Ever since my lady and I have been watching our spending habits by not shopping at retailers that sell "new" merchandise, the whole thrifting thing has been surprisingly successful as of late. Which takes me to the city of Folsom where we both had the opportunity in checking out "Snowline Thrift Store". Located directly on East Bidwell St and adjacent to Glenn Dr, this very well-known thrift store has been serving the Folsom community and its surrounding areas dating back to 1979. Best of all, the money that is collected goes towards hospice care for a variety of hospitals and care facilities in the greater Sacramento area. My lady and I came here during the afternoon on Saturday 5/30/2026 at around 3:00pm. As for the exterior of building, this place offers ample parking for a couple dozen vehicles which is very convenient on the busier days. Upon entry, I was greeted by a huge jukebox (that sounded amazing) playing lots of great upbeat music; my kind of vibe when I am thrifting. The main register is near the front entrance while there are actual fitting rooms (unlike Goodwill) where you can try your clothes on before you buy. Finally, they do offer a single one-person restroom towards the mid-rear part of the building. Business hours are also quite reasonable as they are open Monday through Saturday from 9am-7pm and Sunday from 11am-7pm. The overall prices here are quite reasonable as they sell a nice assortment of men's, women's, and children's apparel all at decent prices. Here you will find quite a bit of tees, polos, blouses, pants, jeans, skirts, outerwear, ties, shoes, and much more. They also carry a nice variety of glasses, dishes, small kitchen appliances, home apparel, artificial plants, mirrors, artwork, and even larger items such as tables, recliners, curio cabinets, and bedroom/living room furniture. And for the bookworm/audiophile in all of us, this place sells quite a decent amount of books, movies (VHS/DVD), music (vinyl records/CD's). During our visit, my lady was able to make a few amazing purchases on some small accessories for her workstation as well as some nice little side pieces for the living room. Even when she took these items to the front register, they gave her a better deal which meant she left paying a lot less than she had anticipated. However, the store itself was a little bit cluttered but still easy enough to navigate around. With the above average customer service, decent selection, and very reasonable prices on much of their merchandise, I am giving the Folsom "Snowline Thrift Store" an above average four stars. read more

Snowline Thrift's Stores are located in Folsom, Cameron Park, and Placerville. This review is for the Folsom location. I happily support this non-profit and Community based thrift store by actively collecting gently used clothing every opportunity I have. I am grateful to the employees and volunteers who manage and maintain this business. All proceeds go to Snowline Hospice's Supportive Care and Children's Grief Programs. So worthy in my opinion. Dropping off whatever you may have to donate is easy and simple. You do not even have to leave your vehicle. Employees will come to your car. I just automatically pop open my trunk and they remove the items. Easy peasy. Should you want a receipt for tax purposes... it will be provided at that time. As well as a 10% discount type coupon you may use in the thrift store. It is a win win for everyone. Please consider donating whatever you may no longer need for such a wonderful organization. And, of course, purchases from the store are the backbone of securing the much needed monetary proceeds necessary to fund the programs. Thank you. read more

BE CAREFUL if you're donating! This place is run VERY POORLY!! The people at the donation drop DECIDE what they will and will NOT accept. It gets worse! The people answering the phone will tell you they accept items THAT THE PEOPLE @drop off REJECT (e.g., metal file cabinets in great condition). The drop off folk went as far as saying they haven't accepted file cabinets for YEARS! Apologizing, of course, but the "F" group operation DOESN'T COMMUNICATE. When I asked them to make sure the folk answering the phone/ giving direction they were indignant. A complete waste of time and effort. Will NEVER donate anything here again. I will begin by stating that I appreciate the services that Snowline Thrift supports. I believe they likely make an important impact in the lives of the people they serve. For the thrift shop itself, they have a wide assortment of items available for sale. Home items, clothing, music, etc. I feel that some things are priced well, while others are overpriced. For instance, they had a power wheelchair in the shop priced at $4,000. I work in the wheelchair industry, so I understand that this chair has value, however, this wheelchair also has a repair history as noted on the back of the chair. For a thrift shop that has a mission of supporting families through such difficult times, I would hope that they would make the pricing on durable medical equipment more accessible to those who truly need it. This is a custom power chair, meaning it won't be a perfect fit for whoever buys it. There would likely need to be modifications and potential repairs, which would be even more out of pocket cost for the family. Other than that, spend time looking around at what else is offered. My favorite thrift store! It stands apart from others in the area. They have way more interesting finds. I recommend checking back often because you never know what you'll find. I love Folsom snowline thrift! I have only been 4 times but each time I find the best stuff! Vintage made in the USA Pyrex, antique gold frames, a beautiful large oil painting, THE BEST China/ dinnerware and the coolest antique books. They also occasionally have great furniture pieces. A friend of mine purchased a beautiful large antique entry table a few years back for a steal. The prices here are so beyond fair! I bring my family here when they're in town and we always have a great time finding unique items. Clean store and friendly staff. I also love what they support and stand for. read more

