good luck Grateful Threads. read more

I alway find something special at this beautiful second hand boutique . Sarah the owner is a wonderful person and a talented seamstress . Sarah's daughter also has her moms flare for fashion and alterations . I brought in a wedding dress that I had got second hand for 20$ . My daughters wedding was in one week and it needed flaws fixed and to be fitted . They worked with us to make the dress fit and look beautiful . They did an amazing job altering the dress at a very reasonable cost . We had the wedding dress in hand in just four days . I could not be more grateful to Grateful Treads . read more

This review is on my purchasing experience. I've never consigned here or had alterations done. I knew from visiting several times before that they would have just what I was looking for. A vintage looking outfit to wear to Hearst Castle Evening tour where the docents dress up and so can guests. I found a beautiful evening kimono with vintage rose design and fringe. Perfect to pair with the fake jewelry I purchased in Morro Bay. I knew the rose kimono was the right one but couldn't talk myself out of a second one that was more contemporary for other occasions. $12 each. Wow. They sell on the internet for $40 or more. This is not a thrift shop but more like a cute boutique with good quality clothes that are clean, well displayed, fun furniture and in my opinion the prices are very fair. Huge fan of this place! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because they have weird hours that make it kind of hard to visit them if you work 8-5. It's a mother-daughter owned business (Sara and Meadow) and they are both really sweet and friendly. I took a dress to an alterations place downtown and it was $60 just to have the dress hemmed! Yikes. Thankfully I found out Grateful Threads does alterations and now I take all my clothes there. Meadow does a great job and the price is reasonable! In addition to great alterations services, I have never left this store without buying something. They are constantly getting new stuff and I love their style. Either the owner or someone affiliated with this store is rude and need to mind her own business. My family and I stopped by the restaurant next door to order take-out. While there, someone from this store poke her head in without mask and yelled across us to talk to the lady who took our order. While waiting for our food out in front of the restaurant, we saw more people without masks from this store enter into the restaurant next door, therefore we decided to cancel our takeout order. While we were heading to our car, a rude woman without mask came out of this store started to yell at my husband about COVID being fake and so on. I came here for a modification on a jumper that I ordered. Sarah was very friendly and she knew exactly what I wanted even though I had a hard time expressing it exactly since i am not a seamstress. She shortened a tie on my jumper and added some clips instead. The clips are already a little loose which is a bummer but they are still functional and I was impressed with how intuitive she was. read more

So I moved to Grover six months ago and have been to this thrift store two times. Not impressed. Anyhow I was at the post office and saw they were selling masks for $10. Went over and purchased one. The mask elastic band was about an inch long. The mask would not stay on my face because the elastic was too short. I came back and told Sarah about the problem and she told me that I should just give it to someone else that it might fit? Like who? A baby? I have a normal sized head. I asked her could she not fix it and put on longer elastic. She told me in a rude tone that there are no refunds. I said again that I don't want a refund, just to have it fixed. And let me add she is sitting at a sewing machine as I'm speaking to her. She responds again there are no returns and that after purchase "she wants nothing to do with it". As if it was a health hazard to touch it and fix it. I left the mask there for her. I'm sure she will put it in another ziploc bag to sell to another sucker. Rudest business owner I've ever encountered. If I weren't such a nice person I would say she's a rude ass bitch. read more

I love this store- it has helped me outfit for events with vintage and super cool clothing you would never find anywhere else. They have a unique style that really works, as they buy groovy clothes and pass on the style and saving to us the customers. My daughter shops here (she has a 2 yr old and a newborn) to stay stylish at reasonable prices. Most times, the clothes she takes in to sell, cover the cost of a new outfit. Thanks to Sarah - I am now a bit richer for having taken my "not wanted" clothes to her store for consignment. It is such a fantastic service- she puts my clothes on consignment, no dealing with crazy Craiglist people or giving them away to a charity whom charges poor people to much money. I knew when I saw a sewing machine out and in use that I was in a good place. I have found a few cool pieces here and am Grateful that this store is as nice as it is overall. I like it! The "Exchange" aspect of it makes it a plus in that one can bring clothes in and maybe even get a few dollars credit for something else. One of the best aspects of Grateful Threads is that it is not all crammed up like a thrift store or Kmart or Ross. There are cool display outfits. Clothing is arranged loosely on the rack so you aren't having to muscle through to try to see a garment. Gives more of a boutique feel rather than massive amounts of clothes.