Haven't been thrifting for over a month and was surprised to see the store has been reorganized and for the most part, I like it. I will say though, seems like the jewelry section is much smaller as well as the kitchen and dish areas. They have little vignettes with nicer furniture where jewelry used to be and I suppose that's good marketing. Furniture is more profitable than jewelry. Ah well, it won't keep me from returning in search of the unique treasure. Customer service is always stellar; items clean and well presented. Bravo SNOWLINE Hospice. The store was a lot larger than I expected! It's very clean and well organized. I found the furniture item I was looking for very easily. Plus the tag said "or best offer" so I was able to stay within budget for my item! Cal rang up my item, told me where to park my car, and said that they would get some help to load it in my car for me. The guy got my item, loaded it on a dolly, and got it right out to my car easily. I never expect an employee to take furniture to my car for me, so this was a nice surprise. This was my first time shopping at Snowline. I was looking for thrift stores and it popped up so I decided to check it out. Parking was easy and there were only a few people inside. Seemed to be no working air conditioning and was pretty warm inside. However, the employees were very nice and friendly. Everything seemed to be separately by style and size. A couple weekends ago, we stopped in and for me it was my first time here, the store itself was a bit messy, but worth digging through, I really found some treasures here! This is the best thrift store I have been to thus far, it's huge! Shopping here makes me feel good too, supporting a great cause towards a nonprofit organization established in 1979, they were voted Favorite Charitable Organization by Style Media for over 9 years! Snowline Hospice helps provide patients and their families free medical treatments and visits, they will even come to their home. By dropping off your unwanted items to this thrift store you're helping make a difference and they even have a free rewards program, which is an extra opportunity for savings on your purchase! I had to sign up for that! I would definitely recommend shopping at this location, when I was there they had tons of Easter baskets and related items for the holiday, you'll find the majority of what you need! I have never made an Easter basket for my toddler before and I look forward to seeing her eyes light up after she opens it and sees all her goodies, as well as go on an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend sporting her cute basket! This used to be a five-star place for me. If it wasn't for this place I would have never got my life together. Everything in my house is mostly from the thrift store. This place was a treasure. But now, I go in and I can only afford to buy a book or two. I look around and I think wow I could buy something brand new for the price that they have listed it for. That's too bad! It's not what it used to be. But I can still find things I can afford out back where they have the furniture for $5, but of course now I think it went up. I'm pretty sure from what I heard, they collect the good stuff put it aside and sell it online. I know for a fact they do that with Goodwill. An employee told me that. ZERO STARS!! Customer service skills seriously lacking. If you don't like your job, get out. Because of you I decided to go donate to Goodwill despite the bad reviews about them. Called twice asking the hours of donations. She simply told me the hours and coldly said they close at 95 degrees. What does that mean? When your building reaches 95 degrees? Or when the weather reaches 95 degrees? I then called Goodwill, where I was greeted by a cheerful and courteous voice. That sealed it. My donations are going there. Manager, you need to teach your staff Good Customer Service skills. For sure, the lack of customer service made me go somewhere else. read more

whoever the lady is that usually answers the phone is extremely rude! I went during donation hours and the gate was closed. I called up to inquire about the following day hoping I could donate some items and she rudely replied " why don't we just worry about today and you can come back tomorrow". I wanted to snap back, but did not. Went back the next day and it was closed. I found out they were out of space for donations. That is completely fine and all the rude clerk had to say when I called the day prior. i will donate elsewhere.
